Hey, one comment for the viewer who asked for good anthuriums for beginners that aren’t basic….I discovered many in the Calomystrium section are pretty easy to grow. This would include the King and its relation: A. esmeraldense, and A. recavum, my two new favorite ones to grow in my house. They don’t seem to mind moderate drops in temp and size up quickly. Growing plants from seedlings is my favorite way to get the more challenging plants to grow in ambient air, without a cabinet or glass around them. If you are willing to hover over their watering and other needs a bit in the beginning, they adapt to the climate of your home. You can even get the more challenging plants to grow well in ambient air from seedling size.
I feel like since hybridizing is becoming so popular, we're going to start seeing more unknown/complex lineage that is just given a new name (ie KOS). Like i personally think that hybrids should not be given a new name unless it is a singular plant with distinct features whose propagation/circulation can be traced. I think more people should be culling/growing out entire batches of seeds and selecting the more special/unique hybrids. But that is not compatible with people who are doing this to sell in the short term.
Talking about forever to root... I bought myself an AOS Tezula Dark top cut - no roots. It took FOUR AND 1/2 MONTHS to root. By month three, one of the leaves died and I was convinced I'd thrown my money away. It was a very happy day when I discovered roots on that thing.
Watching some of your videos 2nd and 3rd time. Still enjoy them. Miss new videos. Glad that you are taking some time for yourself and family. Glad to hear that you and Archie are doing well. Alice was asked about you in a live sale. Take care
I think out of the hot dark anthurium, papillilaminum is the most affordable now. You can get seedlings of different ecotype crosses, which still count as a pure species, for ~50 these days. I do prefer crosses like that to selfed seedlings, selfing usually produces a weaker plant. Although the chance of variegation gets higher ;)
I really appreciate your videos. Lots of great advice in this one. I've recently jumped on the anthurium train and these videos are helping me learn so much.
Anthuriums plants seems to be very popular lately in 2023. I am not into tropical and adroids unfortunately cause of there growth structure. Especially Philodendrons and Monstera’s aswell. Also for some reason Anthuriums roots scares me and gives my stomach a queasy feeling. Alot of homes if you have the space you can do an extension at the back a glass conservatory where you can sit inside with plants if you live in a nice sunny country. If winter is cold you can stall heaters inside otherwise is freezing cold without one if you want to use it all year round. 2024 i am definitely focusing on more of the plants i love in my collection as i did alot of plant purge in 2023. Also want to have more easier manageable plants in my collection. This winter i don’t know why i had alot of yellow leaves on my Hoyas. My Hoya Deykeae definitely had the biggest causality which i was sad about as i loved that one.
Hi! Are you basing the statement of the nutrients staying in the leaves unless there's growth or the plant is cut on some specific scientific factor? I'd geunuinely love to know. Maybe your statement was left unexplained due to it being too self-evident to you. Love your channel, thank you for the content you give!
1:32:48 I don’t think you should feel obligated to offer something to your subscribers/viewers. I feel like you already do so much for your viewers tho, you literally spend hours and hours filming and editing just for us. You deserve to get something you like because you deserve it. If they offer you something you like you should grab it depends on what they want in return of course.

It’s like you read my mind. Bought my first anthurium this week and clueless about this plant.

Such beautiful anthuriums. I have one tiny one that hasnt done much growing for me, I'm probably underwatering. I'll try semi-hydro!
Where did you get the little cups for the seeds/seedlings with the lids? The parfait cups
Do you use cal-mag at the same time as silica?
on a cellular and tissuelar level 😆 loved that part
I don’t see the link to the KOS seller
Oddly interesting, my RC is doing the same exact halo yellowing with a perfectly healthy root system 🤔
Don't we all have a Lazy Box? But yeah, I am down to one (from three).
I just bought a KOS x BVEP seed and I’m so freaking excited 🥹
What is the lower humidity in your plant room vs living room?

Getting my first Anthurium today and I'm excited but nervous 😅
My Pon came with fertilizer. Should I add different ones ?
Pon comes with enough slow release fertilizer for 6 months. Don’t add in any extra for now!
Great Q & A repotting; thanks for sharing!
i think we should highlight non velvet weirdo Anthurium like the longissimulobum or the pedatoradiatum
The bessea x Lux is stunning. And the Lux sure shows through.
The Carla Blackiae is beautiful

It’s a friendly ghost that is showing you it’s there with you haha 😂
I didn't watch the vids in order lol 🥰
Anaerobic means without oxygen. You want to say aerobic for something that gets better air to the roots

You forgot leca layer in 1st plant
Ow! That hurt. Lol 😂
Two videos in a day? Must be Christmas time! 😍 Thanks for this informative video. Excited to watch your announcement video
I love buying seedlings/germinated seeds. It feels more challenging to keep them alive and healthy than buying big plants and I like the thrill 😂😂😂
Yikes! $200 is a lot of money. At least to me. Even $150 is out of my budget.
goodmorning 👯♂️👯♂️👯♂️
Spending over $100 is silly.
Only if you don’t have the money
