- We poured out an exterior concrete slab for some friends and they wanted it to be a totally non slip surface but they did not want it to be broomed. We did this swirl mag finish as we named it. We did this same finish on a car wash before and it keeps the surface of the concrete open so it will handle the freeze thaw cycles we have here in Central New York State. It also is a surface that is safe to walk on or in there case dance on as this was gonna be a dance floor at times also.
Rotor sprinting the exact same curve any time you let him out is so adorable!
Yup he always does the same thing. LOL
My father was a concrete finisher in Mpls/St.Paul 50 years ago . They called that finish the St.Paul swirl . Probably something else on the east coast .
I really like it it for outside stuff.
I guess no more Hmmmms,
It always make you so real.
Roe is great co pilot.
Hmmmmmmm thank you 😊
Another great job and thanks for speeding up the placement. You are 100% correct about lower slump / less water being stronger. You know your stuff Bondo !!
First 👍's up BB thank you for sharing 🤗
Thanks Scott 😊
Great job brother. 👍🏻🇺🇸🐶
Thanks 😊
Thanks for the videos.
Masterful wire pulling! Interesting finish.
We call that a "Sweat" finish in Central California. City side walks are usuals spec'd that way.
Cool I did not know that.
Another great slab.
I wish you guys were closer to me. I would hire you without hesitation.
good job Bondo !!! thanks for posting !
Keep the Beard Chris👍
Yup he is gonna trim it. LOL
Nice 👌
Good comment:- Can't get enough of these Bondo videos
Bad comment:- Can't get enough of these Bondo videos
2 comments for the price of 1. LOL
Looks good. Practical finish. I like the 6x6 on the sonotubes instead of ground contact
yea that is a good long long long term plan
Ya he bought those pre cast footers. and he used rough sawn lumber so good to keep it out of the ground.
@@rodrod383 Definitely
Looks good 👍
Thanks Andy
BONDO = GOAT of the east coast concrete, even over mike. Sorry mike
2.5 yard plus order, not too bad.5 slump plz
Thanks brother. 👊👍
If you use water reducer you get even stronger concrete because you use even less water than pouring a 5 slump, to each thier own
Nice finish great job as always
Great job guys!
Bondo and Crew🤙🔥🇺🇸
Ya buddy
Looks great
The home owner has worked hard for many years to build up that place. It looks nice.
Yes he has his own little paradise over there. 😊
Ya'll need to come to South Texas to pour my 56'x96' Barndo slab!
Very nice!
Thanks
Good job 👍
Thanks David.
More Rotor please? We love that dog :)
Ok so do I. 😊
@@bondobuilt386 👍
That finish will wear out shoes. I worked in La Superdome when ot opened 1975 wore out two pairs of shoes on new concrete in 2 months.
Good dancing surface. 😊
Bondo your youtube success is around the corner... But that mean little, cuz your winning in the game of life... Keep up the outstanding work, we all appreciate it esp your customers.
Nice job
Don’t know him but, he’s a good AmericanGod bless that guy
You'll have to post a video of you and the crew dancing!
it is on their tiktok 😁😃
Nobody wants to see that. LOL
@@rodrod383 LOL
Maestro Rowe!
Some of then existing pier pads have a conical shape. Do you anticipate some cracking in your pour directly above those specific pads?
slight sag on the header under sized for the opening , great wire work today bow to ur majesty hahahahha
LOL thanks. 😊
I like the finish. Do you have any video that talk more in depth on the laser level? Getting ready to pour my 25x45 shop with some guys from the station… pretty much based off watching your videos lol
Awesome. I touch on the laser in several videos but I have 360 videos so not sure what video is best. We basically set the laser to where we want the top of our floor and use that to make small wet piles bagged of to grade then we set wet pads off those little piles of concrete. and we call then wet screeds. we pull our screed across them for our floor. If you have a bunch of guys that have never done concrete set up some screed chairs with pipe. It will save you some headache.

Thank you very much. A couple of the guys have done concrete on and off throughout the years, I’ll make sure they stay aways from the beer until after it’s done lol
Thanks again sir
Good or Bad Comment
Both , 😊Thanks
It looks like he's doing a his business before he gets into the truck.
Ya he was lol😊
Good job guys as always! 😎 Are you and shrinking biscuit brothers by any chance?
LOL he is my son. 😊
@@bondobuilt386 Cool!
Class time, why the rebar and screen? How do I get you down to New Paltz to do my garage?
We put the bar in there just as extra precaution because they got into the clay dirt a little on one side.
YES (DON'T TREAD ON ME) that is what you call a smart friend you have there Bondo. Nice job. Still NO Trans fluid.
👍👍👍
👍👊👍
Yee haw🎉
Yeeeeeee Hawwwww 👊
Good morning
Good evening. 😊
12:19 - My comment: Nice and tight? It is the water/cement ratio that is crucial. If your aggregates are bad, with lots of dust and flat stones, you will need more water to make the concrete workable. Minimal dust and square stones, you will need less water for the same slump. Again, it is not the slump that is crucial for strength, but the water/cement ratio. If you had properly cured the concrete for a week, it would have gained 20-30% more strength.
Adding 6% air to the concrete makes it about 10% less strong, but should be more resistant to frost. Can be dangerous to work concrete with air too much. Air will can be released and trapped below the surface. You can get a lot of spalling then. According to concrete professor Taylor Lay, ideally only use bull float on concrete with 6% air.
In the Syracuse New York area what are you guys paying for a bundle of 20 foot rebar? In th Philadelphia we've been paying in the range $760 to $820 per bundle, and they only want to sell full bundles. Why the price varies? I have no idea, we had been buying for $720 or so last year. These sellers are usually individuals who speak Spanish as their first-language, and they don't charge sales tax; you have to haul it from their place.
Are there any requirements or building inspections in your area? In my region you can't build such structures, overheads or outbuildings without engineered plans, approved fire department access, and all kinds of city, county approval signoffs. Not to mention even the bestest neighbors "anonymously" ratting you out about not having building permits.
We do have building inspections but not super strict in this area.
about a 5....and a half
poor Teddy Bear. No way I can take 2 dogs.
nice job but what about that wire 🤣
😊
4/25/24..ok Bondo, look you do a great video & are very exacting with your crew following many successful jobs ...now since you like educating us...kindly tell why on job/video b4 this one, you have crew install white plastic b4 wire mesh but this job no white plastic?
So in keeping with your educationl aspects, please explain this discrepancy...some soils/sub grades/ compact stones get the plastic (moisture) barrier & other just 'raw' mud grades get 0 plastic & just the wire mesh...yes I am sipping my white wine watching you, Tom Hause in Pa. & O'Dell in San Diego..so looks like this use of plastic is...not regulated?? That can't be right...kindly give a word of explination when & why you use the plastic. I can see ( your fine camera work) you grab&pull up the wire mesh for 'mid slurry' placement; but that white plastic sometimes included & sometimes not is a 'catch' for me...need to know the real story for your area. Remember I am in New Orleans area, lots of moisture in our air & soil; so code down here is 6mil visqueen on top of soil before mesh & cc. Ok, much enjoy your videos, dog & old house renovation yard work re: that old tree city made you take out. That's another good video. So Bondo, grab your beer & tell 'Ole Pawpaw why I am seeing visqueen on grade sometimes & sometimes not! I kinda want everything to be the same, ya know?🤔💪👍🍺😊
Wire mesh horrible and blah blhah blah. LoL.😜
