If you ever wondered, the biggest reason why Japanese players speak in Japanese is because their quotes are regularly aired in Japan on TV or reported in newspapers. Japanese MLB players’ biggest fan base are still in Japan, and they would like to reach them with their own words not with third-party translations.

Roki had a open mind it came down to :
    1. Top pitching program
    2. Top farm system
    3. Winning organization
    4. Drama free owners and front office
    5. Classy team
He didn’t want to play for a organization that’s getting rid of players not spending ect

Not a Padre fan but like Darvish and feel bad for him. He’s all class and a master but seemingly snakebitten. If not for tipping his pitches in game 7 of the 2017 WS, his career story would have been different and great. “So Close” and “Almost” could be his nicknames. Asking so many Roki questions is disrespectful to him. One or two I can understand but beyond that crosses the line.

People shojld stop panicking about the Padres and not signing Sasaki this winter. Even with Sasaki going to ghe Dodgers. I'd prefer the Padres rotation over LA and practically any other club. For now.
I understand a lot of fans believe Preller will trade Cease or King who are entering their walk years but no trade has happened yet and if Preller doesn't get a good offer may still have Cease, King, Darvish and maybe Waldron and Vasquez as the Opening Day rotation.
The Padres haven't been active this winter but unlike years past there are fewer holes to fill. There are only LF and if Campy isn't starting, the catcher positions.
I trust Preller should have thr Padres filled out by the end of Spring Training.
