That's because of the different passenger cars that the Amtrak train was using in this video. Most noticable changes are the baggage cars and the dining cars.
Oh the closeness! Oh the humanity... Great editing, Mr. Smith! I hope that the diamonds are still there, and that CSX still schedules locals through there
You did a pawsome job on editing these video together to replicate to it going to collide by Amtrak and CSX Train at the interlocking in plant city Fl.
I do love the sound the cars make as they traverse the crossing. These kinds of crossings on the main line are very rare in the UK. They usually have a bridge.
@@CC-185TheGreatGamerandOvi yes. They are rare. They prefer not to have 2 main lines crossing on the same grade. Not saying that there are not examples. The only one that I can think of is the one just north of Newark on the ECML
Good job at cutting the segments out. I like how cars and trucks emerged from nowhere on the street though. If it hadn’t been for things like that you might have gotten away with it. Some of them are pretty good. I like how you had a cameo in that one.
your editing was a success................i really thought the trains were running that close and were gonna hit....,,,,,i knew when it said millenniumforce to pass it by BUT i made the mistake and decided to watch anyway.................should've stuck with my first choice.............got to 6 minutes and couldn't watch anymore......
Great editing. You had me fooled. I didn't notice the editing at first but then I realized that all of the trains were staying in the throttle when they supposedly saw a train crossing in front of them. If they had really been that close, we would have heard each of the second trains going into emergency as it approached the first train already in the interlock. Also, if this were really happening and the FRA saw this video, there would be some heads rolling somewhere. The guy yelling "Run, Run" was hilarious.
Very well done but the video is edited. The sun is giving your editing away. One moment the building leaves a shadow, the other moment the shadow is gone. Really nice to see and try to find your hacks was very interesting. Thank you for this great show!
Not closenough! Well done! Years ago I had a Lionel O-guage train in a figure 8 track. The steam locomotive barely missed hitting the caboose crossing in front of it.
You see at 2.35 a change in the background (cars disappear and show up) so the tricks are well done! Greetings from the Netherlands by Arie Bert Versteeg ;-) Train dispatcher
I am glad you put in that disclaimer, because if this was real, the FRA would be all over CSX, AMTRAK, the dispatchers, train crews and anyone else like a cheap suit, and the fines would be in the millions of dollars. Jail might also be in the forecast.
Oh wow! The old Tropicana train at 5:15! If there are three things Alan loves it's locomotive horns, even had one in one of his cars, the Double Diamonds at Plant City and editing videos to make things closer than they actually are.
From Canada: These diamonds are relics of the past that need to be seriously upgraded! Looking at your video it seems to me that the single track that apparently carries all the Amtrak traffic is the one most effectively to be modified. However whether it were to be routed above of below the other rails, it seems to me that either solution would have its issues ongoing due to the local environment. I used to have an American friend who retired in Leesburg, so I got many bits of info even though the only time I have been in Florida was to touch down in Miami ad take off again for Punta Cana, D.R. (Chester was about 10 years older than I so eventually he passed away and his wife went to live in Pennsylvania with some of their reatives.) Hence I am aware of the violent thunderstorm period you have from about late August to about November. Also, most if the state of Florida is more or less a big sandbar, low altitude and swampy. Hence flooding and Hurricane winds are both hazards of the land. 1) So if the Amtrak route were to be put above the rest on a viaduct, I think there woukldbe a constant risk of trains getting blown off the tracks in bad weather, and the viaduct wuld have to be constructed to survive ground flooding, making the cost of that notably higher than a normal viaduct of similar size. I would imaging they would have to build it almost like a brdge, supported on huge pilings going very deep into the ground, and a n emergency pun\mping station and culvert system would be needed to get rid of flood waters around both sets of tracks - IN A HURRY! in case of a storm. Something of that size and cost woulkd do well to also be designed as part of the drainage system for Plant city as well to make the best use of the lot. 2) I think it would be better to run the Amtrak route underground as that would protect the tracks and passing trains from wind damage in the area. the drainage issue would still be there, but the idea would be to have a cistern aside from the tracks at a level significantly lower than the lowest level of the proposed Amtrrak tunnel, and not located between the town and the tunnel, but aside so if it overflowed inan extreme storm, it would not oiverflow into either the tracks are or the city. Looking at the demographic stats, This might fit, but it will cost, albeit I think a good solution for a lopng time.
Actually, it could be real, however, look at the trains. Mostly Amtrak and locals. The few big trains were really creeping. The Amtrak trains and locals can go faster and look more dangerous because they are shorter, lighter, and easier to stop.
Before 6:37 sound is nominal, at 6:38 sound is a very bad edit, and sound is back to nominal at 6:39. Fun for those in the know,.. not so much for those who have no idea how interlocking works.
This is hilarious. 😅 Never knew train's horns could get so annoying! Or that they jerk with the sound of their traveling! Or that they could do right angle turns! 😋
