  • Hola guys! I've been having quite an awful time nailing a wash and go routine until recently, BAM! What made it so hard was having very different curl patterns on my head but I have figured something out that has been working great. I hope I've helped someone.

    I definitely have this problem. wavy hair in the front then 3c all over 3b in the back. absolute nightmare

    Wow! THIS is my hair! As you said, I’ve search RUclips high and low for YEARS trying to find someone with hair similar to my own. This video is a God-sent

      I'm so glad you feel that way! I searched endlessly as well. How's your hair treating you??

    Wow. The first person I've ever found that has the exact same curl patterns as me in the exact same places. The top of my hair has gained some more wave to it, but it's always the first to frizz up. Glad I found you 😭❤️

      Thank you for commenting. I always breathe a sigh of relief when I hear of others with my situation. We are our own little "squad" haha

      I also have the same textures in the same spots in front!! I thought I was alone. I've found small rods in that section to work well too.

      Candace Smith I’ll have to try that because nothing is really working to give me that curl I need. Thx!

    i have the same problem...the front has a way looser curl and its so frustrating to the a wash and go

  • @NooksandBrownies

    OMG! I thought it was just my hair! I've been natural for like 5 years now. I would cut the front and see if it would grow back the same texture as the back and it wouldn't! It's good to know I'm not alone and that I can still do wash and go's. Thanks!

      So glad to be of some help! Now you can stop cutting your hair! 🙈

      Haha "breed". Seriously a warning would have been great I looked high and low for someone with my hair situation.

      It was super frustrating for me but now the majority of the time I enjoy my hair. There are moments and hairstyles that favor one section over the other; one just has to figure out how to make it work as to not go crazy 😊

    I have the exact same problem, another video said that the two different textures could be due to low iron, so just see about getting checked for anemia!
    Also you're freaking gorgeous girl and no matter the struggle keep working it, becaused you look amazing with natural hair!

    • @JerricaNavarro
      @JerricaNavarro  7 лет назад

      How interesting I am actually a bit anemic (common among breast feeding mothers) so maybe there is truth to that. Thank you for the sweet comment.

    I've been going through this for so long been natural for 6yrs. But I thought that I just had a lot of heat damage in the front. Now I'm realizing that might just be my texture in the front like yours. Thanks so much for this video.

    • @JerricaNavarro
      @JerricaNavarro  8 лет назад +2

      You're very welcome. I too thought it was something I did but I'm seeing and hearing of many others with the same situation. So we've got to just accept and work with it 😎

    I'm not a RUclipsr, but I'm dealing with the same problem. I'm still transitioning as well. I'm a year post relaxer. The tight curls are coils and I have them on the crown of my head. The rest is wavy and look like ringlets. I have low porosity hair. My hair looks super dry mainly in the front near my edges. I have to help the hair out by twisting because it won't hold a curl. It might be heat damage. I will ask my friend since she's licensed. I don't flat iron my hair at all. I deep condition my hair weekly. I'm going to step up my co-washing game. It might have been from blow drying improperly.

    • @JerricaNavarro
      @JerricaNavarro  8 лет назад

      Such a process we have to go through to be natural but it's well worth it. I can't describe the liberating feeling I get with having no more relaxer! Struggle and all. It's great that you deep condition regularly I'm sure it will help you transition even quicker. I could never handle blow drying my hair my scalp was too sensitive 😣

      @azalea.9 4 года назад

      Hi how are your curls now and do you still ha different curls patterns and the transition period last for how much ?

  • @virginiahunter560
    @virginiahunter560 7 лет назад +6

    I have the same problem :( my curls are really tight in the back but loose in the front! I don't know how to style my hair to make it look even! It always looks shorter in the back due to shrinkage and people assume it was a bad cut! Soooo frustrating

    • @JerricaNavarro
      @JerricaNavarro  7 лет назад +2

      The struggle! I kept cutting the front of my head because it looked weird in ponytails and twist outs now I look hella crazy 🙈 Good luck to you!

  • @last_womann8344

    Same hair textures in the same place. I was getting a bit worried about my hair, it's a huge nightmare but you eased up my tension and hatred for the front of my hair. Sometimes I want to cut it off and wear a hair piece but you make it look beautiful. ❤️ I may give it another chance and see what I can do. :/

    • @JerricaNavarro
      @JerricaNavarro  7 лет назад +1

      It can be very discouraging but I find twisting or braiding the straighter or less defined areas is what keeps me natural. If it honestly wasn't for that I'd have relaxed it by now.

    • @JerricaNavarro

      Good luck hang in there!

    Oh TRUST and believe you are NOT alone! I have a small section in the front that is a looser curl patter and it is SOOOOOOOOO annoying! I will say the more hydrated it is the more "curl" it will have but overall it is a looser curl. I tend to put it in a perm rod since that matches my overall texture more closely.

  • @tonyaspriggs
    @tonyaspriggs 8 лет назад

    I enjoyed seeing your video, I do have three different textures as well. My hair tangles when it is extremely dry and I have a time while conditioning it detangling it because it can get matted at times. I use the WEN Creme cleansing Conditioner, and I wash with the Rose Hemp Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap. I never used it to wash my hair. Your hair looks great! Thank you for opening up this topic for the nature hair category.

    • @JerricaNavarro
      @JerricaNavarro  8 лет назад +1

      My sister and I use to use WEN I stopped cause it was pretty pricey and because I wanted to try other things but it was great. It's always great reading there are many more people dealing with my similar situation. Thank you for your comment!

    Beautiful! I have multi-textured hair as well, I have about three different textures and it is hard but I'm happy I started to embrace my natural hair, so that I now know. You can try to using a Denmen brush, that has helped with my curls at the top clumping together and forming. I also have to use a product that makes my hair crunchy on the first day, so that I can have consecutive days of wear.

    • @JerricaNavarro
      @JerricaNavarro  8 лет назад

      I've always wanted one of those brushes, I'll put it on my list of things to get soon. Thanks for watching and for your comment, super helpful. Hope you continue to embrace your natural hair.

      I have three textures as well... wavy in the back, curly in the middle, and I don’t know what in the front... it doesn’t come together as curls, even if I use a strong gel and Denman brush...

    i have the same thing!! my front left side is very wavy (3a/3b) and the rest is closer to 3c/4a. it’s crazy & i thought that maybe it was heat damage but it’s been MONTHS since the flat iron has been anywhere near my hair so i’m certain that it’s just how it’s growing. maybe after i big chop, it’ll even out

    • @JerricaNavarro
      @JerricaNavarro  5 лет назад

      Mine improved after I completely grew out the relaxed hair but it is still very different. Good luck!

  • @nikkibullard2518
    @nikkibullard2518 7 лет назад +1

    finally, i found someone with the same different curl patterns than me! people always think that my hair is damaged but i haven't straightened my hair in a year, the front of my hair just has a 3A/3B texture while the back has a 3B/3C curl pattern and my hair is multiple different lengths. it's so hard :(((()

    • @JerricaNavarro
      @JerricaNavarro  7 лет назад +2

      People and their opinions at first confused me, then annoyed me, now it doesn't bother me at all because I know it's not what I've done it's just the way I was born. But with that said it's hard to cater to multiple hair sections... sometimes.

    Ugh my hair is the same even down to the side being so beautiful and the front wavy. I even struggle with doing a puff bc the straight pieces stick up... I never knew it would be so frustrating..

    • @JerricaNavarro
      @JerricaNavarro  7 лет назад

      OMG yes my "puff" was never really a puff unless I tucked and hid those straight pieces which didn't really look right. I had to just figure out another variation of a puff/ponytail that worked for my situation.

    I have the same problem...the back section of my hair is longer, has no shrinkage, and is pretty much wavy/straight, and the rest of my hair is 3b/3c hair. Its funny because my whole family has kinky hair except for me and my baby cousin.
