    I'm a now former Mod and Ambassador of Artesian builds, they removed my mod because I backed KiaPiaa and the 2 others poor streamers that got done dirty, I then terminated my contract. I'm actually embarrassed to say I own a PC from them. Then the 3 attempted apologizes from the CEO were laughable. Also the company's FTB has been Forfeited according to records discovered by another person on Twitter. I spent 20 months with the company as a Ambassador and was mod for over a year. I was one of the first 50 followers on their Twitch, nights where the CEO Noah was streaming with no viewers except me. I kept him company so he wasn't alone. I feel like I've wasted over a year of my life dealing with them. Sorry for the rant, just wanted to give my input from someone who's watched them grown from nothing to something.

      @@ZE0XE0 I wouldn't say in the streaming community, there's just a major ego problem with the CEO of Artesian, and looking back, I can see when his sense of entitlement started taking shape, because of when he started working with big streamers driving sales up, his cash flow kept going up and up, and money makes people crazy, and the money got to him I think. Really said to see. But if you watch his apology video on Twitter, he doesn't care if you watch his mannerism and listen to his tone closely.

    Apparently, this isn't the first time Artesian Builds did this. This went viral because AB did this live. But on some of their giveaways, they disqualified some of their winners through PMs, telling them their subs count are too low for them to receive thousand of dollars worth of free stuff.

    • @randybobandy9828
      @randybobandy9828 2 года назад +28

      While they are scum for doing that they should have had requirements for qualification. I assume they don't have those requirements because they want every streamer they can pushing their products. If they had a sub count requirement they know so many streams wouldn't bother pushing their products if they didn't have the chance of winning a pc so when the winner isn't a higher value "ambassador" they disqualify them.

    2:40 Turns out there is something wrong with that: you're not allowed to run a chance-based giveaway that demands something of value from the participants, because that makes it a lottery rather than a giveaway. And legally speaking, producing advertisement value for the company running the giveaway does count for this. In fact, even demanding the ambassadors to have that referral banner on their Twitch about page might actually qualify as a requirement to do something of value to Artesian Builds. Even things like requiring participants to fill out surveys can be verboten if the resulting survey data has business value to the company. In the US, only State governments are allowed to run lotteries. And even outside the US, there's at minimum a lot of red tape involved in legally running a lottery. Not to mention private lotteries aren't just illegal to run: they're illegal to participate in. Getting caught up in this mess might actually cause harm to Ambassadors who just participated in it, if the US government decides to be a dick about this. So this stuff going high-profile might actually change the way these things are run in the tech community going forward.
    You can make it a giveaway where you just need to register for free, no additional requirements, and that's fine.
    You can make it a contest where the best Ambassador is awarded the rig, removing the element of a random draw, and it's also fine.
    But what Artesian Builds did was 100% a lottery: there was an element of chance that couldn't be removed by performing better than other participants, and participants were required to generate an ROI for Artesian Builds, which is obviously a consideration requirement. Which means all three elements of a lottery (prize, chance and consideration) were met.

    It's been a little over a week and I'm still coming back to this just for a quick feel-good reminder of how awesome the PC hardware community is.
    Thanks again Jay for being an awesome person first, and an awesome content creator second.

    What a bunch of derps! I was actually planning to buy a PC from them to support my friend's Twitch stream ( a small streamer like kiapia) in their ambassador program. Glad I saw this video! That's $5K they won't be gettin' !!!

      Yeah. It sucks that their CEO had to be a dock. Like, if they wanted clicks to sales, this dick pretty much shot the ambassador program in the foot because what he did ADVERSELY affects the entire idea of the ambassador program.

    Glad you jumped in Jay - sadly I see lots of this happening. The company see they weren’t going to get the kick back via a (thank you review) to her followers. You can clearly see it wasn’t going to get the exposure they thought they had (paid for) via a computer. Thus they didn’t think they were going to get their money out of her, which can be hardly called a giveaway at that point.
    It’s a real shame, glad someone like you watches for this kinda stuff.

    Remember your roots, by all means, but even more basically then that, both shops like this and individuals at large need to remember simple human decency. Being insulated by the internet as a buffer is no reason for Artesian or anyone else to engage in such shameful conduct. Must we all be saints? No, of course not. But we should all remember to be human, and humane. I almost forgot to say congrats on the fantastic build and your own generosity in this mess. Thanks for being an example of how it should be done.

    I've done business with Artesian - overpriced, shipping materials and packaging quality is disastrously poor, and they don't follow customer guidance or requests well at all. Needless to say, I no longer buy from them.

    • @mckrackin5324
      @mckrackin5324 2 года назад +12

      It's likely that no one will do business with them ever again. Artesian Builds companies are federally suspended for tax evasion as of now. That means, if you want to sue them, they are forbidden by law to defend themselves in court. You can walk over them. It also means they have no rights to their company name. If you want, you can start a business or IP and call it Artesian Builds. They can't do anything about it. I suggest all the streamers hurt by this go after them now. No delay.

    • @lordrald09

      @@mckrackin5324 Only a madman with nothing to lose would probably be dumb enough to start a business named Artesian Builds (at least as a PC builder) seeing how disastrous this fiasco is.

    • @mckrackin5324
      @mckrackin5324 2 года назад +4

      @@lordrald09 You don't have to do business. You can just create an LLC and claim the name. When they get out of court, they can buy it back from you if they want it but I doubt they will.

      @@jonathonrobinson6081 It's literally the law. I tried to link the law but links are forbidden here so I'll quote the most relevant paragraph.
      "What makes the suspension of a corporation
      drastically different from bankruptcy and
      dissolution is this: a bankrupt or dissolved
      corporation can legally continue to defend
      itself and prosecute claims, while a suspended corporation cannot".
      Google "The Problem of Suspended Corporations in
      the Present Economic Downturn" and open the PDF.

    Its heartwarming to hear there's streamers and builders that reached out and helped turn a very depressing situation around. Everyone had to start out at zero and work there ways up. I hope it diffidently instills some of positive feelings out there to others to help pay it forward when they see they can turn around and help someone out as best as they can.

If anyone is having issues with the 3080s locking the core clocks at 225mhz i guess its been happening to a few of them. Tried all the fixes evga recommended, and last ditch effort is rma now.
