FOR CLEANING PON. Get an aquarium suction tube thing (for water changes) and fill a tub with water and pon and just suction the pon to clear out the roots. Makes it so much easier. But do it in bulk.
I just find Charmaine to be the most likeable, relatable person in the “plant community.” I adore her content, not only because her collection is amazing and interesting, but because I find her genuine and she creates from honest motives. And I love Alice too! Keep up the good work you two-you have no idea how much downtime “relaxation” you provide. And thanks. ❤
I will say, I’ve had friends say watching GOT for a second time around really helps make sense of it. But for me personally, I watched it as it came out so I’d watch a whole season a bunch of times waiting for the next. To say the least, I know it like the back of my hand! Lol ❤ Ahhhh you’re so lucky to have a spiritus and a flame! ❤
This makes me sure your itchiness and rash in the ‘week of’ video was definitely related to the increased exposure to the calcium oxalate from peeling so many corms as you weren’t scratching after doing one. I seem to escape a reaction when it’s only a couple of corms but with increased exposure it’s dire. Claritin barely touches the itching but washing vigorously with soap and warm water helps to dislodge the crystals from your skin. There is an amazing hand soap from Aesop which has super fine ground pumice in it which I now use after all plant and garden care.
7:21 I find that anthurium seedlings can be the best money maker. Depending on parentage, availability, demand, and how many seeds you get; a pollenated inflo could be worth hundreds up to thousands. Especially if its a boujee anthurium
i wish pudge all the best for his dental surgery ❤ depending on when this vid was recorded and whether the surgery is still ahead or not, i definitely recommend a second opinion or maybe communicating the issues with the cost to your usual vet. i used to work as a vet tech (albeit in europe), and usually there are some tweaks to the cost that can be made (for instance, lots of medication prices can largely depend on the brand that is used but there might be cheaper alternatives that contain the same stuff- or maybe other blood tests can be done (usually they're sold in 'packages' by lab companies to vets over here and some may test for the same values but are cheaper-- but definitely talk to your vet about what they would need from pudge for the surgery). usually the procedure itself is simple, but anaesthesia in dogs can be quite tricky so a lot of precautions need to be made, which is mostly why the price for dogs is so high compared to e.g. rabbits or cats. 😢 get well soon, pudge!
LOL the way I knew exactly what you were doing when you took your lid off your coffee at the start 😂 even with straw and lid, never safe. You truly never ever know.
To the show dark, I had the same problem you had, being confused about what happened, so I made my own family tree with a little look description of each person and years they were in. It really helped, and I could finally really really enjoy what I was watching
I actually learned a lot about alocasias from this repot! These plants are stunning, I hope you show us what the corms look like once they start growing!
I became fully obsessed with the A. Scalprum when I first saw it on your channel! They’re scarce in the States (at least on the East Coast where I live) but I was able to ask a local plant shop to order some and I finally got my eager hands on one! Been obsessed ever since 🖤
I *love* scalprum and they are super hard to find in the US. They finally started selling them at The Plant Farm and I got mine last week. Super small, but in great condition though. Good luck with Pudge’s dental surgery. He’s such a sweet boy!
Thanks for doing this with us! I always pick up new tips and feel like I have someone right there with me whenever I’m doing my plant chores. I also learned a lot about Alocasias. Prayers and best wishes for your baby’s dental needs.
😅😅😅i think you're the daughter i never had. I so value your planty training. I never thought i would sit still and listen this long. Your humor is like my family, you say the funniest things and just keep going leaving your audience behind cracking up. I enjoy please keep going.
idk how pet insurance works in canada but we got some for our cat when he needed dental surgery which includes a yearly teeth cleaning, it brought down the cost of his dental surgery a TON bc it covered the anesthesia. Just an idea, wishing you bags full of money!
Me, me, I have lots of success propagating alocasias via stem!🙋 I just scrape them and stick into self watering pot in loosely packed sphagnum moss so they could stay nice and moist at all times. Got seven babies from three stem cuttings which were about 2 cm in diameter and 10 cm long each. And there are still about 15 dormant grows points, so I shoved those stems back in moss again. If I were you I would be sooo tempted to shorten your frydek's stem, not 10 cm ofc, just maybe 3 to 5 cm long cutting. That would be very interesting experiment!
UGH THIS CAME AT THE PERFECT TIMMEEEE. I was just about to start planting my succulent seeds and repotting my grown succulent seeds and repotting my houseplants and thank god i can watch this 😩😩😩
I’ve had like a 50/50 success rate with stratum some of my corms or cutting rot in it because of 1. Too much water or 2. Not enough water. I find moss is definitely easier and more chances of your corms coming to life, it does take longer and that’s the part that sucks! Hoping all your corms sprout soon! 😊
Such a fun video. I agree that one of the best parts of having alocasias is corming! ❤❤❤ 🌱 I've only been able to prop from "stem" or the nodes successfully when I put them in a half open plastic cup of perlite with moss on top and put that in a small terrarium at 70% humidity and at about 75°F. Would love to see you try that and see if it works for you too...and we can see if it's a formula or just plain luck of the draw.
Yeahhhhhhhhhhh I am repotting too ahead of my Florida trip 😅. So many plants. I signed up for skillshare via you and it is very user friendly. I’ve watched maybe 20 vids already That worm is too cute!!
Babe, the planning conversation topics in advance... How you are describing it is how I felt when I thought it was because of my social anxiety but currently it definitely is one of the reasons I am seeking an autism diagnosis.❤
I couldn't find a scalprum at all . I mean I looked everywhere. I finally found one in Whistler and got it delivered. It is my favorite alocisia.......I got two just to be safe .
if you liked dark, 1899 was also good, it was made by the same people and is a bit easier to follow. Only issue is Netflix cancelled it after the first season :/
Perfect timing Just in time whilst I repot my beast of a monstera deliciosa heirloom plant It always looks smaller in the ad photo 😅😅 Now I think the aerial roots might need their own pot
5:17 playing like how many corms are in the plant is like plying how many m&ms are in a jar. And I have two dogs and it came up to like $1.3K for their dental work 😭.
On line there is a family tree for Dark . It is one of my favorites iv watched it a few times . The first time I watched it I read the subtitles, I didn't know you could put it in to English, lol. It written so beautifully, the sound track if fabulous as well .look online for the chart of people it's helpful.
I think in the past she has said she likes to use soil with no drainage for more thirsty plants that dry out more quickly since soil retains moisture better than a semi-hydro like leca or pon. Also kind of just trial and error and can vary based on your growing conditions and level of maintenance you’re wanting. Hope this is helpful!
I have a question for you! I am just breaking into Anthurium Land and I was wondering about your potting medium. Do you generally go with passive hydro or soil! Thank you so much for all that you do! I appreciate your content and I love the Pudge Cameos! 😂❤😂
Woot woot way to hit 17k subs ✨💚🪴😊 Another awesome video, I always learn so much from your content. Thank you for all the time and effort you put forth.
Question.. is it ok to repot a plant more than once a year? I have a monstera that is showing signs of outgrowing it’s pot again but I already repotted it this year….
Maybe the wendlingerii doesn't take up nutrients as fast/efficiently as the other plants in that area. Algea needs light and excess nutrients to thrive
Alocasia Frydek Variegata always my favourite but i am done with Alocasia now just too much work. If your looking for something new to watch and have Apple TV. Foundation and Invasion is good. Also if Star Wars fan Ahsoka on Disney. The Witcher season 3 if your into Henry Cavill his last season he be on. I know everyone has been obsessed with the Barbie movie but i am not really but it was my favourite childhood toy. Also Ariel my favourite Disney princess didn’t like the new movie. The Disney cartoon one will always be my favourite.
ive never had an issue with your audio, but think audio is something where some people are very sensitive to quality and others dont even notice. im definitely not sensitive to it, but ive seen the same kind if things with podcasts where people will recommend to skip the first 100 episodes or whatever because of poor audio quality, and that just does not register to me at all.
I've never had a problem with your audio. Keep the money and put it toward Pudge's dental fees 💙
I'm not even a minute in but I second this comment without seeing anything. Audio is always totally fine and regardless, doggo over audio always 🐾
Totally agree!! It’s not bad at all.
I’ve never given a 2nd thought to the audio. I love Charmaine’s content so much❤

I’ve been wondering if you’re having any fires near you. I’m glad you guys are doing good.
I plan my driving as well!

I like you audio. How are we going to hear Pudge with your ultra fancy new microphone? You need to give him one too!

My yorkie have them all the time. I always buy them that are already cut in half. The whole ones are hard to get to the marrow.
Best part of plant parenthood: going corm-ing 😂 yes totally agree!!

I've been watching Lioness. I am really enjoying it.

I absolutely l I've that 1st one u repotted!
AND...
your center back tattoo looks beautiful. I didn't see it that good but it looks cool
I put on a good movie with a tweezer and I pick out every dead root. It’s quite relaxing.
I couldn't find a scalprum at all . I mean I looked everywhere. I finally found one in Whistler and got it delivered. It is my favorite alocisia.......I got two just to be safe .
That was fascinating. Thank you.
I love that the spiritu sancti got table scraps 😂😂😂😂 also I’ve always thought you audio was really good!
And my birthday comes in September, too. Don’t forget that. Lol 😂 one more to add to your schedule.
That’s a new phrase: pluck and plop. Lol 😂
Ok can you do a video on making your peppermint spider mite cocktail though 🫣
Great repotting video; thanks for sharing!
If I lived near her I would single-handedly be paying for Pudge's dental surgery.

I had a fungus gnat land in my coffee the other day…. And I might have consumed it 🫠🫠🫠
If you were to get a P.O. Box make sure it’s listed as no unsolicited materials. 😊
I never can tell the difference between roots and moss. They look the same to me 😮
Your audio is fine 👍 put the money towards my sweet boys dental surgery 💚🐶 Thanks for this video. I appreciate you 💖
Sending her good juju!!
Can you please explain the difference of which plants need soil and the ones that don’t.

What is that product that you sprinkle on the roots?

I just got a baby scalprum for my birthday! I hope it looks as wonderfully evil as yours some day! 😈
If companies send you stuff that doesn't mean that you have to promote them if you don't want to if you get a PO box. But I get what your saying
I enjoy your videos ❤️❤️
Maybe the wendlingerii doesn't take up nutrients as fast/efficiently as the other plants in that area. Algea needs light and excess nutrients to thrive
I don't find your audio bad.. save that for after Pudge's surgery
Corm digging in the Wendi eh? 😂😂😂
I wish I lived closer
I would buy a scalprum baby from you
Charlie Hunnam was in Sons of anarchy, he was never in game of thrones 🙂
💚💚
Alocasia Frydek Variegata always my favourite but i am done with Alocasia now just too much work. If your looking for something new to watch and have Apple TV. Foundation and Invasion is good. 😍😍😍
I think the word you were looking for was "technically". Lol
Lazy Susan for repotting? Ehhh? Good idea, bad idea? Haha

Alocasias are never happy with anything you do to it x
