Another, "I don't know what I'm talking about and can't remember anything but I'll post this anyway" video on RUclips. Yowza!
Except I read my comments and reply. What's your genius suggestion to improve content, or are you just here to be a jerk?
I love it! You can't take criticism! That rounds off the fact of being a "load-in-the-pants" with a whacky RUclips channel. Stay dumb my friend. It's entertaining!@@BelLavoroAutoSpa
@@unacarafea567 I literally just asked you for ideas. That is the definition of taking criticism. Apparently you can't. I'll keep your comment pinned for everyone else to laugh.
YOU should come up with "ideas". It's your channel. Not mine. Go by what I first posted if you can't come up with your own ideas. If you think your response was a legit asking for ideas, you are worse off than I thought. You are an angry dude on RUclips. @@BelLavoroAutoSpa
@unacarafea567 I come up with plenty of ideas do you see how many videos I have? You're here flaming me but have no suggestions, says a lot about how bright you are. I'm an Army veteran so yea I guess I'm an angry dude. Oh well.
Thank you for the time, effort, and expense for this massive test!
Thank you for watching!
above and beyond testing
Thank you!
Thanks for confirming what we know about Collinite! I've used it in the past, and still will apply it as an additional layer of protection on a vehicle. It's good stuff that I have gotten away from using recently.
Can't go wrong with it.
the key with simonize is to apply and wipe off after 5 minutes or so. Very light coats also help. No matter what you do it will never be easy, just bearable. I have a can of megs ultimate waiting for use, glad to see it did well.
yea I figured user error and it had to be a quirky wax. works really good though.
I used that meguiars gold class premium paste wax on my car, I maintain it by washing it once a week and and hitting all the exterior with a quick detailer ( not a ceramic quick detailer) after. That wax is still on and beading like the day I waxed it after 5 months now.
I discovered Collinite by chance (in a magazine advertisement I think it was in one of the car magazines like Car and Driver) about 25+ years ago and have used their waxes ever since. I personally think their Super Double Coat (#476) is the best wax they have. A lot of people use the 845 due to it being more of a liquid wax (and has been hyped up significantly over the past 10 years) although I think it's way more oily than the paste and the paste Super Double Coat is a better wax overall and it last's MUCH longer than 845. The ultimate is probably Collinite Super Double Coat 476 topped with 845 a few days later after the Super Double Coat sets up for a few days. An excellent combination. Thank you Martin for taking your valuable time putting together this test. There were definitely a few surprises in your test as far as the ranking. Always enjoy your honest reviews.
Thanks Joe glad you enjoyed it.
I worked at a car wash back in the day, and we had a customer whose car always beaded like crazy. I asked him what he used and he said "Collinite in a white tin".
It withstood having mechanical brushes hitting it.
These days, if im applying a wax, its for the rich warm look with durability not as important. That said, i do expect some protection of at least 6-8 weeks. 3D Poxy is my favourite for looks. It gives immense darkening effect with a very wet look on darker colours whilst giving a couple of months durability. Its also so fast and fun to apply when you use the machine to apply it. I bought the GLW Ceramic Wax and whilst it seems a little more durable and tighter beading, i do prefer the looks of the Poxy.
Got me a can of Collinite 915 I love it…I used 845 before but now I’m interested in the the super double coat and 476s. Thanks Bud!!! Love the review!
No problem glad you enjoy the content. This video was pricy but worth it!
@@BelLavoroAutoSpa I really do! And I thank you and appreciate it very much! I’m more of a good old fashioned wax person rather than fancy ceramic or graphene etc just personal preference and not many channels dedicate in depth wax content like yours. Again thank you very much and I’ll keep watching. Subscribed to your channel.
Thanks for this video! I’m glad I got the 476s. Butter wet wax I will maybe just use on the rims, I don’t want it to go to waste lol.
i use 476s today, that thing took forever to buff off lol. Seems very strong. I will use this once a year. I put it over a ceramic coating i added to the car a few days ago.
Good vid good test! Good to see [mostly] genuine waxes [and a few blends] that are generally available/accessible/affordable being tested. The waxes here are little-to-never seen being highlighted or tested on RUclips ALTHOUGH according to sales statistics are still popular. Wax still has its place...
Respectfully one caveat please - it was mentioned how difficult the Simoniz was to remove. It was mentioned that all waxes were on the panal for about 30 minutes before removal. I understand that was for the sake of continuity and convenience, but...per directions on the Simoniz it is recommended that NOT happen and it should be removed quickly after applying. I use Simoniz Paste somewhat regularly and appply/buff either one smaller panel at a time [door] or 1/2 of a larger one [hood/roof.] With that being said, also making sure all surfaces are smooth and contaminant free - application and removal of Simoniz Paste is not difficult at all. And, it really does leave a killer shine plus as the vid showed - pretty tough stuff. Loved the vid & content!🙌
Shine on you crazy diamonds!
Yup, I did mention that it was probably user error, but that also goes to talk about how user friendly it is or is not. Wouldn't be as easy to do that to a whole car vs another you can apply to the entire vehicle and then come back and wipe off. Still a great product which is why it ranked where it did. Now I gotta find stuff around the house to use these waxes on lol.
Adam’s doesn’t claim longevity on the butter wax. It’s more for show cars. Other RUclipsrs have picked it over Chemical Guys butter wax.
Collinite makes some durability rock stars for waxes for sure.
Great points, I did mention that it looks great and is slick, but wanted to make sure we tested every aspect! The price for performance could be better though compared to some others.
Colli 476 or 845 on a prepped (degreased) surface lasts an entire winter. Cheap and superb quality.
Thanks a lot for this, I hope the expense was worth it! As a carnauba wax newbie I've read great things about Megs 26 going back decades now and apparently it still stands out for its darkening effect for that deep wet look on black and dark colours. I've also seen Megs Deep Crystal liquid wax produce a super finish but I've heard that it doesn't cope well with hot weather. So going by this torture test the 26 should be good for at least a month or two.
Thank you! Making content for everyone's benefit is always worth it.
Deep Crystal Carnauba is the consumer version of M26.
The very 1st wax i used was griots poli wax. But i dont think it exists anymore. But i loved it
they have the foaming poly gloss still I believe
damn it man you've got me going down a wax rabbit hole I never cared about before! lol I'm really interested in Vonixx now since they actually own their own farm and it's all inclusive on their part.
welcome to the money pit! vonixx is definitely a great choice. their paste wax as you can see is very good. their ceramic blend wax is also very good. they even have a cheaper t3 type wax that i have not tested. I LOVE their ceramic blend AIO polish and wax that stuff is awesome.
@@BelLavoroAutoSpa yeah I was originally Jude going to go with 3D poxy / speed, which I am still interested in, but now I’m leaning towards this. Well honestly I was just going to stick with ceramic coatings. Damn! Lol. This really is an addiction. I totally blame you. Lol
@@damiansutube at least its not drugs, that's what I tell my wife.
It cracked me up when you were talking about the tar-X and not using it in the test. Your words said because that will clearly kill any waxes, but your voice said because that would be like nuking it from orbit.
Man it would have ended things for good in this test lol
Won't kill fusso soft99 original
@@totallyrandomstuffandrevie9609 oh yes it will
@@totallyrandomstuffandrevie9609 it's gnarly stuff. They make it with a glowing color tracer just to make sure you can tell everywhere it's at and make sure to remove it.
I don't even like letting my towels with tar-X or Kcx eulex dry in the garage with me. If I'm still in there working I put them out to dry away from me.
It may not completely kill it in a single blast but tar-X, eulex, and citroll never let me down in completely removing a sealant.
Great test and review!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks this was definitely interesting. I think waxes still have a place for those that don’t want to compound/polish especially. I wonder what your opinions are on their rankings as far as filling capabilities? Thanks!
I think they are ALL great at filling. Waxes applying thickly is their strong suit as they fill easily and can make swirled up vehicles look immaculate with minimal effort. I didn't see much difference from one to the other. The panel was actually covered in compounding haze from a wool pad so you can see how well it took care of that.
@@BelLavoroAutoSpa thanks for that response I really appreciate it. Do you feel wax is still a valuable option to provide customers? It seems like in my area almost everyone has moved almost exclusively to pain correction and coatings as a one size fits all solution. What do you think?
I think keeping a luxury wax on hand is a great service to have for people that want it, and then apply with a DA. I would charge more for it than a standard sealant because of the labor involved.
The Collinite 476S can last 6 months to a year, it's just a super pain in the rear to apply.
Mothers wax is my favorite
I’m surprised at the chemical resistance of most of these to be honest, lots of current “ceramic” products would have failed. For a person doing there own vehicle and that have time wax is definitely a enjoyable activity, for a detail shop where time is money there are superior products that save time and last. The only “wax” like product I have is fussy coat soft 99 original but it’s vary early used mainly on classics after correction depending on what the cars purpose is.
I was pretty surprised too. The ones that did the best of course are polymer or polymer infused. There are a lot of crap ceramic products out there just capitalizing on the buzz word as well (topcoat f11) so that is not surprising. Of these more durable products it really just comes down to how you prefer to apply, your price point, and the type of water behavior you prefer.

Never thought formula 1 wax will make it to 2nd place
I was surprised too
Looks like that Colonite rep is well earned.
Absolutely
I like 3d poxy
What was your reason for doing this test? I guess if you have a garage queen and did not rely on durability?
My reasoning was for anyone who likes using these waxes to compare to others
My friend, all those waxes are good, but they are toys. I have tried these waxes in large part, but there are many that make a BIG DIFFERENCE, and the best wax in the world and more durable WITHOUT ANY DOUBT, is the Japanese Soft99 Fusso Coat, it is the best wax in the world, very close to a coating. The old formula was even more durable. Now, the second in duration is curiously an American product and in liquid format and very cheap, the Turtle Wax Seal N Shine, of extreme duration, FAR SUPERIOR to Collinite, and not to mention Meguiars and other brands. They beat up the rest of the waxes in a torture test.
The point of this test was to use waxes, the most popular ones for consumers. I'm well aware of fussing. It is a PTFE coating. Very good but not comparable to carbauaba and polymer waxes. Seal N Shine is also a spray sealant, not a wax. Have used it plenty of times. Click on my channel and you will see the sheer amount of products I have tested.
Seal N Shine is not a very good product. It’s below average in almost every attribute except short term chemical resistance testing where it excels.
There’s a lot more to protection than just chemical durability. In fact that’s probably one of the least important properties unless you are spraying degreaser on your paint frequently.
@@yanniobkirk5744 chemical resistance is an important factor for driving in the rain. Nasty stuff dissolved on the road splashing all over the car

😂😂, suckers.. people buy targeted car waxes.. I've been using the same paste wax from family run mom n pops place for over 40 years. My cars paint appearance is as it was 3D.. I'm always asked at cars n coffee or shows what I use. If I like the person? I may disclose what I use and where to get it. I actually shrug off 98% of people.. efem.. some think I car was painted.

Carnauba wax is NOT polymer wax!!! Pure carnauba was just has wax and nothing else! Kind of hard to believe your review when you can't even get the terms right!!!
I know that bud. Some of these waxes are pure carnauba, some of them are paraffin, some are polymer, and some are a blend. I'm not so sure you understand the terms.
