God i feel so nostalgic. I spent all my childhood in the colony where majority of the inhabitants were sikhs. The aunties knew my love for the kada prasad so they always brought some for me whenever they went to gurudwara
My first experiment with kada was seeing Kunal Kapoor making it outdoor. It's amazing without any nuts. I waited for your kada receipe and finally got it.
Wow! In Karnataka we make a similar dish called Raamana Prasaada (ರಾಮನ ಪ್ರಸಾದ/रामन प्रसाद). This dish is made on Ram Navami and offered to lord Ram. In our dish we add jaggery instead of sugar and some people stop cooking at the stage before adding water and make ladoos out of it and called it Raamana Undi (ರಾಮನ ಉಂಡಿ/रामन उंडी)

I am Muslim from uttar Pradesh my mom made it when we are kids and it's very easy recipe for me and I made it several times since 10 years and it's amazing we called it aate ka halwa and I made it fantastic in my home after my mom and also my sister can't made better than me.
Just an addition here. If you're not able to find coarse wheat flour, and you have to use the regular one, reduce the amount of water. Just eye ball it.

As my father was in army, we were posted in north India, in Punjab too. Whenever we used to go to temples, or gurudwara we were given kada as prasad which all of our family used to love to relish. I thought it is made with rava but used to wonder that it is completely different from kesari made with rava in our south India. Thank you so much for this simple but very tasty recipe. Kada prasad is my favorite since childhood. We had Gurudwara in our school and I remember especially in winter's some family staying near by our school use to bring kada prasad and offer it in the Gurudwara inside school premises and as soon as we are done with our daily prayers standing on the ground in chilling winter, while going in the classroom , we use to get one big spoon of the kada prasad and that hotttttt gheee wala prasad used to be the best ever lovely feeling. As soon as we got the spoonful of prasad we too use to shift from one hand to other and eat it and remaning ghee we use to rub it on our hands... ohhh chef i m just lost in my childhood memories.... I make this same prasad on some auspicious day as a prasad on some pooja or chathurthi and offer it to god. And it is my most favorite sweet. We had Gurudwara in our school and I remember especially in winter's some family staying near by our school use to bring kada prasad and offer it in the Gurudwara inside school premises and as soon as we are done with our daily prayers standing on the ground in chilling winter, while going in the classroom , we use to get one big spoon of the kada prasad and that hotttttt gheee wala prasad used to be the best ever lovely feeling. As soon as we got the spoonful of prasad we too use to shift from one hand to other and eat it and remaning ghee we use to rub it on our hands... ohhh chef i m just lost in my childhood memories.... I make this same prasad on some auspicious day as a prasad on some pooja or chathurthi and offer it to god. And it is my most favorite sweet.
