On the car ride home from getting them I opened the box to admire my first pair of cool shoes and when I did, I heard this song for the very first time on Power 99 (Philly/NJ/DE people know what's up) and this song brings me right back to that moment every time. Where as in the 90s Rap was just Rap and all genres played in the same field. Went to the same events. Enjoyed Rap as a whole gangsta and conscious. We were listening to NWA and Public Enemy. But the Roots changed all that. 😔
