i have just started jamming my new ddj-sb. and this tutorial has helped me advance from useless, to , still useless but noticeably getting better.lol thanks
i know im asking the wrong place but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost my password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
Favorite Part of the video 5:19 to 7:49!!!! Everything else was already dope!!! Thanks for sharing this with us! Finally getting a chance to understand why I love music 🎶🎶🎶so much
I jumped out of that exact controller to DVS for the scratching and here you are scratching better than me on a DVS , lol. Shoulda stayed and saved my self about 1500$
I HAVE TO CORRECT ONE THING-MIX MASTER MIKE DIDNT CREATE THE CHIRP-THAT WAS ALREADY DONE BACK IN THE 80'S WHEN JAZZY JEFF DID IT AT THE LIVE AT UNION SQUARE JOINT IN 1986.EVEN DJ CASH MONEY IS SAID TO HAVE DONE IT AT THAT TIME AS WELL SINCE HIM AND JEFF USED TO DJ TOGETHER AS THE TWINS OF SPIN BACK IN THE EARLY HIP HOP DAYS IN PHILADELPHIA(1980'S)
At the guy who said mix master mike created the chirp it was jazzy jeff who was pioneer of it and the jazzy was pioneer off transformer scratch. Mix master n q bert creared the cribb scratch but djs started calling the crab so it became the crab
ALSO JAZZY JEFF DIDNT CREATE THE TRANSFORMER SCRATCH-IT WAS STARTED BY A DJ FROM PHILADELPHIA NAMED SPINBAD IN ITS PRIMITIVE FORM.JEFF AND CASH MONEY SAW WHAT SPINBAD DID AND IMPROVED ON IT.
Hello ! It's the serato scratch sample that you get with serato : If you wanna watch scratch over electro-house music at a faster speed, check the 11th minute of my video ! Mixxology January 2014 : Dance (Numark V7 Mix) Love the Tuto BTW!
Pioneer DJ that's dope.....I'm currently learning how to dj and getting use to the virtual dj 8 software. my question is, As a come up DJ what's beginner instrument should i be getting or look for to improve my skills???
Hi Musa! That's great you're learning! A controller might be of your interest: - We've launched this starter pack goo.gl/P3S4Vj - Rest of controllers: goo.gl/OS6giL Hope this helps to take the best decision!
Great video.. Just have a question regarding scratching on XDJ1000s: Can I make that scratch noise? Because whenever I scratch it sounds digital and a bit mudded. Is there some mode I have to set it on?
Hi, I am trying the transformer scratch but I don't get any effect when I turn the cross fader with vinyl. Do you know what is going on? Thanks. Could it be hardware fault or driver? I am using macbook pro.
I'm astounded that there isn't one comment where someone is offended. This is insulting, and blasphemous. The fact that "this guy" can sit there and fraud this hard with a straight face is incredible.
+Kenteus Nenry How many videos do you have with this amount of traffic? It's not feasible for this man to be able to answer everyone's questions... especially when they don't pertain to what he is teaching... I mean come on, quit being lazy and use Shazam or any other beat ID'ing software... Ingrates!
LebannersHook my man... I asked a simple question... he can answer or ignore it. Idgaf. I was watching on my phone so a Shazam wasn't impossible. Get a life.
Kenteus Henry see that's your problem, you think he's ignoring you, LOL. guarantee he never saw your comment. Like I said with the amount of traffic there's no way he could keep up with reading every comment. And you clearly do give a f, otherwise you wouldn't be sitting here commenting right now. And if a beat ID software wasn't possible at the moment then why didn't you just wait? It took me all of a few seconds to figure out who the beat was using a beat ID software. Less time than you took the comment. And bro, my life is amazing! I wouldn't trade it for the world!
right in the beginning .....what does pressing the cue button in time with the tune and then pressing play do ? ...im used to just moving platter back n forth in time
don't you lose the queue when you scratch while cutting over? eg. deck 1 is playing song #1 and deck to is queued up at 15 second mark (to cut intro of song etc). when you start using deck 2 to scratch how do you keep the two songs in sync so that when you make the cut song 2 does not start too early or too late? does that make sense?
Can someone please answer this question for me? Will I be able to perform technical cuts such as crabbing and flares and use the pads like I do with maschine for cue points? Or is this controller more for mixing house with little interaction with the controller involved. I want something that can take a little bit of a beatingand from the looks of this controller and the reputation of pioneer I hope this controller can withstand heavy scratching.
I have serato Dj (not intro), but there is no option to change the cross fader curve like it looks on yours. My menu doesn't look like that. Any thoughts?
U don't mix from hip-hop to house music, that's ridiculous, the 2 ways u can go from one style of music to another style with a completely different tempo is to stop the song playing slowly like when u turn off a turntable & u can hear the record getting slower & slower... the other way is to add a delay FX to the song playing then stop the song while the delay continues & as it starts to fade away u drop in the new song.
+Renzo Doorschodt Yeah and I used 2 of the music styles u mentioned to use as an example, u can't mix different types of music with totally different tempos, if u try to blend the 2 extreme tempos the songs will sound horrible.... U can however sometimes mix some D&B with some hip-hop if it's half the tempo, for example like if the jungle song is around 170 bpm & the hip-hop song is around 85 ppm, that's half the tempo and u can mix the 2 together, now it depends on the songs & your mixing if they'll sound good together but the bpm will match.
I have one question about this... at the connection. Can I connect this to my laptop by the USB port? that's all? and if I have active speakers can I connect these directly to my laptop? thanks
hi friends from pioneer . I have a question I have a ddj wego and im thinking to change to ddj sb what do you recommend should I stay with the wego or the ddj sb is better? also i have Virtual Dj Pro Full can the ddj sb be used with it? thank you in advance. cheers
Ot depends on what feature you require, how you use it and personal preference. We would recommend you post on the Pioneer forums and get some feedback from other users to help you make your choice. forums.pioneerdj.com/home
Vicky Divine Yeah the DDJ-SX & DDJ-SR r dope for real DJ use, anything less is cool just to play with at home & for beginners. I have turntables & a Traktor Z2 but i just got the DDJ-SR and as dope as it is now I want to maybe trade it in for the more professional DDJ-SX with the built in mixer & it's own power cord, instead of my DDJ-SR sucking power from my macbook, I don't like the idea of that when it comes to professional use or recording and if my serato software or computer was to freeze it would totally suck without a real built in mixer to play an outside source like an ipod or iphone in the meanwhile!
Aqua | Fresh™ The DDJ-SB is cool for playing around but not really that good for real professional use, dope entry level controller for beginners but u get what u paid for... if u spend under $500 for a DJ controller you're basically getting a cool little toy to play around with at home & not a professional piece of DJ gear, it's only logical!
+Fresh™ $300 is nothing for important music equipment, before these new controllers u had to spend about $1000-$2000 for professional DJ equipment like turntables & a mixer or CDJs & a mixer, that's not counting the speakers & lights if u wanted that, nowadays u can get a dope professional DJ setup for $500-$1500 thanks to these new controllers, so anything under $500 is just a beginners toy, I checked them all out last year 2014 when I bought my pioneer DDJ-SR ($600).. and as dope as that controller is I now wish I had bought the more professional Pioneer DDJ-SX2 ($1000) or the Numark NS7ii ($1500), in my opinion the 2 best DJ controllers out in 2014! In a way when things r more expensive/less accessible it keeps out the wack imitators who r not serious about this & in it for the trendiness and it brings in those people who really want this & worked hard to get this cause they really feel it...just like back in the day u had to go all out if u wanted to make beats & spend like $1500-$2500 for beat machines or keyboards but now any wack imitator can buy a cheap $100 software & think they're a producer! lol
You can do both options. The MASTER OUT terminal (RCA pin-jack type) allows a speaker connection. You have all info on page 7 of the manual: goo.gl/RLv8Xe You will need then to configurate the audio from the software you're using.
I had just got myself the Pioneer DDJ SB 2 now I'm in the market for a laptop but I I'm not exactly sure which laptop to get anybody have any suggestions on the best laptop to use for this controller any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated as soon as possible thank you very much
Wow Pioneer you got this was TOTALLY wrong... The right that is 'Evening Melancholia' by Solaris & the left deck is 'Roughed Edge' by Central Parks... this is why I ONLY mix with Numark because at least they know what they're talking about with the music that using tutorial videos
+ry Mac...umm Ok..? ... but like I was saying.... They got the SONGS WRONG... if they are going to list titles in the description they AT LEAST need to be correct.
THANK YOU, hard enough trying to learn by trying to reproduce what is being done and they list the wrong samples song names! thank you again helped me master his techniques by audio matching him to myself
Hi! Two tracks don't have to be in the same key to mix them together. The most important thing is to match their tempos. It's only important to match their keys for mixes where the tracks play together for a long period of time.
i have Feeling that my console is too fast if i want scratch it goes very fast over the sample or sequence. i try to start the console in Setup mode and slow down the backspin but seriously i dont see or feel any differnce. Need help with this
+Jozef Vladovic You can go to the setup button on your software and change the USB Buffer Size (Latency) to 64/1 or 128/2 to slow the scratch latency. This will get you the sound you desire.
Okay so I have never touched any DJ equipment before so I'm really a beginner. I bought this but I don't understand what program I should use to actually mix and upload my music onto. I tried Virtual DJ v.7.4 however I doesn't detect the mixer. Help anyone?
bro pleas help me before one day i bay dat ddj sb from onlline pionner page... and my laptop is acer aspirine one is a little laptop and serato dj intro dont wannt to open on my laptop my laptop skin 1024x600 and serato dj need big skin so pleas help me ... cuz i try virtaul dj pro full dat one is not open too but traktor 2 is open but i plug the cabels but i can not mix with my ddj sb so pleas tell me some thing !!! tnx :) i download every think for ddj sb but not work
Way back in 1987 I had 1210's and scratched and mixed old school hip hop. I've just started again after 30 years! with a Numark IDJ Pro and I'm finding it difficult. Firstly, its a different technique as a 12" record has a larger diameter than a small gog wheel and its easier to do the Colley scratch. It jsut seems more difficult on the controller to do everything. The cuts dont seem as sharp or clear or have a great attack. Has anybody else found the same when transistioning from one to another? And damn I used to be good...
as I mentioned before I just got myself glee pioneer ddj-sb 2 now I have one question is it supposed to come with a desk that I put into my laptop so I can download Serato? That is my first question and my second question is I had just picked up a Hewlett Packard envy m6 convertible laptop it's a 6th generation Intel Core i5 processor 2.3 gigahertz 1 terabyte hard drive and 8192 megabytes of RAM which includes windows 10, touch screen multi touch enabled and is 15 inches, now assigned to the size of the screen is the processor hard drive and gigabytes enough to run Serato and any if not all the music I want? any and all answers questions or comments would be greatly appreciated thanks a lot everyone out there
+Ryan Humphreys Hi the software can be downloaded from Serato.com you can watch a set up tutorial video here www.pioneerdj.com/en/product/controller/ddj-sb2/black/video-images/#info and you can find the system requirements for the DDJ-SB2 here www.pioneerdj.com/en/product/controller/ddj-sb2/black/specifications/ We hope this helps.
The instructor did great job explaining all techniques..bravo..I definitely liked it and the controller is nice..salute pioneer..no doubt 100%

I jumped out of that exact controller to DVS for the scratching and here you are scratching better than me on a DVS , lol. Shoulda stayed and saved my self about 1500$

Hello friends, Can anyone tell me how the song is called to scratch?
Hi, I am trying the transformer scratch but I don't get any effect when I turn the cross fader with vinyl. Do you know what is going on? Thanks. Could it be hardware fault or driver? I am using macbook pro.
What happened to the other guy that was in the tutorial for all the other vids
Great video this helps out a lot
Your guy is totally wrong, Dj Jazzy Jeff invented the Transformer scratch not the chirp
I'm astounded that there isn't one comment where someone is offended. This is insulting, and blasphemous. The fact that "this guy" can sit there and fraud this hard with a straight face is incredible.
great tutorial!
you. are. lovely. i love this thanks
Hey what sample are you using for the scratching ?
Kenteus Henry don't you hate it when they put upa. Video to help us and never answer questions?? Smh

are u able to cut off the rewind /fast forward strip above the jog and under the fx effects?
are you agree about the Crossfader configuration ?
what kind of sample were you using? was it an actually part of a song, or a sample track?
i have a question!! how should my settings look like and my dj prefrences so my scratch sound like that and i start the track like you did at 3:52
I have serato Dj (not intro), but there is no option to change the cross fader curve like it looks on yours. My menu doesn't look like that. Any thoughts?
Go to the preferences menu and see if it's there
hey pioneer! can u make a video on how to mix from hiphop or house to dnb??
We have passed you comments on to the production team. Thank you for your feedback.

I had just got myself the Pioneer DDJ SB 2 now I'm in the market for a laptop but I I'm not exactly sure which laptop to get anybody have any suggestions on the best laptop to use for this controller any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated as soon as possible thank you very much

Also i forgot to mention that you wont need a powerful laptop practically anything will do

Hi! Does the two tracks have to be in the same key to mix them together? thx
Hi! Two tracks don't have to be in the same key to mix them together. The most important thing is to match their tempos. It's only important to match their keys for mixes where the tracks play together for a long period of time.
Pioneer DJ I see. That helps. Thanks a lot! :)
