The Galaxy’s Last Line of Offence.
Enlist in the Helldivers and join the fight for freedom across a hostile galaxy in a fast, frantic, and ferocious third-person shooter.
URGENT BROADCAST - SUPER EARTH ARMED FORCES
Freedom. Peace. Democracy.
Your Super Earth-born rights. The key pillars of our civilization.
Of our very existence.
But the war rages on. And everything is once again under threat.
Join the greatest military force the galaxy has ever seen and make this a safe and free place to live.
HELLDIVERS™ 2 is a 3rd person squad-based shooter that sees the elite forces of the Helldivers battling to win an intergalactic struggle to rid the galaxy of the rising alien threats. From a 3rd person perspective, players use a variety of weapons (pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers) and stratagems (turrets, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and kill the alien threats. Players can also aim down the sights for a more accurate 1st person camera view. Combat is accompanied by frequent sprays of blood and dismemberment as players exterminate the alien forces or players and squad mates are hit by environmental explosions or friendly fire. Enemy encampments and battlefield environments depict bloodstains and dismembered corpses.

Discord is already data mining you for CCP, China. They own over a third of discord and have access to your personal information
Please put the link to Sony support in the description of the video
@@bh0llar702 another diver made the point that you can just make a PlayStation account regardless of country because you don’t actually have to use it for anything you’re still going to be using your PC. Another guy said you can make a virtual account. Personally, I would probably make a dead end email account and use it to sign up to PlayStation net work.
Far too much to say on this topic.
In short it's not a "I want the data!" issue. What data could they possibly be missing out on that steam has? Players literally play the software executable built by the developer, approved by the publisher. Not to mention that there is a bunch of back end work you have to do to integrate with Steamworks. Anything steam collects.... they already have access to. UNLESS it is platform specific information and even if a player did link up the Sony account, Steam still wouldn't let them access it anyway.
Regardless though to straight up brick the game on steam users is a dick move, even if it was pre notified that the account link was required..... let alone letting it slide for several months after launch.
While AH are the devs, Apparently Sony owns the Hell Divers IP and have made this decision unilaterally. I get the feeling from twinbeard on the official discord that AH have their hands tied here.
Sony talking about safety and security has to be the funniest thing I've heard all year.
Nah, as funny as this is, it's only the second funniest for me this year.
@@Brown95Pyou soy boy want Sony to stop the bad players making fun of you 😂
Their protection is useless yea they are full of shit.
@@Brown95P Then we gotta know what the most funny thing is
Whats funnier is Sony wanting to use an A.I to actively search for deviant social behavior and auto-ban you. This is stuff copy pasted directly from 1984, an Orwellian dystopia were big brother is always watching and is always right!
This situation honestly proves that no multiplayer game is truly safe from this kind of shit anymore
And that's really what we're blaming the Devs for. If they can't be trusted to stand up to Sony and protect their players, then we can't really trust them to not just be puppets for Sony.
@@Solkardthere is nothing devs can do here...
They do have one option. Gamers probably wont like it
@@Solkard what makes you think they CAN? sony holds the cards here. the devs could walk off but then they would be abandoning the game and their players at the same time.
If you use these 3rd party account based services yes. If you don’t then you will be safe.
I can’t wait till Sony goes "Technically, playing Hellduvers 2 online is a PS Plus feature so we're gonna need you to pay for PS Plus on Steam". Mark my words.
Don't give them any ideas!!!
This is my fear and I wrote it on my edited from positive to negative review on steam. If they changed their own words regarding the PSN account link for PC from OPTIONAL to MAY BE REQUIRE, what's next?
If sSeam tries to charge for Online play on a PC everyone will bail. We ditched our consoles already. We can live without it.
I would actually uninstall the game and demand a refund if that happens.
That's how they'll kill the PC version for sure.
Corporate greed. Shitting on their golden goose then ripping it open to try and find more wealth when all they had to do was be patient, lessons are never learned.
As I learned recently playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance and reading that exact story: Greed never pays.
Because gamers acted so mature right? Literally forming trolling groups to kill new players to the game, people who have no idea whats going on or care. Thats the reaction. We don't agree with the devs so we 're going to become the most toxic people we can be. We're going to ruin the game for people who have nothing to do with this.
Really classy, really showing those publishers why they should respect us.
What greed? If you got the game for steam, you were multiple times informed, that this will require a PSN account. (Store page, ToS)
Who the hell reads the tos and the fine print? Did you spent an hour reading that shit when you bought it?@@nugorra
Golden goose is 2k/rockstar.
If the PSN requirement was intended, then why did Sony sell and allow purchase of the game in regions where PSN is banned and not allowed? That's ground for refunds if not fraud.
Yup. That's the mistake that's going to cost them in court. Selling a product you know doesn't work? That's illegal in any nation you can think of and five you can't.
Not going to happen. Form India here..we only had PSN since 2016..before that we all made PSN accounts and played PS games. If we go by the ToS, all Indian PS owners before 2016 should be banned, but none are banned. Considering Indian gamers do not even constitute 1-2% of gamer population on PS today. I just reactivated my 14 year PSN account collecting dust.
@@drsawma This is so stupid. So i should have to play with Sony breathing down my neck knowing that technically i could be banned at any moment if they decide to crack down on it? I'm not entrusting my hours of progress to something like that at all. Someone from China was already banned today because of trying to use a VPN to create a PSN account.
@@Sorain1I wonder what the EU is going to say about this, considering that PSN is not officially available in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
PSN is banned and not allowed where exactly? holy shit people are talking out of their asses a lot lately, if a PSN does not have a certain country listed that DOES NOT MEAN it's banned or not allowed, Just select a different country, I have a US, UK, UAE and JP PSN accounts all created without VPN
It's a shame these empty suits are going to ruin the best multi-player game Sony has had in forever.
Let's not be dramatic.
Corporate greed
@@ianvincent3837 I remember Planetside 1. Bought it pre-release. SOE did what SOE did. Sony has a record of being the worst.
Lmao if they made it a console exclusive it would have been a smash hit that exceeded expectations like crazy…
AND they wouldn’t have to deal with this BS 😂
its because pc players are too loud, demanding, and entitled. just like all fringe groups in the US. these updates hurt the console gamer the most.
400hrs in and never came across a player that deserves a ban.
I've already had 2 separate players deliberately shoot and kill me in my seat of the pelican so that I don't extract. Maybe not grounds for a ban but it was annoying as hell
Theres going to be jerks everywhere in life. Not every match is the same and sometimes people will shoot you. Ive had it happen multiple times for stupid reasons and you dont hear me winging about it. Sometimes you need to chill and tak a step back. @@Xbitxx
@@diatomicdoyen5282 who said I was whining about it? I was just stating my experience. I literally said I don’t think it’s grounds for a ban, but just that it was annoying
@@diatomicdoyen5282 biggest jerk of them all is Sony. Maybe they will ban themselves? 🤔
@Xbitxx if that had actually happened you'd realize that you still count as extracted. Dying in the pelican is meaningless. Once you're in your Samples are saved and you count as extracted.
Getting killed before entering or getting kicked before entering are the only real ways to grief. You can get kicked after entering and still get all the rewards.
Whenever someone says "for your Protection".... it's never for your Protection
Always greed..
100%
When the game first started, it DID ask for a PSN account, but you could SKIP it. It was OPTIONAL. Sony's only doing this now because now the game's popular so they want credit for something they didn't do.
It technically was a grace period to deal with network issues; it was optional in the sense that things were broken as hell during launch
nah they want to sell the user data. Literally its the reason every company asks you to sign up.
For some reason, I NEVER got that prompt
@@annodomini2012even though that’s the case, they really shoulda made it more clear it would be happening eventually from the start. Instead they’ve dropped it without warning and the backlash is way worse then it could’ve been
Yep. This goes to prove that ppl dont read the fine print. When HD2 first came out you had an option to link or make your account now or later. Day one they let us know up front. Arrowhead is in contract with Sony so they're handcuffed to this contractual agreement. Again, they gave us a choice day one to link or make an account now or down the line. Proof that ppl dont read the fine print.
I hate the people not understanding the full picture. This screwed over a lot of people in countries that don't have access to PSN, VPN could bite them in the ass if they try to use it, sony's love of censorship .
The latest patch also made it so that NGuard will crash the game if it detects a VPN running. So that's a thing.
@@AvoCattoTV Honestly the latest patch crashes my game anyway lmao
So just buy a PlayStation five if that is illegal in your country stop following communists
Use the VPN to sign up for the PSN account. Then just link the account and play as normal. If the game were constantly doing region and vpn checks, then people in the "restricted" countries would've been blocked already, PSN or no PSN.
Update: Saw a post where someone claimed that it has been tried and will immediately flag a ban. So definitely don’t try it now.
@@Solkard dude, the other nine out of 10 people just complained meanwhile, you casually fixed the issue and went back to your coffee, golf clap
Nothing can bring back the amount of trust that Sony just burned. The unique relationship between the players and the devs is practically burned by no fault of either, because when a heartless suit is holding the strings, everyone at the bottom dances to their tune.
Well said
Trust takes years to earn and only a moment to lose it.
nah people will buy their Playstation 6 and their new games typical normie
Well what do you expect when 90% of gamers couldn't tell you the difference between a developer and publisher.
what do you mean trust between players and devs has been burned. they have no part in this and are in fact negotiating to help us more then helping sony
"Have you not had your daily dose of Gaslighting today? We can help with that!" -Sony Entertainment
It's exclusively for execs to report higher numbers of PSN accounts and look good for a bonus.
Anyone who's worked a corporate job knows that new execs have no idea how the lower levels run and desperately reach for any reportable technicality to justify their position/pay.
Ah yes, KPIs as a business model shenanigans. What a surprise... 🙄
That's why I hate big company. They are so lazy idiots.
Spreadsheet columns...
My psn account was breached years ago... shit isnt "safe" its clearly data harvesting...
1000% correct
You gotta turn on two factor authentication
Or trying to inflate their numbers for shareholders.
@@MichaelWalker345Two Factor ain't doing squat when it's a DATA BREACH
It’s not just this. It’s mainly to pad the number of subscribers they got this quarter
Sony: "We're losing PSN subscriptions due to Stellar Blade censorship... But wait, Helldivers 2 is popular, why don't we force Steam users to get PSN accounts?"
And it's not all that trivial. One of the Arrowhead CMs said that Sony wants to be able to ban players directly instead of having to go through Valve. Given how hard Sony has gone against "hate speech" "profanity" and even insults (calling someone an "idiot"), this could be about censorship and social control.
Ironic, really, in a game that lampoons censorship and social control.
100%
Gawd damn the irony of it all.😮
I guess Sony is the new faction we've heard rumors about. I doubt the helldivers are going to win this one. The opposition is just too strong.
I'm not going to create a PSN account, so it was an honor diving with you helldivers.
Arrowhead has made it as clear as they legally could that they don't agree with the PSN changes and if the community wants any real change to be vocal directly to Sony.
I'm 100% for shitting on the people responsible, just be mindful this isn't a devs issue; It's a publisher/executive one.
If you keep playing the game with a PSN account, then you are playing into Sony's hand. They don't care if you are mad about it, but do it anyway. Time for gamers to grow some balls. Stop complaining about these tactics and then doing it anyway.
If u want u can blame it on Arrowhead. It's they're contractual agreement with Sony. Dont be just upset with Sony, gibe that same energy to Arrowhead. They agreed to this. They should be on the grill with Sony. If ppl really care then on that date not one make a PSN account.
They're still Sony's bitch, doing Sony's bidding, taking Sony's money. They're far from victims here.
@jamescoleman1574 I'm inclined to agree with you, but keep in mind that they've been dumping blood sweat and tears into making this game for YEARS. Consider their position - I'm not sure how much wiggle room they had in this contract, but if it comes down to certain conditions to meet for Sony or not have your game published on a major plarform....business-wise, it makes sense. Is it lame? Yes, but I think it's clear these devs care about their playerbase, at least more than others. That's just my take though, I could be wrong
All Steam players should request a refund.
And here I thought I was safe from Sony's bullshit from the safety of my PC, wtf seriously?
5 years ago my PSN account got banned, there was no reasoning behind it, there was no way to appeal it. I lost access to over $2,000 worth of digital games due to it, I still, to this day, have no idea why I was banned. That ban lead to two things, the first is that I never ever buy digital copies for consoles and never will again and the second was to give Sony the finger and move over to PC gaming. When you said that Sony said "this will allow for people to get banned but also for an appeals process" i just laughed. Cya HD2, its been fun.
You don't buy digital copies of games... so you switched to PC... where you HAVE to buy digital copies of games? Make that make sense please.
@@MLPIceberg > for consoles
You forgot to mention that Piles statement with the link to the PSN page went specifically to a section where sony states that linking is optional.
And in a sneaky way, Sony changed what the page says to "some games may require account linking". It's extremely scummy.
Bro 200+ hours I never felt needing to block anyone
Exactly, adding all these “safety features” if anything will cause more toxcicity than ever, we never really needed people banned it’s a pve game, even cheaters didn’t grief often and usually just spawned things that aren’t released yet, harmless fun. 120 hours and I never thought I’d have to deal with this bs, I’ve only ever had 1 negative voice chat experience in game and I just told him where he could shove it like everyone should have the right to do, I don’t like sony, their trash censorship practices is the main reason I refused to buy a ps4 or ps5, and now I might have to give up the only game I’ve been playing for weeks, again because of them.
@@mclovin2408 well said Hell Diver 🫡

"Safety" PSN is one of the worst security risks out there. They've been sued for letting their customer's information get leaked before. This requirement is bullshit. Fuck Sony.
Arrowhead obfuscated the fact that the PSN login would be a hard requirement with their SKIP THIS STEP button. The box NEVER returned for me after I did that, and I saw no mention of it being TEMPORARY. Now, both of my refund requests have been denied so I had no recourse but to permanently remove the game from my Steam account in protest.
The obfuscation is ABSOLUTELY Arrowhead's doing, not Sony's. It's such a wonderful tactic to make someone else look like the bad guy, when you're just a tiny development studio and they're a giant mega--corporation. Do you honestly believe, EVEN FOR A SECOND, that they aren't colluding? This is the type of crap PR firms specialize in.

Personally I think Arrowhead shielded us from this from the beginning, there weren't "technical difficulties" with pairing accounts, they just claimed that so that the game could reach a wider audience because they love this game, even if they have a bit of a narrow vision for its experience. They kept the feature disabled as long as they could, probably thinking they had more time until they saw how popular the game got. They knew then it was only a matter of time before the greedy CEOs, who are ruining the gaming industry, would taint everything with their shitty practices. And there's probably a contract they hand to uphold that they can't afford to fight being a small studio against Sony. Hopefully one of those CEOs realizes Helldivers can't be successful if done their way and allow AH to return to the way they were managing it before. And hopefully AH can learn to compromise on their vision of the gameplay experience

Like another commented, Ben Franklin quote. And you left out the end of it. "Deserves neither and loses both."
I get the sentiment, but all of human civilization is based upon sacrificing freedoms for security. You enjoy owning property? You gave up your freedom to take other people's stuff. Enjoy not being murdered? You also don't have the freedom to murder people. It's a catchy quote that falls apart under even the most superficial scrutiny outside of extremely specific contexts. Obviously there are limits, and beyond a certain point it holds true, but people constantly invoke it well below that threshold as a crutch to support otherwise baseless arguments.

There are at least 5 other ways to handle this, one of which is just disabling crossplay except for PSN players who deliberately select it despite knowing the "risks." They could even limit it to 18+ accounts. They could even just remove crossplay altogether and I'd be happier than this stupidity.
Also, I have never once appealed a ban on a big platform and even gotten recognized by a human being, let alone have it actually reviewed and repealed. This is beyond tyrannical and will lead to ban abuse and ban griefing.
