  • How I installed the 370Z AT cooler. This method should be the same for a G37. This is the Grassroots Motorsports kit.

Here I was hoping you would route the lines in-line with the OEM trans cooler. Seems like the easy way out is to bypass it entirely and cap the radiator points. My only concern is through research people have suggested that by bypassing the factory cooler in the radiator then the trans fluid could get too cold, as the radiator cooler has a warming line that feeds into the transmission. Both too cold and too hot for the trans seems to be concerns for people.
Did you plug your cut lines from the radiator? I highly suggest that to keep pressure in the radiator stable and keep contaminants out.
Overall very good vid thank you

You are right that transmission fluid cool being too is a concern. What you can do is install a thermostatic plate between the lines, ensuring that the fluid doesn't go to the radiator until hot. However, Grassroots Motorsports who I got the kit from, and called for advice, told me it was not required, so I didn't spend the additional $250 to get one.
There is an additional consideration: if the radiator fluid leaks in the transmission. This isn't good either, and is a known problem on some Nissan vehicules -- can irreversibly damage the transmission.
Considering that my build is more specifically track-focused, I like this arrangement of separate radiators. However, if using the vehicle in winter, it does sound like a good idea to keep the additional radiator connection.
Thank you for your coment, and thank you for the advice on keeping contaminants out.

@@DenisLabrecque I'll probably do it your way after thinking about it some more. I ran into limp mode due to AT overheating at road atlanta. It's not a great feeling ruclips.net/video/0KpPsTg2xh0/видео.htmlsi=Bixe2YMw_ZF6Xdso&t=358

@@runrobrunn wow! That's some intense limp mode! My G37 would limp, but only by limiting the rev range.
After looking on Z1 motorsports, the transmission cooler kits don't include thermostatic plates, so I suppose it's fine. Especially if you do a warm-up lap.
