I was a high school student when this came out. I had no idea what a golden era i was living in and i naively thought it would last forever. Nonstop top level rap would drop every month, this was just "very good" then, but now it would be the greatest of all time! We were so spoiled and didn't even know it.
I tell my brother that all the time if I knew hip hop would have turned into this garbage, I would have took more care of hip hop more personally!! I took it for granted, I thought good quality hip hop would be here forever. I was dead wrong!!! Smh

The roots are a staple in in "rap" if you will. The talent they display is like none other. The lyrics are incredible. The live jam music, you can't beat it. I wish other so called rappers could quit copying each other and make real music like this. Thank you to The Roots. They helped me through Iraq years ago and they continue to to help me through my life.
