your so right, the people are blinded to the fact. The power came from these old time service because of the dedication and the sanctified life these people used to live. They dressed holiness, they lived holiness, they preached holiness! That is the difference today. This God almighty dont bless over sin!

Thanks for posting, I do agree that the Apostolic church has left what has kept us grounded all these years. I came from the loins of the late Bishop Agnes B. Scurry and how I miss the real Apostolic church. Not in our dress but in its power and authority of the Holy Ghost!

Thank you so much Mr. Williams for these powerful recordings. Yes the church lost Power because they left Holiness and Sanctified living. We lost healing, signs and wonders. It sure wasn't worth what was lost when church members refused holy living. I pray to see the day that the church seeks out the old path and begins to walk therein. God Bless you again Brother.

Thank you. These old records and tapes I have had for years have been a great blessing to me. I was baptized in Jesus' Name at the Temple while in highschool in Chicago in 1976. Learned to play the organ around the Temple and still play like they used to. Bishop Poole once told me I have a nice touch on the organ. the organist on this side of the album, late Sis. Lavina (Cookie) and the pianist, Sis. Theatrice Bobo, used to as me to play when they we ready to leave.
I don't if a drum set would be permitted ? I love this video!

One night we got to singing and shouting while I was on the organ after Sister Jordan had left, her daughter came back in and told me she thought her mother had left. But I played so much like her mother she came back in to see. LOL

The last Saturday in October, Bethlehem Healing Temple use to celebrate there annual Day of Thanks. This is at time they set aside too commemorate a dynamic deliverance that God gave there leaders, Bishop Charles E. Poole, and Evangelist Mattie B. Poole. Going through a great test with high officials of there land, was a trying time for them, but they knew God was yet on the throne. It took much prayer and fasting, but Thank God, they came out victorious. They do not sell anything on that day and no offerings are lifted, It is a day to give thanks unto the Lord. Amen!

From everyone that I have heard from, nope. When I came along things were changing. I went back to Chicago in the 80's and it was not the same. They used to have a showcase when you entered the foyer with the records, Mother Pooles books she wrote, tapes and all that was gone! Years ago when they got a choir, things really began to change. Just like a lot of holiness churches today; they may talk about their founders, but they don't want to know what true holiness is.
You are so right. I do not bother with any if them they have changed.
Bishop Poole and Mother Poole were old fashioned Apostolic. She was not an apostle so-called and would be appalled. They would not even recognize the church they found if they were here today and hard to be recognized any longer as an Apostolic Holiness Church.
True... And that goes for many of the churches, denominations that were either, Holiness or Pentecostal that came out of this era.. Those founders would be like this is what the church has become... SMH
So true, they let anyone lead service that do not have a bit of holyghost.

Its sad to see and to say, but many are to busy trying to look, act, sing, and live like the worldy churches. So those who love the oldtime Apostolic way are driven from the churches they helped build before the younger crew took over, or they sit there and hang there heads in sadness or shame to see how once great churches no longer resemble the Apostolic Faith. Its the " great falling away" that was prophesied.
And... The "Falling Away" is in the local assembly they fell away and still in the church ...

Praise the Lord Renefox73. I have recordings of Bishop Carr with Mother Scurry on them. I have her singing and I think she may have been playing the piano. I used to be at Rehoboth COGICJA in Baltimore a few years ago.

Hello this is Elder Williams I put it back up by request of the saints. I too miss this kind of service as I was baptized at the Temple 44 years ago and they had not completely removed from the standard of holiness. How that worldly group running things now got into power shows something seriously wrong happened after Bishop AC Richards died.

I have learned a lot from my God mother, because I was only 8 when she left us, but I remember all she taught u no the church has went down along. Sis cookie was also my GODMOTHER. Renee Johnson Praise the Lord Sister Renee. I miss a lot of the saints that are gone now. They used to say I played the organ like Sister Cookie Jordan. I love the way she, Sister Bobo, and Danny Thompson played years ago. That’s anointed Holy Ghost music and not this harsh abrasive no anointing stuff these half saved if they are even saved musicians are playing today. When I was in high school one night at the Temple Sister Jordan was leaving and told me to get on the organ. We got to singing and getting happy and her told she had come to look because she new her mother gone home but heard that organ and thought she came in I played so much like her. I will hopefully give you a call and try to make you some cds of my records and recordings. I have nothing to do with the Temple they backslidden so far from truth and holiness.

Renee Johnson I have small church here in Kansas City and still have the order of service the saints had years ago. Still have song service with the hymn books before prayer just like at the Temple years ago and most other Apostolic churches. My godmother was the late Evangelist Mary J. Johnson of Bethel Apostolic Church, PCAF, in Chicago under the late Bishop Odears Wright.

+old church songs As I think I remember it: Jesus Is a healer and the world don't believe it, Jesus is a healer and He heals all the time! Healed the sick, raised the dead, there's no reason to be afraid, Jesus Is a healer, and He heals all the time.
+Tom Williams. that's it i'm just surprised that no one seem to remember it when she sung that song all the time. and always would ask the question; why should you die before your time, why should you suffer while others are being healed?
Of coarse most of the apostolic folks have gone apostate and full bore after the world.
