The fact that Android keeps functioning on every device despite the multitude of combination of hardware and manufacturer customizations is a truly underappreciated aspect of the operating system. Apple's iOS? Of course it feels "optimized" because they only need to tailor the software to their own devices, which are very very few compared to Android devices.
I like this video. It's straight to the point, and i also like how you just justify android's features, rather than putting iOS down (Which is what people usually do in these videos) I would like to see a video of iOS and Android pros, cons, and things in common.

@@iriemonmon I mean, true but only when you're a software engineer who knows how to port or configure an entire OS with lots of free time. Really concise video, glad that you was able to really express these concepts in a pretty objective light. You've made a lot of good videos so for and am really interested in seeing how your channel develops!
I got my iPad for my college program and I’ve always been an Android user (Windows for laptops). And you’re right, iOS takes very good care of me. Especially Siri, love her. However, I don’t like the UI controls. I prefer Android’s typical tactile style, where as Apple barely wants you to directly interact with the device. I love the easy voice command, though.
@GayPrideTransPride Yeah, they can analyze my Siri commands as much as they want. Because that’s all it can do. I just use it for the weather and opening apps, it’s not on my phone (Android).
The main problem of Android is still the fact that Android phones get updates for shorter. But this problem is starting to be stopped because manufacturers like Samsung now also provide software updates for longer

On point #1, as a lifelong android user, I am always furious whenever the UI of the system, or even an app's UI changes seemingly for no reason at all. I can get behind and live with a major UI change every time I upgrade my phone, but some things should have a toggle and have no reason to change. Two things that come to mind are the lock screen clock. Until 13 (I think?) the clock read like al digital clocks do on the lock screen. After that, if there are no notifications on the lock screen, the clock is giant and in two rows... Stupid. Especially when the clock goes back to the old style when there are notifications there! Secondly, I did not like how they consolidated the wifi and mobile data buttons into one 'internet' button. There was a way to get it back, but that was removed in the next version. It's interesting to learn the perspective of an American user of Android! As a Brazilian, the vast majority of people here prefer Android over iOS, since it's a lot more cheaper and flexible than the alternative. Not only that, but our country has the most expensive Apple products in the world, due to high tax rates and cheap currency ($1 is like 5 reais or so). And because of that, Brazil's case is the exact opposite of the USA. People like to make fun of iOS and Apple users for being rich people. It's an overgeneralization sure but, it's also kinda true...? Anyway, to be honest, this "iOS vs Android War" is so dumb. "The best Mobile OS" is the one that is better for your preferred experience, both were made for different types of users, just like you said in the video, so fighting for "the best one" is just straight up pointless. About this video: It's pretty informative and I learned some pros of Android that I didn't know about it! I personally not into Smartphone OSs, but really like to watch your videos about then! I'm looking forward to your video about iOS! :D
That's interesting to read because it's kinda the opposite of what I'd seen. Which state are you from? “Android is glued together” Android comes from the Linux kernel, more specifically, Gentoo. iOS and macOS come from: - Darwin - NEXTStep - BSD - POSIX - UNIX - Mac OS 9 So, Android is a lot less of a Frankenstein.
You mentioning Androids being cheap was one of the reasons I was initially put off of them years ago. When I was getting my first phone for my 11th birthday my parents went and got me an iPhone 6. My mom did ask me at one point though if I wanted an android. I said no not because I hated android, but because I was worried that they would have gotten me a cheap plastic model. Had they offered me a Galaxy S7 or something premium like that though I would have accepted.
I think your the best youtuber to talk about android. In fact. i think you the only person/youtuber to not make fun of ios users and make fun of them for their kind of phone. most of the time i hear youtubers or people i know saying "IOs Is FoR pEoPLe WHo Are STUPID, SWITCH TO ANDROID iTS bEttER"
I've got to say this is one of the first channels in a long time where I just can't stop watching the content it has to offer, it's just made to perfection
I personally am an iPhone user since i got my first phone and i really have to agree with you in nearly any point. I also think that you should choose your os on which you prefer more!!
I feel like a lot of people think that every single android phone performs like those shitty $100 LG/Motorola phones you can find everywhere at carrier stores here in the states because that's what they were used to seeing or using growing up... because theres always been either very little or no senses of distinct "hardware classes" in the iphone world if that makes sense - like there's no apple made Snapdragon 4 or 6 series-powered iphone equivalent if that makes any sense
Finally someone said it OUTLOUD! Thank you for your enthusiasm for Android against iOS-ish USA. I have no idea why americans would judge other people because they have other OS than them?! That is such a wrong thing. Thank YOU for this channel and videos! Greetings from Czechia!
I got an iphone for work last year. On the same day I had to extract a zip file. I learned that zip files apparently don't exist for apple like at all so I returned it for an Android the same day.
my biggest criticism of android is how far it is from the linux kernel it's based on, instead of using standardized stuff used on all kinds of UNIX based operating systems for decades, google decided to reinvent the wheel also the diversity in androids can be a bit of a problem, i remember way back in the day when i couldn't play some games because thy expected the touchscreen to support more than two fingers, which my super cheap phone didn't have, when i know a lot about a certain class of devices, be them phones or specialized circuit boards, i usually opt in for the cheapest possible choice, because i know what i'm doing and what to expect, while some less advanced consumers may feel scammed as they paid for a device they expected to support something it doesn't generally the experience is more about what brand you choose, for example i'd rather kill myself than use a samsung with all possible samsung and google bloatware, that's why i choose brands that have something very close to stock AOSP also the status thing is a double edged sword, for example here in serbia, where a basic iphone is like 3 or 4 average monthly wages, many people buy status symbols like iphones or expensive cars, and it's usually the poorer that like to show off in such a destructive way, that's why the country with the most mercedes cars per capita is one of the poorest countries in europe: albania, so there are also many people like me that will judge someone if they own an iphone but can barely afford to live it's just plain stupidity and an unhealthy desire to follow western trends, here the culture of piracy, freedom to do whatever with your device, getting the most for your money, and even general hatred towards anything western, make cheap chinese phones the rational choice, xiaomi and huawei are extremely popular, so much so that almost all "loyalty apps" from serbian stores and businesses are published in the huawei app store, it's an interesting fact i accidentally realized
I get why the developers of Android chose to use things like SurfaceFlinger instead of X11 or Wayland (no) but they have changed so much they might as well just make their own kernel lol
I've been using Android since 1.6 Donut and honetly I don't understand why iPhones are as popular as they are, if anything they feel less user friendly, but maybe thats just because I'm not used to iOS
Apple has a big advantage over Android which is their ecosystem, all rounded is a nice idea. But, it traps you into following their rules making everything simple, seamless and pretty. But you never know what's behind the courtain. The consistency is also a nice touch, making everything familiar is somewhat appreciated. I tried an iPhone before and a first glance, it was alien to me compared to any android i've used from different brands. It made everything so simple, yet so complicated to use. Take for example the Home Screen, you have trillions of applications presented in one single screen, no way to select which ones you want on the main screen, the taskbar may work but it's not enough. At the end, I think it just comes to preferences. I choose and android with a simple custom open source rom. And because I do some development in here so, yeah it fit my needs. But I could perfectly use an iPhone too, the most interesting thing I normally do is watch RUclips and so some calls. But iPhone are somewhat expensive just to do that.
So good to see another video from this channel, how has it already been one year since your first video?! The way you articulate your speech is calm, inviting and very informative. Not once have I been disappointed by any of your videos! On the topic of this video itself, I am a "techie" guy, hence why I have the Galaxy S20+. Personally, I find android to be of more value than IOS as it is more customisable, mostly faster and different. Meanwhile, IOS users find value in their products because of their stability, security and familiarity. Here in Australia, IOS is by far the dominant phone OS, lately however, I have seen more android phones in the hands of higher-profile people, which is great! In my experience, my brothers iPhone 11 actually encounters more crashes and glitches than my S20+ does.
If you like graphical design for software you should check Linux's many desktop environment and window managers like gnome and kde there's a lot of design there
Been an Apple user all my life, but I've always had a lot of understanding for Android. There's no comparing the two operating systems, really - it all just comes down to preference, and each one offers its own great features. I for one envy Android users for having so much freedom, hah. At least iOS devices are jailbreakable.
Listen, I'm a huge Apple boi, all my stuff is Apple, besides most of my pcs, all though my laptop is a MacBook, but I have to say, Android isn't a bad OS. It gets a bad wrap because of some of the genuine e-waste some of the phones are. Most Androids are great, but you just need to find a decent phone. I used to have an S9 actually, and it is still one of my favorite phones!
I want my phone to work perfectly all the time, iOS is reliable and perfect for work. The only people complaining how bad iOS/Apple is are people with other phones/systems. A lot of iPhone users don‘t need to do this, they just happy with a working product and a top service around the corner with real people helping you asap.
Here in Europe, the iPhone has become more and more popular, but it certainly doesn't go as far as judging people by their phone. I love flexing with my transparent, customized phone knowing I've chosen the right thing for me
It’s fun from an EU perspective you get wired looks at you having an iOS Device because why you spend so much money if you can have an Android based device which can do it all for cheap (which is only partly true)
i think the real issue is just that android doesn’t integrate well with iphones. like green bubbles and not being able to add people to group chats with android users makes it less enticing to get an android because it is so inconvenient socially
the green bubble thing is the most idiotic thing that i've heard people say, that and everyone has more than one way to message people now so i'm sure they can make a group for everyone on something else. the problem just sounds so whiny and pointless.
Good vid! This is very interesting for me because I’ve never really used Android, other than in 2019 on a Galaxy Tab I used to use sparingly. I think Android is better than IOS but IOS just suits my needs so I don’t feel like switching.
I've always seen iOS as the phone for people who like straight forward simplicity, whereas Android was always for people who preferred customization and the ability to run non-standardized software.
As a android user. I agree with what you're saying if you don't like the style of android there are some ways to get around this and cheap android sometimes for more worth it than iphones you don't have to spend thousands of dollars just for iphone android already has enough features you need

Hey I love your content. it's just like the algorithm showed me the right channel
Love your content please 😘 continue the good work 🤠
I've got to say this is one of the first channels in a long time where I just can't stop watching the content it has to offer, it's just made to perfection
I always get so exited to see a new upload!!
You know its a good day when Undefined uploads
Such a nice channel this is. And yeah, while iOS is just one (iPhone) Android is a lot more than one (Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi)
I learned that zip files apparently don't exist for apple like at all so I returned it for an Android the same day.
a lot of these points can be reused for linux compared to windows
been waiting to hear more from you! excellent stuff
my biggest criticism of android is how far it is from the linux kernel it's based on, instead of using standardized stuff used on all kinds of UNIX based operating systems for decades, google decided to reinvent the wheel
also the diversity in androids can be a bit of a problem, i remember way back in the day when i couldn't play some games because thy expected the touchscreen to support more than two fingers, which my super cheap phone didn't have, when i know a lot about a certain class of devices, be them phones or specialized circuit boards, i usually opt in for the cheapest possible choice, because i know what i'm doing and what to expect, while some less advanced consumers may feel scammed as they paid for a device they expected to support something it doesn't
generally the experience is more about what brand you choose, for example i'd rather kill myself than use a samsung with all possible samsung and google bloatware, that's why i choose brands that have something very close to stock AOSP
also the status thing is a double edged sword, for example here in serbia, where a basic iphone is like 3 or 4 average monthly wages, many people buy status symbols like iphones or expensive cars, and it's usually the poorer that like to show off in such a destructive way, that's why the country with the most mercedes cars per capita is one of the poorest countries in europe: albania, so there are also many people like me that will judge someone if they own an iphone but can barely afford to live
it's just plain stupidity and an unhealthy desire to follow western trends, here the culture of piracy, freedom to do whatever with your device, getting the most for your money, and even general hatred towards anything western, make cheap chinese phones the rational choice, xiaomi and huawei are extremely popular, so much so that almost all "loyalty apps" from serbian stores and businesses are published in the huawei app store, it's an interesting fact i accidentally realized
I get why the developers of Android chose to use things like SurfaceFlinger instead of X11 or Wayland (no) but they have changed so much they might as well just make their own kernel lol
I loved this video, thank you, if you'd like to do a special video on Samsung and OneUI or samsungs evolution that could be cool? great video 😆👏
I've been using Android since 1.6 Donut and honetly I don't understand why iPhones are as popular as they are, if anything they feel less user friendly, but maybe thats just because I'm not used to iOS
babe wake up new undefined just dropped
Em, you can remove and rearrange apps from main screen on iOS
We literally have an ecosystem like that...this argument is tired as well. I wish it was in the video. Windows exists.
@@iriemonmonalso Google's Ecosystem >>>>>>>>>> Apple's Ecosystem
If you like graphical design for software you should check Linux's many desktop environment and window managers like gnome and kde there's a lot of design there
I am an IOS User. But i loved Android while using it. But i switched back to the Iphone because of the Ecosystem works better for me.
Been an Apple user all my life, but I've always had a lot of understanding for Android. There's no comparing the two operating systems, really - it all just comes down to preference, and each one offers its own great features. I for one envy Android users for having so much freedom, hah. At least iOS devices are jailbreakable.
Thank you for this great content!
Your content is top notch!
I've been saying this... FOR YEARS
Listen, I'm a huge Apple boi, all my stuff is Apple, besides most of my pcs, all though my laptop is a MacBook, but I have to say, Android isn't a bad OS.
I love this channel. I’m sad that I’ve watched all the videos now. 😅 I don’t think android UI is even close but it’s alright. We need a third option.
Anything you need in support to make more of these count me in!!
Here in Europe, the iPhone has become more and more popular, but it certainly doesn't go as far as judging people by their phone. I love flexing with my transparent, customized phone knowing I've chosen the right thing for me
awesome vid, cant wait for the iOS version
Yay new video 🙌
Omg, I missed this channel soo much, I used to watch your videos back then when you had 98 subscribers! I hope u remembered me.
I have no shame in buying higher end android phones but it makes me happy because of the speed and wonderful cameras.
