3 piece Kushala Armor + 1 Kushala Ice Weapon + as much ice attack up as you can possibly get in the build... the implications for the other elder dragons will be absolutely insane.
Oh. No. Doesn't make sense to get 15% more ice damage (frostwind 1 is enough)😊 when you can go for affinity which increase overall damage by 25% (technically better for daora weapons since its raw is much higher) (if you just shift your skills to LP1, WEX1 and CE1 which average a 12.5% total damage instead). Your driftmelts can also be more flexible.
One thing that isn't mentioned is that the Charge Blade is impact phial which except for the stun damage is worse than element phials. The total motion value for the SAED impact phial damage is 120 (24x5) whereas elemental is 135 (27x5). The damage difference between Kushala and Lagiana is about 5% even without the difference in motion value so I really don't see a reason to make it.
Funny thing is I actually did research that and I found didn't think it has much of an impact at all because it falls into the "not worth building unless its the Kushala Bow" thing. I'll go into more in-depth into that when I do the builds video. Your totally right that difference is what makes it meh.
For the LBGs what is also to consider (at least in my opinion) is to look at what monsters are weak to ice, Diablos, Black Diablos, Tzi Tzi, Odogaron, coral Pukey and Zinogre. All of these have the notion to move so damn much or jump around the field like crazy that it's so hard to effectively use the spread ammo that I switched to Legiana Bow just for these monsters before Kushala came. Now with the Kushala LBG they are way easier to handle since you don't have to run after these monsters that much. Also for TziTzi I now use the Bone Gunlance as I can block the flash and burst it's head away easier and that small body is bad for pierce ammo anyways.
That's not much of an issue if you get used to the spread/slicing ammo combo and just adapt to it. There are players out there using those LBG's effectively, but its nice to have an LBG with consistent range rather than playing to your range and the monster range at the same time.
Yeah, for me personally spread ammo is not my favorite choice, in world with a heavy bowgun, shield and spread 3 was really fun, but since MH Now cycles through ammo that's no use xD
Personally, I honestly don't See much Profit Out of the kushala Gear which slightly disappoints me :/ i did the Math for my Gear Level at the Moment and the best dmg Output i can get is with my current Ice atk 5 build with kushala legs for that 10% multipler. Each Ice atk lvl I Take away to get the Higher Frostwind multipler Just lowers my dmg Output, and many kushala Armor pieces have completely random useless skills in them... If There Is a unique elder Skill Like Frostwind IT should at least make the difference to outperform a Standard Ice atk build considering them being the Peak monsters
You’re actually spot on! Based on the data you won’t profit much at all unless it’s the Kushala Bow. But for sure a nice thing to have until we get harder elders that require a kush weapon or something close to that set up to take them down!

Maybe even a comparison between weakness exploit and artillery, because the rath Mail is the only part for some of my CB builds i could Switch Out for basarios for lvl 2 artillery

"Trust me bro" for my definition: is snapshotting pieces of armor and builds with zero data backing as to why you should make them. If you going to claim something is "the best" you hopefully have data to support your decision lol.
It is annoying that we have to choose either an interception or a Hunt-a-thon each 3 hours. Assuming that you can find one that has monsters you are after.
This is based off the most optimal generated build so Kulu legs are better right now. It makes sense because to get the most out of kush frostwind you need 3 pieces. In order to get high elemental damage you need high elemental base. Crit also applies to both raw and elemental so crit takes priority.
Honestly I can’t believe I put this together so fast considering all the data analysis I did haha. But I’ve been improving so it makes it easier! For sure the bow is the right choice!

Thats a good question! I think its going to be here to stay FOR AWHILE so you don't have to worry. But the pool will get bigger in August because I'm predicting a 2nd Elder Dragon then. Hopefully they just boost interceptions to make it easier!
As a Bow user: It will take a while to get lots of Daora items. Can I just go all-out on the weapon, or is there any equipment I need to craft alongside the bow?
You need focus 5 for faster charging. And the rest are Elemental attacks. Just for focus 5 3 armor slots are used. Coil for ice elemental attack. Armor barioth armor and basically its full without any skills left.
It is a nice looking bow, but I've been trying some other ice weapons and my go to now is the Ice Chainsaws. I'll get around to it eventually. But, I probably will make that Gunlance first. I just love me some wyrmstakes. Lol
That’s not really possible because it really depends on player skill and your loadout. Along with that, Driftsmelting doesn’t make that assessment fair. Not to mention that wouldn’t be accurate at all and could have too much personal bias. Example: I can roast Mizu in 24 seconds as my fastest time. But that’s with 5 driftsmelt skills. Melee likely can’t and will never match that time because they have to move and play catch up with it.
I kinda already did that lol. It really just depends on what weapon type you main. But even then unless your using Kushala Bow its close to Legiana so its not really worth it lol.

Actually it might be worth…those damage values consider the motion values, but LBG was just buffed so I think it’s totally worth going after especially with kush frostwind! I’ll do more digging because I rotate between blos bow and LBG nowadays!

TziTzi Helm G6 Lumu Coil G6 Zinogre Arms G6 Coral Pukei Waist G6 Azure Rath Greaves G6 This gives you Thunder Attack 4 Recoil Down 3 and Reload Speed 3. I do have a Thunder Attack Driftstone on one piece to take it to Thunder Attack 5 though, but that isn't a massive difference even if I didnt have it.
It totally is worth it. That’s been the bane of ice LBG for so long and why I personally don’t want to build one. Having to dart in and out of range is something I don’t mind doing but not unless it’s a Kushala weapon lol

Gunlance was in the data it’s still the same damage output theoretically out of the rest of the melee weapons. I’ll have to do more research to see where it tiers!
@@KINGOFCHARMANDERS My ice dualblades on 8-2 is like the only build that feels quite weak and had troubles with azure rathalos so not sure what to do yet with GL, deviljho should be strong but annoying to farm, don‘t get r5 materials to drop, would probably have an easier time against 3*zinogre and a.rathalos by crafting the bow I guess

Just do latent power, 1 CE, 1 WEX. Affinity at 50% with frost wind 1. Is better than 3 frostwind (15% ice damage only).

Gunlance was in the data it’s still the same damage output theoretically out of the rest of the melee weapons. I’ll have to do more research to see where it tiers!

Nah the Gunlance is good!!! pretty all of them are solid if your looking for ice its just ofc bow has to be op.. haha
@@KINGOFCHARMANDERS My ice dualblades on 8-2 is like the only build that feels quite weak and had troubles with azure rathalos so not sure what to do yet with GL, deviljho should be strong but annoying to farm, don‘t get r5 materials to drop, would probably have an easier time against 3*zinogre and a.rathalos by crafting the bow I guess
