Mercedes R170 SLK Roof won’t go down.

My Mercedes SLK roof won’t go down.
Today I decided to go for a drive in the beautiful sunshine.
Sadly, when I operated the roof switch, it lit up but nothing happened.
Frustrating! In my case it was a very simple thing to fix, but it was caused by something I didn’t know would be a problem.
Hence this very short video. If it happens to you, check you’ve got the load cover closed. I hadn’t.

Hi, my slk problem is the rear triangle window wont go up. The roof goes up and down no problem, but only the rear window. Any idea?

Sounds like a motor problem. It’s switched automatically when the roof is operated. You’d need to remove the interior plastics to have the motor checked out.

I have a CLK. 2001 roof has not worked for 10years..& I live in Spain. Went over sleeping police man.back headrests shot up. .....

It sounds like a safety system deployed in your case. Did you manage to get the headrests back in?

No.did all the suggestions.still not working.went to local m.b. garage. Cost to much in labour to take apart..
