@Re San HR is not an independent entity, they are hired and employed by the company. The purpose of a company having an HR division is to protect that company from being in a situation where they can be sued. Do some HR reps also produce employee perks? Sometimes yes. But they exist because having an attorney on staff 40 hours a week is far more expensive. HR’s protect companies, not employees, even if they don’t present themselves that way. You will be terminated by HR if u do anything that could possibly risk your company ending up in court or fined.
He seems interested. I actually appreciate that he didn’t force a perspective. He possibly recognized that his experience was likely not the same as what his female coworkers went through. I can say from personal experience that men ( who you may not even like in other aspects) can be important allies as bystanders when bad stuff happens to you. Some of them have been raised right and we need to give them the benefit of doubt.
Highly doubt that Charlie Rose's absence from this 10/17/2017 morning show was coincidental considering he now stands accused of sexual harassment. CBS knew then and was protecting him.
Incredible. I remember watching fox and friends as a teenager and thinking that how they treated her was nothing but fun and games, teasing, being the little sister of the show etc but watching it back and then hearing about the stuff that went on with Ailes and people like Bill O'Reilly and its shocking to me that their behavior went on as long as it did. The movie bombshell brought some of this to light for me and although I am a conservative, if it weren't for women like Gretchen and Megyn Kelly for speaking out and standing up to untouchable people/businesses/organizations then I think that women in the workplace would continue to be silenced. She put her career on the line and she helped change the landscape of how women are treated in the workplace. It makes me feel better that I was raised right and I've always treated women as an equal and I've always understood that its who the person is on the inside more than the outside. Unfortunately, the better you look means the more opportunities you'll get. A resume will only get you so far and it's sad that sex still sells in business and corporate America. It's sad to me and pathetic at the same time but good for Gretchen for having the courage to stand up against the giant Fox News. It's 2021 and we all know this kind of crap (although it's not happening as much) is still taking place across the country in all aspects of the workplace. HR is key when it comes to standing up for the employees rather than protect the executives. I know with my line of work that sh*t wouldn't fly for a second which is good because me being a male, I can't imagine being a female and especially an attractive female having to deal with all sorts of comments, looks, attention, rumors/drama etc. I know women get that more than men do. I'm not pro feminist by any means but I do believe that in regards to everything, women have to tolerate that kind of behavior and put up with it more than men do, it's mentally exhausting. I'm glad that my mind and priorities have always been in the right place professionally and personally because honestly before all of this came to light, I'll admit I was oblivious to this kind of stuff. I have a lot of females that I'm professionally connected with on LinkedIn for networking purposes and they tell me that they get messages and connection requests from random men that have no involvement with the type of work they do. Out of good faith and because Linkedln is an app used solely for networking and our professional careers, they accept the connection requests strictly for networking purposes and they tell me they get numerous messages every week with the men treating LinkedIn like its a dating app. The messages these females receive never has anything to do with work or networking, it centers around how beautiful the female is and how they caught the guys eye, asking to get to know them, asking them out on a date and there are even some messages they get that goes beyond that. It turns my stomach that this crap occurs as frequently as it does. It's good this has come to light and its gotten everyone's attention but there's still more work that needs to be done, I respect Gretchen point blank period.
I cut hair and have been sexually harassed by many men while sitting in my chair!! They are so stupid they don't realize i have SCISSORS in my hand!!!! SMH.
Because Orange man gets away with everything!!! It's outrageous, disturbing, disgusting and infuriating!! There's not a day goes by I think is today the day he finally gets taken down and no he never ever does! Sorry for my venting.😀 you made a great point.
To be fair, he did ask a follow up question. "Which is the case with your settlement?" Perhaps he didn't have much experience with the story or wanted to not steal the spotlight from the women. As it is [story] about an abusive man so, he probably thought it be respectful to take a step back. I saw nothing wrong with him. Not all men.
So glad to see this movement take on steam. Back in the 70’s I worked in an office at a glass factory. I was harassed daily. Victims had no voice whatsoever. Under current laws I could have owned that company!
So much respect for Gretchen. This interview is so beyond awkward. I’d imagine that Gretchen felt very awkward and intimidated but you’d never know by watching her. I could never be in her position!
Hooray for Gretchen! She's right, like advocating for oneself, courage has to be learned! Since men are the ones who are usually in power they enable each other to continue this insidious treatment of women. Gretchen is strong, intelligent, and well spoken and has done all women a favor by her courage in speaking up!
Oprah (Gail) should have allowed the male figure of the panel to speak more. I was really interested in what he had to say. But it's just like Oprah to cut people off while they're attempting to speak.
If Gretchen Carlson was a black democrat, Gayle king would have been 10000% more kind, generous, and understanding, and more in depth . Instead, she was cold and didn’t give a crap .
Yeah, as they sat next to Charlie Rose for a few years and were cheerleaders for Hillary Clinton, who conveniently dismissed ALL of the women who accused her cretinous husband of sexual assault.
I don't agree with harassment in any form, but how come these same women don't come out against the women who get there promotions and jobs by giving sexual favors! U can't just play the victim role when it's convenient. They know women just like I do that get favor after favor for being attractive but that's ok. I'm truly not trying to belittle there claim, but it's hard to change when there are just as many women who look for those types of opportunities to advance there careers. Talk about all of it that's my opinion. The harassment is terrible dont get me wrong, but women are harassing these wealthy men just as much as they are being harassed.
the difference is in agreeing to it and being made to do it.these will be investigated only when someone speaks up. investigation finds out how true or false the claim is. it's public's mistake of they get hostile and ill treat a person just coz he/she is accused of some crime. we need to stop passing judgements before the investigation ends
She didn't expect harassment? She told her experience in LA trying to break into broadcasting with an executive forcing her head in his lap, prior to the Fox gig.
The funny thing about all the “celebrities “ after they get on the top of the world they complain about everything... why they didn’t make this telenovela when was happening?! And this is bravery? Please....
precisely the reason why she bore the years of harassment collecting evidence coz there would be so holier than thou ppl not believing her neither ready to investigate honestly for her.
Gretchen Carlson is the wonder woman💪💪 of today because of her sad ordeal the work place hopefully has changed for the better & if she lied when she was doing her job that's fox news not her she was just doing her job like most of do every day because we need the paycheck it's sad but true I love how she brought awareness of things the people don't want to talk about ever specially the news...I been knowing for years that the news lies all the time 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Why is every one here ignoring the fact that she was "a brave hero" only after getting fired? Then she says we need to encourage more bystander training....she certainly came late to that party. Sorry but i can't put a halo on her head.
I struggle with this “coming out”. In the regards that the women making lots of money never seem to immediately stand up for themselves knowing these situations with men once attracted to you will go nonstop especially one so powerful. Speaking for myself I would have made my claim & walked out for my own sanity knowing this insulted my dignity.
easier said than done . as she said courage is not something u switch on/off. it takes a constant questioning and answering your dilemmas, ambitions, money, safety, unpredictability of future and many more
@@carmenwilley8858 I am not saying she wasn't correct in her work place sexism charge, I am saying I watched her many times and she has an inflated image of herself........100% and I always felt she was a bit nasty and classless (how do I really feel). She would not pass my stuck on a deserted island test, no f**kin way. Now the actress who played her on The Loudest Voice............yes, Daddy like.
how ironic that a man doesn't understand he is not being asked to pass judgement on any woman around , that too on comment section of a video where a woman has courageously stood up against sexual advances
No, it's not an excuse if men really sexually harass, but the hard fact is when you have an unprecedented number of women working outside the home these Thu us will happen. Slippery slop. And the more the hammer comes down on men the more tension at the workplace. Huge mistake having so many women not marrying and staying home with kids. Not popular to say, but I said it.
OkBoomer W It's 2020. Men and women need to learn to work together and respect each other in the workplace. Women have every RIGHT to work and be allowed to work without being sexually harrassed. It's 2020 not the 1800's.
gross. would all men like to completely stay home ,attend to home chores, and free the workspace for all women . clean up the country by changing the position ,clearing the so called sexual tension and see if men like that .
HR is NOT the friend of the employees coming forward! They’re responsible for protecting the company and management........they’re the best enablers!
Best enablers so true
Sharon Hovatter absolutely spot on.
Yip I've been there and done that.
Been there 💔
GIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
Brave woman and she went through a lot when she first spoke out.
Yeah Brave woman except this brave woman as you called her lied every day about what was going on in the country
GIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
If it wasn't for Gretchen Carlson there's no story...
Never trust Human Resources! They protect the company not the employees

Exactly
The male anchor is so silent and so uninterested
JJ YC I think he’s doing what all men should be doing, listen. Because I know I am.
He seems interested. I actually appreciate that he didn’t force a perspective. He possibly recognized that his experience was likely not the same as what his female coworkers went through. Marcus Baker, ew gross! Nobody wants a beta male. You're a man. Act like one and take charge.
JJ YC I think he was just listening to what she had to say. That doesn’t make him uninterested
He’s very attentive which is why he’s keeping his mouth shut
Brave and courageous Gretchen!
Highly doubt that Charlie Rose's absence from this 10/17/2017 morning show was coincidental considering he now stands accused of sexual harassment. CBS knew then and was protecting him.
Which INCLUDES these 2 females sitting there giving lip service to this issue.

You don't deserve that. They are garbage if they can't respect you. Also, true.. stupid too. Stay strong and good luck. You are something.
Gail will not let her finish her statements. It is more than irritating!
Gail's gross
Jeff didn’t want to be on board...
The part she mentions about how the woman loses her job while the perpetrator stays employed is so true.
I love what she said about courage not being a light switch
She’s amazing!!
Gretchen Carlson is a hero🔥
You notice they refer to it as the Billy Bush tape. Why aren’t they calling it the Trump tape?
Because Orange man gets away with everything!!! It's outrageous, disturbing, disgusting and infuriating!! There's not a day goes by I think is today the day he finally gets taken down and no he never ever does! Sorry for my venting.😀 you made a great point.
How could they not have ?

Lol
Gayle really isn’t a very good listener.
Ann Marie Parker I don’t agree with you at all...
I am not feeling Gayle.....
Is it just me or is this guy, really out of his depth in this conversation. Coming across so awkward, didn't even thank her at the end... 👀
Ndidi1st ✨ nope. Just you.
So glad to see this movement take on steam. Back in the 70’s I worked in an office at a glass factory. I was harassed daily. Victims had no voice whatsoever. Under current laws I could have owned that company!
Thank you, for your honesty, when I was working at a big co. I knew if I complained, I would lose my job!
And then she went on to Bully Miss America Cara Mund, what a hypocrite!
Is it fair to say she's an American hero?
Lucky Oswald I hate Fox News, but I would say yes, she is
as long as you r not word playing with 'hero' being masculine stereotype.
So much respect for Gretchen. This interview is so beyond awkward. I’d imagine that Gretchen felt very awkward and intimidated but you’d never know by watching her. I could never be in her position!

Jeff feeling awkward 😂🤐

Her voice is very calm
So then why are we fighting ?

You know!
Nobody likes to be mocked
She should not feel uncomfortable
And it should end immediately
And never return again
To make her cry and laugh her to scorn
They did
Ok maybe but how would I know
Bystanders look the other way.
If Gretchen Carlson was a black democrat, Gayle king would have been 10000% more kind, generous, and understanding, and more in depth . Instead, she was cold and didn’t give a crap .

I bet as they were having this conversation, the hosts were thinking about their past experiences.

It’s not just you is what she immersed from
Megyn K seems to get more admiration than GC but Gretchen was the 1st to come out with this.
Because we all say things like my business is none of your business
She’s still upset
AMEN!!!!!!!!!
Calumniation
A misrepresentation intended to harm or depict another person’s reputation
Why does she speak to them like they are idiots.
I got them
You are a hero!
love u Gretchen
She took d money
Is it all about business ?
What kind of business ?
this is the 21st century!

Of course It was worth for her, the abc company paid her 20millions
Andy Star she would have made much more if she could have comfortably kept her job. Ignorant.
And she deserved every penny. Your ignorant comment is the part of this problem. YES YOU BRO.
So brave!!!
Carlson is a liar. Getting a compliment on your skirt is sexual harassment. Give me a break.
She was getting harassed by her fellow host talking about her skirt and what she was wearing all the time
I noticed they don't do that anymore
Courtney love said over ten years ago on camera to not go into a room alone with harvey weinstein
She is crying
Right on Sis! Even tho I despise fox entertainment I mean news
We now have more women working outside the home than ever. The more we have, the more ...
Pirro would say that. Always mouthing off garbage. Maybe she envied GC. Who would want to touch JP or G Van
She didn't expect harassment? She told her experience in LA trying to break into broadcasting with an executive forcing her head in his lap, prior to the Fox gig.
Gretchen is a real role model and hero for ALL women!
can a woman sexually harass a man
Yes, they can be and anyone can be.
People have to stand up and say something.
RB RB Absolutely!
Yep. I did flirt my co workers.
Bill O'Reilly has a new bestseller!.. killing covid
yeah it was worth, 20 million worth it
The funny thing about all the “celebrities “ after they get on the top of the world they complain about everything... why they didn’t make this telenovela when was happening?! And this is bravery? Please....
It’s against Christ
Men are mean to me
You must believe women even without evidence.....
Indeed. Because women NEVER lie about sexual assault, right? Tawana Brawley, Christine Ford and that swine in the Duke Lacrosse case, to name a few.
Mmm hmm
