    This is possibly my most favorite tune in the world, ever. Still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when I hear it, even 25 years later. Thank you for resurrecting it!

    Guru pays homage to Jazz, also telling it's history. Rap meets Jazz & this is just brilliant from Gang starr.     I latched onto this amazing album in 1990 after having seen Spike Lee’s film. I wore this tape out twice. Still one of my all time favorite “Hip hop groups..” RIP Guru.

    Can´t thank Gang Starr enough for bringing Jazz closer to People who don´t know (including myself). Now i know a few famous artists and already have some Cds by John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck and a fine Blue Note Sampler. They´re all very dope! Rakim once said he got this flow from listening to John Coltrane. Who ever thought this? Really interesting

      The song is from the movie Mo Better Blues,a Jazz movie from the early 90s,it's on the Soundtrack to the movie, there's another good song called Pop Top 40,where they makes fun of the lyrics, in the love songs on the radio stations. JazzyT.

It was released in 1990 through Columbia/CBS Records as a soundtrack to Spike Lee's 1990 film Mo' Better Blues. Recording sessions took place at RCA Studios and Sound On Sound in New York. Production was handled by Bill Lee, Delfeayo Marsalis, Raymond Jones and DJ Premier, with Spike Lee serving as executive producer. It features contributions from film stars Cynda Williams, Denzel Washington and Wesley Snipes, and American hip hop duo Gang Starr.
