Yeah girls just a dope MCI don't think people really underappreciate it that style and just his format until you go back and listen to it but so subtle and simple but yet so unique
@Reanna R except those dudes used only samples. Guru uses actual instruments in his Jazzmatazz albums, along wit The Roots, Deltron 3030, A Tribe called Quest and De La Soul. Multiple Hip-Hop artists do this btw instead of using samples to be more authentic. This style of Hip-Hop is a sub-genre called "Jazz Rap" eastcoast boombap wit actual instruments
@@elyknived3840 Me too bruh! I've been going back listening to the old skool classics like this here. Boy this brings back some really good memories. The parties, the honey dips and kicking it with the fellas.
Not to me. I never bought any Gang Starr albums, because back then I was an unemployed child. But I remember this track and "Trust Me" with N'dea Davenport. Trust, I will be digging deeper. Greetings from Trinidad and Tobago.
I'm glad GURU made this track featuring a jazz artist. So often rappers just sample great artists and they don't really get the recognition they deserve.
"Peace to the Blackbirds, 125th street and check the flow that's unique" my geography of Manhatten is second to none thanks to hiphop tunes like this and I've never even been there!
