But once I was in there, and he gave an altar call, l FELT something. Actually physically tugging at my heart to GO up there...I felt embarrassed to go and hesitated, but my friend saw my struggle and took my hand, "Come on, I'll go with you."

Went up and before I could even speak, just had a quick thought flash to l through my mind, of actual surrender because l was SO done with life and traumatized...

Like a lightning bolt out of Heaven, l was STRUCK with something so POWERFUL, with so many things at once - a brilliant, supernatural love and peace that just flooded all through me, and at the same time I felt a huge, heavy weight get lifted off me that l didn't even know l was carrying.
I was instantly sobbing and laughing in joy at the same time and fell to the floor. I KNEW it was Jesus who had just come to me in the most powerful ways l had EVER felt.
And l knew He had just forgiven me and come into my heart and spirit, where He actually became one with me in that moment. I was a brand new person and l KNEW it, and l finally understood what being "Born Again" meant.
I truly was reborn as a new person but now, Jesus was with me, within my own spirit and my heart and I could FEEL Him with every fiber of my being. And oh my, l could not, WOULD not, EVER trade knowing Him for ANYTHING. I would not even choose my own life over knowing Him - as in if l had to die for knowing Him, as many Christians have had to do, l would do so without hesitation - because l know that when l leave this place, l will be with HIM, and He is EVERYTHING to me. He is my joy and peace, my comfort, my refuge. My healing.
That was almost 50 years ago and to this day, He is still with me and l am so, so grateful.
I assure you, He is VERY, very REAL, and if you reach out to Him and mean it, He WILL show you who He is - just like He did me.

Reason is, once people have enough money to get everything, they start thinking they don't need God because they have money enough for everything, so why ask God if you can already get it? Money in that circumstance can replace God. Those who just have enough to live comfortably still can't buy anything their heart desires, and there is the problem we need God's salvation for, our hearts, from which sins emerge out of.

Same here, grew up in a Pentecostal name it claim it church signs wonders etc. Looking back i just can't believe how blind we were. The first thing that set off alarms was that the ministry is named after him and there’s almost no mention of God doing anything or his mercy or grace. I don’t hear anything biblical that quotes either testaments or give any interpretation in a sermon.
