Nice edit, and nice shots of Canadian grain cars.. Plus that diamond could use some maintenance, it's got a awful dip on the right side rail. Thanks for the video Alan.
+Charles Damery Since the former Canadian Harper Conservative federal government did away with the Canadian Grain Board, which sold the grain for the farmers, the grain farmers are free to sell their grain wherever they want. Those cars were probably headed for the Ethanol plant outside of Plant City, driving up the food and feed costs and your grocery bills.
Editing. Top mast wouldn’t have given clear that quickly anyhow. That was pretty seamless. An NTSB/FRA person would crap themselves if this wasn’t edited.
That's total editing I saw cause Amtrak 158 would have actually hit CSX 7705 if it wouldn't have slowed down on time, and the gates went rapidly down, good job on that one, you nearly had me
Sy Woit yep. you can see the gate in the background go from "up" to "down" in a very suspicious, unrealistic manner. Other than that the editing is pretty spot on.
Its a dual signal. There is another above it that was green. If you look at a block signal at a switch there is a top signal for going straight and a lower signal for going into or onto the siding.
From the comments I see everybody said that it was from editing but the signal never changed it was still read on the Amtrak in North or whatever direction
sure they could. I was a conductor and you'd be amazed what one unit could pull. that was a junk train and not very heavy.that train might have been 6000 tons. a lightweight. (junk meaning lumber, box cars, grain, spline cars etc) all different commodities. heavy trains are like all slurry or oil tankers or coal, usually
That's hilarious. Masterful splicing. You've got the engineer of the Amtrak sounding the horn--as if that will make any difference--and running the red signal. Well done.
The Amtrak engineer drove past a red light (@6:20) Amazing that it was made public. Of course, he was obviously creeping along and could have outstopped the CSX if needed, so no danger.
Very good editing I know how you did it but still it’s pretty Damn good yeah I am a train spotter in the Midwest and I just went to The busiest train line in the world the Marsha subdivision basically the same one as the southwest chief
Nah it didnt, its just the top signal is cut off. The Top is green and while the bottom is red thats how its supposed to look. If it did, then the train would stop automatically stop because of PTC installed on the train
Actually, if you look closely, the video was edited. After the CSX passes the diamond, the railroad crossing gate in the background quickly teleports into position.
oh thanks Jaw your perfectly fine on the date as long as you said it you rock oh can you please talk to liam about his language and responses to me? oh and Joe I am 13 :)
2 more freight cars on the CSX train and that would've definitely been a disaster. The engineer on the AMTRAK train should've had his a$$ handed to him for that CIRCUS STUNT!
Just look at the dangerous state of that Diamond crossing. Not surprising they have more derailments in one month in the USA than the whole of EUROPE in a YEAR. And Europe runs over 1500% more trains daily than the USA !!!!
There was a big train crash at this location in 1995 where a csx and amtrack crashed to the amtrack ran a red signal and it hit the csx and it exploded I live near that location to.
RUclipsr_JohnH No, this is just clever editing! Watch carefully and you will see that the crossing gate went down instantly. These are actually two recordings together.
For one, it never missed the csx train, because Amtrak had the red light, so it had to wait, don’t make it like they were were about to an accident, SMDH.
So you're suggesting that Amtrak train sat there for about 5 minutes and then accelerated really fast through the track crossing? Even if that was somehow possible the video ia edited.
Best editor ever. It took me a long time to notice the gates in the background at 6:19
LOL HOW
Not to mention the red signal...although I guess there could be other signal heads above it that aren't red.
Yo
I like the orthogonal view of the freight train and good lighting. I'm actually keeping this video as a reference for freight car weathering projects.

Alan, your videos are always awesome to watch. I only am able to get videos of Wisconsin & southern railroad here in Markesan, Wisconsin.
go to plant city if you can it’s where he caught this train
For everybody that is saying the signal was red: that was probably the bottom head of two, the top one was probably green once the CSX passed.
Was that signal red when Amtrak passed?
You devil! you!
Andre Martens no, it was very good editing. Check the description.
ShortzYT Transit & Gaming no, that’s still a two headed signal, regardless of the editing, the signal is STILL a two headed signal
Kasey Aldrich yeah I realized now, thanks for the heads up
Dude there are 3 signal heads he has a high clear when csx cleared the diamond crossing
Also it has good editing too
either you are an editing god or the amtrak ran a red signal
Lol
It says in the description this was good editing
And also, I’ve been there. That isn’t the signal that gets lit, the top one does.

I love this video. Beautiful compilation. Awesome trains. Thanks for posting it.
The Amtrak train in Oklahoma is called the heartland flyer
6:20 I noticed the crossing gate went down rapidly! Great job tricking the RUclipsrs!
Damn dude u gotta eye for that stuff, u gotta admit some good editing tho
+Erich Diebold Nice to see someone else noticed.
Whenever he uploads this crap, I always look for the cut where things disappear or appear.
Same.
+Erich Diebold good catch on noticing the crossing gate.
For those wondering the CSX train has 166 freight cars not including the 3 locomotives.
Your welcome.

@Jasmine Young he did edit! Did you even read the description??
Jasmine Young umm yes he did
wow, those are nice horns. Great editing. I noticed the lake ave gates went down so quickly lol lol lol
Awesome video!! The CSX train was really long and the Amtrak train has passed through the red light but no danger
That Csx train was super long.
Wow. I had to watch this again a few times to see if it was editing. I knew the railroad wouldn't let that happen.
Whoa, but nice K5H on the CSX C40-8W
Yay love the new intro! Such great editing too! Nice video!
If you look at 6:16, you can see the gates up, then look when the Amtrack comes, they instantly go down. But really good editing

3:11he’s stopping down there
That editing was godly. It actually looked completely real.
Those are some fine editing skills
Signal was red when Amtrak came through. Great edit Alan!
The top one gets lit up idiot 😤😤😤
He cuts to a new clip when the camera shakes
Sy Woit yep. you can see the gate in the background go from "up" to "down" in a very suspicious, unrealistic manner. Other than that the editing is pretty spot on.
5:19 saw a GATX hopper pretty rare in Floridia
6:17 dude.
long ass train. typical CSX
Is that a bad thing
A near miss means they hit. A near hit means they just missed each other.
did amtrak apply the emergency brakes when the driver saw csx
It's not actually editing and the bottom light is red but green on top BTW
I liked it that train graffiti was cool those horns are cool sounding those tankers and railbox cars are cool anyway nice video and have a nice day
Amtrak ran the red signal. By all means, if the signal is red, you must stop.
Its a dual signal. There is another above it that was green. If you look at a block signal at a switch there is a top signal for going straight and a lower signal for going into or onto the siding.
A single head ABS signal at red is restricted. Go no faster than 15 MPH, being prepared to stop within half the range of vision.
Guys the video was edited. This didn't actually happen.
Not necessarily
pretty impressive editing skills.
Csx dash 8 7705 has a good horn k5h
CSX 7705 is a Dash 8, and yes, that K5H is lovely.
@@MultiAlienTrains I edit to dash 8.
I noticed the edit because the tracks moved slightly
+Millenniumforce I like the editing
I remember seeing this when I was young!
(24.Mar.2020)
there were a lot of Union Pacific auto-rack cars in the first CSX train
Amazing Editing Skills
The editing was cool so does that mean the trains actual went by but the Amtrak went by a few minutes later?
I remember watching this video in 2021
And that ls 1 long train
From the comments I see everybody said that it was from editing but the signal never changed it was still read on the Amtrak in North or whatever direction
am not trying to be some nerd rail fan but I just want to point out this train has 166 cars
No way those units 3 units could pull a 7 minute train thats unbelievable as well as it almost colliding another train 8O
sure they could. I was a conductor and you'd be amazed what one unit could pull. that was a junk train and not very heavy.that train might have been 6000 tons. a lightweight. Wow you filmed it on Christmas Eve
Yo that cool video of that freight train crossing the diamond. And the stop signal red facing..
We're coming in to the curve.
¿The trains from CSX are long?
I wonder which train was edited in
It’s weird how all train cars that transport cars the same just with different logo
Nice catch of csx q441 and p091
This video was a memory. I like the K5LA horn on Amtrak 158 and 2nd K5H horn CSX 7705. 0:29 5:56
Amtrak’s signal is red! The crew should be investigated!
Technically a near-miss is a hit that means they nearly missed each other and hit so the title is wrong but good video and really good editing
Odd...the signal on the track that Amtrak was on was red the whole time. I'm not sure how he got clearance to cross the diamond so soon.
WOW THAT'S A 6 MINUTE LONG FREIGHT TRAIN HOLY JESUS
The Amtrak engineer drove past a red light (@6:20) Amazing that it was made public. Of course, he was obviously creeping along and could have outstopped the CSX if needed, so no danger.
The engineer's don't wave from the trains anymore, not like they did back in 1954 keep watching trackside CHRIS
That was a good edit but you can tell a bit by the rail gate up there
Very good editing I know how you did it but still it’s pretty Damn good yeah I am a train spotter in the Midwest and I just went to The busiest train line in the world the Marsha subdivision basically the same one as the southwest chief

really good editing
The train is still going and It's been 5 minutes 😐
Doge Doge yeah it's like a real train ive had to wait 8 minutes
Imagine a train going 1 mile an hour with lots of cars through a busy crossing then backing up then going over and over again
Definitely if there was no amtrak shot this vid would be called "Long mixed csx train at interlocking
Cool that CSX train has a lot of carts from Canada and a one was from saskatchewen which is were I live
I love how everyone is saying he edited it when he rlly didn’t smh
He said he edited it in the description
Kayden Peterson oh ok srry lol
I counted 166 cars plus 3 engines on the CSX.

The signal for the Amtrak train was red. There's no way an Amtrak train is going to run a red signal, especially at a diamond.
Did you actually think it was real? You can see a crossing gate magically fade away in the background after CSX passes too
I like all your videos nice video
Obviously the Amtrak was at slow speed and they coordinate via GPS
RUclipsr_JohnH No, this is just clever editing! Watch carefully and you will see that the crossing gate went down instantly. These are actually two recordings together.
Sir Topham Hat will call you a "naughty editor" and send you back to the viaduct to film there. One day he will make you a "useful editor". 🤣

6:00 is when the last car passes if i remeber
Jeez, imagine waiting for this train to pass by at a railroad crossing for more than 5 minutes...
FastCarsNoRules220 he waits for trains for long times

did you edit that because the signal that we were facing was up then they were down no starting to go down
