Excellent video, cleared up a lot! One thing I need help with. In your recent games it shows roms, I can play roms but only on Yuzu so it only shows yuzu as recently played. How do I get the rom game image to show up like you have it?
If you’re on the beta SteamOS that released today then Decky is not currently compatible with it. Switch back to the Stable client and it should pop up.
Saw a bunch of boots load into a color layout and thoguht it was so stupid because it would just turn back to normal then I checked and ype you can change irs layout nice
That’s right, the themes are just CSS files that’s are loaded in by the plug-in so you toggle them off as you please. It’s possible to use multiple themes at once.
There’s a few issues with Decky at the moment if you’re not on the Stable build of SteamOS. I know the CSSLoader team are working on getting a fix out.
There was a bug in the Decky Loader that caused an element to be created multiple times in some instances but yes, this has been fixed in a recent update.
Unfortunately not but the "Centre on Games" tweak will hide all of that below the screen when in handheld. You'll still get the same number of posters displayed though.
You can, each animation video needs to be in its own folder and then they will be randomised. If you join the Steam Deck Homebrew discord folks will be able to help.
Why would there be a risk? Youre just running an add-on program that does UI edits for you instead of you needing to code yourself This isnt a Nintendo Switch, youre not finding holes in Nintendo's firmware to jailbreak it. Valve encourages using Steam Deck like this Just make sure youre not following any obscure guides or something, stick to videos or posts like this with a lot of views and clear explanation
In terminal windows like Konsole the password won’t show that you’ve entered any text but it will be. You’ll need to ensure you used the passwd command to create a password first.
Already tried restarting the system and updating decky loader but I'm not seeing all the audio options that are showing up on yours. Can't find the Wii shop music. How do I search or add options?
@@FlipScreenGames The "installer" does nothing more than wrap the curl to shell in a .desktop shortcut so it is just as unsafe, you just don't see it immediately. The exact same issue exists with Emudeck. This has been a known bad practice for decades and a sure way to get some unaware users tricked into thinking it's a safe and normal thing to do.
I don't personally find it that useful but it provides shortcuts to connect to previously paired devices without having to go into settings. If you use bluetooth headphones a lot it can be handy.

Great tutorial, the only problem I’m having is the persona 5 ost doesnt show up on sound loader. The creator probably just took it down though.

Do I have to use a password after this is installed or can I remove it? Personally I don't want to input a password every time I turn it on.
You'll never need to enter that password when you boot up or login. It will only be used for installing packages like Decky.

None that I’ve found. As the Steam Deck UI is web based the themes are just CSS files that are just kilobytes in size.

There aren't any themes for me to download :( nothing comes up under manage themes
Try rebooting your Steam Deck or seeing if there’s an update to CSSLoader. I know the devs have been working hard on a new version lately.
They removed the Wii Shop music as an option. :(
Yeah it’s a shame but I know they’re trying to avoid copyright strikes. It is possible to add your own audio files if you check out the readme.

Great question! Decky only officially supports the Steam Deck but it does work on some other Linux distros. It doesn't currently work with Windows.

Yikes, piping curl to a shell, this is really bad practice, please get a better install method!

There are a few ways to do this but if you have an Nvidia card the best way is with some software called Moonlight. moonlight-stream.org/
