Midlife is my absolute favorite but there’s only one more guy who’s even more thorough than Sean (if that was even possible!) and that’s an Australian guy named George who has a RUclips channel called ‘Quick Cuts’. George is a bit OCD when it comes to clean ups but WOW! His transformations are outstanding. Sean edges George out because he has a great heart and goes to the underserved neighborhoods to make a difference. 😊

I was one of those that asked Stockman how he could pile those bricks up right in front of the water drain. But I'm laughing because I never thought of Stockman's quick fix! I was waiting for Sean to restack those bricks someplace else and all he did was move the drain spout about 6 to 8 inches over. 😝😝😝😝😝😝😝Genius Stockman, just genius! Watching you regularly from across the pond from Dublin, Ireland. Impressed by the work you do in what by Irish norms are huge gardens. I am genuinely surprised and even shocked at the lack of assistance offered to you by neighbours. In Ireland we have a national Tidy Towns competition which has existed for many years. Towns big and small have volunteers who work hard without any payment to clean up unsightly places and houses and abandoned buildings and sites to improve the appearance of their places. Annual awards are made to towns and villages by teams of assessors. Competition is intense and the results can be seen all over the country with flowers and fresh paint everywhere Is there need for a Neighbourhood Help organisation in your State and eventually nationwide to bring people together to help each other. My great-grandfather was from Swinford in Co. Mayo, and I follow their town page on Facebook. I was happy to see the good results they got on this year's Tidy Towns competition. The judge was very encouraging, and pointed out areas for projects going forward. A great program!
That is an excellent idea. I live in an apartment complex and some of the people that live here have no respect for the grounds. It does drive me crazy. Now that I am old and have trouble getting around, I can’t run out there and pick up their mess.
Such a wonderful cleanup you did! Awesome results! That house needs a family, with a basketball goal, a firepit, a swingset, a dog, a shop for dad to work on his motorcycle or do woodworking...perfect house for a family! Again, you did such a magnificent job!

I have found a way to give back to my community by volunteering in the local schools and encourage other retirees to find the way they can give back. I know you are not retired, but more than any other yard makeover person (in my opinion) you are doing the most AND including your viewers as much as they can help. I LOVE the way you stop and talk to us while you are working. It really feels like you are bringing us along with you. Really no one else does that. It is like you are teaching us and I have learned a lot of tips and tricks in keeping my own yard neat and clean. Your kindness interacting with everyone has been an example for me and I'm sure for everyone watching. Your dedication and faith really shows. Sean, i think it needs to be said, that there's a bonus effect to what you're doing. You're providing an opportunity for possible investors to these properties as an intricate part of a neighborhood/community, rather than a lot with a trash heap thats not worth saving! So true. If I were 40 years younger I would buy up some of these houses that he works on and fix them up to sell. The two this week and last week would be perfect for such a project. He shows a potential buyer what the house should look like. Love it.
The problem is that there's way more supply of homes for sale than demand for homes in the Detroit area, which makes any investment a high risk/low reward proposition.

thing hat sucks across the country is the taxes,i own a few homes and the one i live in in NJ my property taxes alone are $15k,we need term limits on congress because some of those people in there are like 80yrs old and theyre clueless to how things are..Young couples cant even buy a home its really hard and that sucks...All the money we give away to these countries that shouldnt be getting a dime,we could eliminate property taxes if we stopped funding wars and housing all of these criminals that cross our border illegaly..

It's utterly disgraceful. We have a huge homeless problem in the UK but illegals are put up in 4* hotels, clothed, given 3 meals a day, a new smartphone and spending money to boot! Meanwhile our elderly freeze, businesses go bust due to insane levels of taxation, and illegal migrants are given Council houses as a priority.

I'm pretty sure that Sean said that he does it himself; he can set it to hover in a certain place take some video, then move it to provide a different aspect - hopefully the batteries never run out so it falls somewhere inaccessible!

Great job Sean! Two things: 1) that tree that was growing by the back steps is tree of heaven (Ailanthus altissima), an invasive tree that is also host to the spotted lantern fly, which is also invasive and very harmful! The spotted lantern fly has already been seen in Michigan and should be destroyed. It has wreaked havoc in the Mid-Atlantic region. 2) the tarps on the roof were placed to temporarily protect the house from leaks. The loose tarp has exposed the roof leak it was covering. 😢 I hope someone saves these two houses. Thank you Sean for all you do for the community.

So glad you could get both properties cleaned up for the neighborhood. The other lawns look so nice, now these places match. It's so sad that so many houses are abandoned and left to just rot away. They just become a haven for critters you'd rather not have in the neighborhood. Another job well done!

Housing crisis and we see such nice family homes...EMPTY. the cities should really make these abandoned properties available to families more OFTEN. When doing a project like you do when walking the yard dragging your feet helps finding things that could be hidden in the grass or overgrowth you do a great job with helping the community and maybe get neighborhoods working together to step up and helping each other,

As I’ve said before and I notice others are saying it too, you exceed all other RUclipsrs that are in your line of work, simply because you go the extra mile and clean up after yourself! While I always enjoy watching yard clean up videos, you have set the bar so high now that all other channels are being left behind and I really don’t care to watch them anymore. What I have heard and what I have read on here is, if the hedge is in front of windows, keep the height of the hedge under the bottom of the windows. It's a safety thing. Someone can't hide in the hedge and look in the window. Makes sense to me!! Great job on the hedges and the whole property. It sure makes the neighborhood look better! Hello from MN!

I love Mondays... if only because I know there's a new Midlife Stockman video! This was another major improvement. Not surprised there would be snakes, if there's a rat problem. Hopefully the cleanup of these two yards has a positive impact on reducing the rodent population. Thank you, as always, for checking in garages (or under homes) before sealing them up, so no animals are trapped. You are so thorough in cleanups like this. Sometimes other channels leave me asking "why didn't you cut the limbs overhanging the driveway?" or "why couldn't you shape the hedges?" Your videography is also so pleasing. The right mix of high cam, low cam and drone shots. A few slow-mo bits, and a couple of mower-mount shots, without it becoming a gimmick (or dizzying - body cam and mower-mounted shots can give me a little vertigo). Really enjoy the bits where you make things disappear, or take a minute to talk to us about something. You're always so positive about things, too. I'm generally a wry, sarcastic person with a bit of negativity, but I've been inspired by people like you to try putting a positive spin on things, and I notice a difference in how I feel.

Towns big and small have volunteers who work hard without any payment to clean up unsightly places and houses and abandoned buildings and sites to improve the appearance of their places. Annual awards are made to towns and villages by teams of assessors. Competition is intense and the results can be seen all over the country with flowers and fresh paint everywhere

My great-grandfather was from Swinford in Co. Mayo, and I follow their town page on Facebook. I was happy to see the good results they got on this year's Tidy Towns competition. The judge was very encouraging, and pointed out areas for projects going forward. A great program!
That is an excellent idea. I live in an apartment complex and some of the people that live here have no respect for the grounds. It does drive me crazy. Now that I am old and have trouble getting around, I can’t run out there and pick up their mess.

I can't believe how much difference cleaning up a yard makes the house look better! I mean, the house at first looks like it should be demolished. But after the yard is clean, the house seems to have more potential. It's awesome to see!! 😁

I have found a way to give back to my community by volunteering in the local schools and encourage other retirees to find the way they can give back. I know you are not retired, but more than any other yard makeover person (in my opinion) you are doing the most AND including your viewers as much as they can help. I LOVE the way you stop and talk to us while you are working. It really feels like you are bringing us along with you. Really no one else does that. It is like you are teaching us and I have learned a lot of tips and tricks in keeping my own yard neat and clean. Your kindness interacting with everyone has been an example for me and I'm sure for everyone watching. Your dedication and faith really shows. Thank you for what you do even though I live FAR away from Michigan!
Hello Kathy. I recently retired this past summer and I am giving myself some time to have no agenda-after 42+ years in the medical field-however, when it’s time, volunteering is at the top of my list! Sean, i think it needs to be said, that there's a bonus effect to what you're doing. You're providing an opportunity for possible investors to these properties as an intricate part of a neighborhood/community, rather than a lot with a trash heap thats not worth saving! These homes need people....who need homes! You are doing Gods work, because you work "with intention" rather than "for attention"!! WE SEE YOU and we love you back! WELL DONE
So true. If I were 40 years younger I would buy up some of these houses that he works on and fix them up to sell. The two this week and last week would be perfect for such a project. He shows a potential buyer what the house should look like. Love it.
The problem is that there's way more supply of homes for sale than demand for homes in the Detroit area, which makes any investment a high risk/low reward proposition.

thing hat sucks across the country is the taxes,i own a few homes and the one i live in in NJ my property taxes alone are $15k,we need term limits on congress because some of those people in there are like 80yrs old and theyre clueless to how things are..Young couples cant even buy a home its really hard and that sucks...All the money we give away to these countries that shouldnt be getting a dime,we could eliminate property taxes if we stopped funding wars and housing all of these criminals that cross our border illegaly..

Meanwhile our elderly freeze, businesses go bust due to insane levels of taxation, and illegal migrants are given Council houses as a priority.

I'm pretty sure that Sean said that he does it himself; he can set it to hover in a certain place take some video, then move it to provide a different aspect - hopefully the batteries never run out so it falls somewhere inaccessible!

Possibly the best looking hedge trimming results I’ve ever seen!
Great job Sean! Two things: 1) that tree that was growing by the back steps is tree of heaven (Ailanthus altissima), an invasive tree that is also host to the spotted lantern fly, which is also invasive and very harmful! The spotted lantern fly has already been seen in Michigan and should be destroyed. It has wreaked havoc in the Mid-Atlantic region. 2) the tarps on the roof were placed to temporarily protect the house from leaks. The loose tarp has exposed the roof leak it was covering. 😢 I hope someone saves these two houses. Thank you Sean for all you do for the community.

So glad you could get both properties cleaned up for the neighborhood. The other lawns look so nice, now these places match. It's so sad that so many houses are abandoned and left to just rot away. They just become a haven for critters you'd rather not have in the neighborhood. Another job well done!

When doing a project like you do when walking the yard dragging your feet helps finding things that could be hidden in the grass or overgrowth you do a great job with helping the community and maybe get neighborhoods working together to step up and helping each other,

While I always enjoy watching yard clean up videos, you have set the bar so high now that all other channels are being left behind and I really don’t care to watch them anymore. What I have heard and what I have read on here is, if the hedge is in front of windows, keep the height of the hedge under the bottom of the windows. It's a safety thing. Someone can't hide in the hedge and look in the window. Makes sense to me!! Great job on the hedges and the whole property. It sure makes the neighborhood look better! Hello from MN!

This was another major improvement. Not surprised there would be snakes, if there's a rat problem. Hopefully the cleanup of these two yards has a positive impact on reducing the rodent population.

You are so thorough in cleanups like this. Sometimes other channels leave me asking "why didn't you cut the limbs overhanging the driveway?" or "why couldn't you shape the hedges?"
Your videography is also so pleasing. The right mix of high cam, low cam and drone shots. A few slow-mo bits, and a couple of mower-mount shots, without it becoming a gimmick (or dizzying - body cam and mower-mounted shots can give me a little vertigo). Really enjoy the bits where you make things disappear, or take a minute to talk to us about something.
You're always so positive about things, too. I'm generally a wry, sarcastic person with a bit of negativity, but I've been inspired by people like you to try putting a positive spin on things, and I notice a difference in how I feel.
