Florida Prepares for Powerful Hurricane Ian

- The state of Florida is bracing for the impact of Hurricane Ian. Forecasters are modeling where the storm will make landfall and the consensus is that Tampa will take a major hit. Experts are predicting the storm will be the worst hurricane to hit Tampa in over 100 years with 15-feet waves and winds up to 135 miles per hour. A storm surge could send up to eight feet of water into Tampa, overwhelming the city's flood defenses.
Planned a trip to Tampa 4 months ago to go this Friday the 30th. You can imagine my disbelief to find out it's about to get hit by the worst hurricane to come through that city in over 100 years. Unbelievable. Thoughts and prayers go to everyone there.
Better stay home.

Yeah, completely avoid florida. Storm going to be so bad we wont recover for years. Just to be safe, all out of staters should leave and wait at least a decade before coming back.
We planned a trip to the key west and decided to make the best of it and went down wish us luck

That's the #1 reason I'm never relocating to Florida. That hurricane damage is just overwhelming. I don't know anyone in Tampa, but I certainly hope the Tampa residents stay safe or evacuate in time. I was just in Florida 2 days ago before this video was posted. I was visiting Orlando at the time before returning to my Illinois hometown.

Bahamas knows better than anyone else. You guys probably got the worse hurricane hit ever a few years ago! I'm in Puerto Rico and Maria was brutal, but even that paled in comparison to what you guys went through. Everyone over here was sad for you guys.

I'm praying that the will in Tampa will have time to evacuate so they can make it to safety. Hurricane Ian is definitely picking up wind speeds faster than fast. This hurricane might just be as serious as Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and Hurricane Katrina in 2004. I hope the people will be ready for that storm. I hope everybody down in Tampa will be safe.

I'm a Houston Texas resident but I'm with my family right now ten miles from Tampa..I saw Harvey and it was the most brutal thing I've experienced.. Tampa is strong. Just like Houston!!.. Desantis has really been incredible and has given the people who have lived here for decades... hope...

@@-Zelo because irma had no storm surge this one will. If you're in zone A you have to evacuate even 5ft of storm surge will be a huge issue.

Sometimes it just sucks to live in FL. I I live in North Florida but I lived in other cities in FL too so I’ve been in Hurricane Andrew, Matthew, & Irma. And my dad & step family lives in Tampa so now I’m worried 😩

i lived in west palm beach when irma came. me and my bf at the time came back up north and stayed in jersey. where we lived, it barely hit. but it destroyeddddd the islands so we didn’t take our chances.

I live in FL (not revealing my city) and during school the whole day me and my friends were checking the weather radar. It is crazy. There were many warnings. Tornado watch, tropical storm warning, flash flood. It was crazy. This is worse than Irma

They test drove one of those new electric trucks. It died after going about 100 miles and it took 8 hours to charge the.l battery 😂
