Hey guys and welcome to another Sunday! I had a few questions asking me “where’s Thursday’s video?” When I made my channel update video I probably wasn’t exact enough with what I said. I meant the schedule for twice weekly uploads started “next week!” That means today! So, the next video is on THURSDAY now and it’ll be my island hopper flight between Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura with Air Europa Express. Then Sunday, then Thursday etc etc for the rest of the year 👍🏻👍🏻 Just putting finishing touches on some new channel art and logos and you’ll see that next week too.
Hi Paul! I flew from Dublin to las palmes with Aer Lingus last year. A bit of turbulence mid flight. I don’t really like turbulence especially when the plane is shaking so much. I have a video taking off from Dublin! Thanks
I've realized why I like Paul's trip reports more than others: the total lack of pompous entitlement that I see on other channels. Paul tells and shows it exactly like it is.
Turbulence...love it...adds a different aspect to the flight. I'll never forget February 2017 going to Japan, EK317, B77W...Turbulence was so bad that the cabin crew sat down every 10 minutes, and once they didn't set the breaks on the food cart so that rolled up and down..
Turbulence doesn't bother me, but bulk head seats do because of multiple surgeries on my right knee after 50 years of football, skiing, rock climbing and push bike accidents. Another good video. I like your use of an arrow to point out obscure places that you comment on. Mahalo (thank you) from Hawai'i!
Hi Paul. Thank you for another great video. Loving the route format. A little turbulence gives a flight an edge but smooth is good. Enjoy your travels. You have a great time. Fair play to you.
I use to fly from London to Dublin and back every week with my old job.. That really helped me with Turbulence.. Whilst I wouldn't say I'm a fan.. I can deal with it a lot better :)
Hi Paul, I've been watching your trip reports for the last 2 months, I guess I'm a "newbie subscriber". I really enjoy the music that you combine with your videos.
I had about 6 hours of turbulence coming back from the US, time spent watching the waves in the coffee and the light on the wing tip vibrate. The jet stream meant we got to LHR about an hour ahead of schedule, that meant an hour on the tarmac waiting for a stand.
Noticed you are getting more advertisements breaks on your channel. Air Corsica, visit Dubai, Visit Florida. on this trip report. At least they are topical to your VLOG. Well done keep them coming.
Hey Paul! Love the videos! Have you ever thought about doing first class London King's Cross to Hull with Hull Trains?? You've done VTEC and GC, so maybe check out their neighbour. From my experiences Hull Trains are a fantastic operator, and their Monday-Friday 1st Class is really quite good.
He said he'd be going to FUE the next day (idk if it's actually tomorrow lol). I traveled last month from MAD to LPA with that 787, and it was amazing!!
Best thing about a Sunday! And now a Thursday😂 keep up the good work Paul. Have you ever thought about doing a hull trains trip report? Or a transpennine express to Edinburgh? Would love to see those!
Its a shame you didnt sit on the right side of the plane as for when you land you would of seen the jet fighter base with the MIGs parked in there hangers its an awsome place gran canaria its my second home but credit to you paul another fantastic report
Thank you, so great, as usual! I was so happy for you, going to a warm and sunny place for the first time....and it turns out to be cold weather, I felt sorry for you😉
Hiya. Is it still called turbulence when the 747 one's in just drops 300 feet in a second, leaving you held in your seat by the still-fastened seat belt while your stomach enjoys an out-of-body experience against the cabin ceiling? Now that WAS interesting and one of the reasons I don't go on white knuckle rides!
Remember coming back to Faro via Lisbon on TAP, when we hit some very strong turbulence. Basically the Women next to me and a number of other passengers started screaming very loudly and although I did not scream myself I still had a very sore arm afterwards due to my arm being pinched very tightly.
Hi Paul. Been following your channel for a while and really enjoy your reports. Turbulence? Well many years ago I was on an Egyptair flight which caught some severe turbulence in a thunderstorm. Anything that wasn't strapped in or held down pretty much bounced off the ceiling of the cabin! So average turbulence doesn't really bother me unless it spills my beer!
Not sure how much I would have enjoyed the turbulence at the end there, I still know i'm safe when i'm flying, but when it just goes on and on and on and on and on, it drives me mad sometimes. Other than that another very enjoyable report, thanks Paul.
Hope you do another iberia express business class review in the next few months. Would like to see how it is now. Amanda and i are booked in april to Tenerife on them.
Many thanks for this report again, Paul! About turbulence - for me it’s really strange. I know enough about planes not to be bothered at all. You may know the old saying - when passengers talk about turbulence, pilots talk about entertainment. And when pilots talk about turbulence, planes get damaged... But still I feel unpleasant with turbulence. Can’t explain really why. There are some routings and destinations You can count on turbulence. For instance I’m flying from Frankfurt into Milano Malpensa some times per year and descending into Malpensa over the Alps can make some pretty nasty turbulence even in otherwise nice weather. My worst case once was right after take off in Frankfurt in an ATR shortly after a wide body and getting into some kind of wake turbulence - suddenly the plane dipped a bit over the left wing. Quickly the pilots recovered, but it was a bit of a shock...
Nice video and no turbulence doesn't bother me a bit. I love flying. The only time I was on a flight with extremely bad turbulence was in the late 1970s. We were shaken around like salt and pepper shakers for nearly 2 hours non-stop. Stuff was flying out of the overhead bins, people were screaming, it was the only time I prayed we wouldn't crash into the mountains below or that the plane didn't fall to pieces mid-air from the violent shaking. I've never experienced turbulence that bad since. So no. Turbulence doesn't bother me. Besides, if something did happen, what a way to go. Doing something I love so much.
I don't mind turbulence all that much, even on a small aircraft. The worst it has been was in a Colgan Air Saab 340 flying around a thunderstorm between Houston and Killeen, TX.
Top trip as ever Paul! Looking forward to next week as the last time I was in Gran Can, I ended up having to rush home unexpectedly which meant getting the CanaryFly turbo-prop to Fuerty. Looking forward to next Sunday... I wonder if the coffee was still as terrible? ;@)
Oh and PS: there’s a car ferry from Spain to the Canaries, it takes about two whole days and nights to complete the trip. Would make a change from the Scottish Islands!
Yeahbut: 1. Costs about €1,000+ with the caravan, and 2. Dog has to go in a kennel. So nah. Which is a pity, would love to do that when I have a spare 3 months ;@)
Flown thousands of miles but I am unsettled by turbulence! In 2009 flying from HKG to LHR on a Virgin A340 600 after 5 hours we experienced very heavy duty turbulence, a week after the Air France A330 went down mid Atlantic, the rest of the flight was tranquil and calm! I kept wondering if the pitot tubes were icing up!
I don’t mind turbulence, but not prolonged bouts, as on a long flight it can prevent you getting to the lavatory, which was rather painful on my last QR flight.
Every long haul flight I've been on has been quite relaxed about passengers using the lavatory in those circumstances. I've never seen anybody told to sit back down. When you gotta go, you go.
Turbulence - being in a tin, and then being shaken about, isn't something I'd call pleasant, but Herself is dreadfully sensitive to pressure changes and turbulence. It feels like she's been kicked between the eyes. I think anyone who has flown in an Andover or an early model Hercules would agree that it's probably better with a seat under you. And in the case of the Herc...probably a good thing that passengers don't see the airframe opening and closing around you
Oh yeah, the 'Risotto' was uneatable (dry & tasteless) - I had the same from Tenerife N to Madrid. The Risotto might have become the standard meal on most IB Express flights in business class meanwhile . The food is much better on IBERIA mainline flights, also served on china - and not on plastic dishes as on Express flights. And that's not a LOW COST Business Class on Express flights, the fares do not differ from those of IB mainline flights. Fares are more or less the same if you compare IB mainline & Express on int'l flights from Dusseldorf to Madrid (IB mainline) and Berlin to Madrid (IB Express). - strange!
My only concern with turbulence is spilling everything, then hoping you haven't got an embarrassing wet patch (spilled drink) on your pants when you stand up. To be fair turbulence when in the loo is a test too
Some Airlines you could try: • SundAir • RheinNeckar Air • VLM Airlines • PeoplesVienna Line • SkyWork Airlines • AIS Airlines I think it would bei very interesting :)
we were on a virgin atlantic flight to grenada it seems everytime food and drink was served we would hit turbulence, at the end of the flight my son in law removed his shoes and tipped out a mixture of what he had to drink during the flight so funny.
Never had turbulence for a prolonged period of time. But then I have only travelled by plane during some holidays, not a frequent flyer at all. The turbulence I remember was quite heavy, with the plane going inside clouds and I lighting flashing. But I have seen some turbulence on videos that must be extremely annoying: it appeared as if the plane was driving on a very uneven road with lots of potholes in it. My parents did experience extreme turbulence during a trip to the tropics. I learned about it because the airline took the trouble of phoning 'the next of kin.' I immediately thought something was very wrong but the lady assured me they only experienced heavy turbulence and that they could file a complaint if they wished. I heard later, after my parents had returned from the trip, that [IRONY] two nuns had not had their seatbelts on and they flew up against the roof. Nearer to thee my God?
Hi Paul! I loved the video. I don't particularly care for turbulence. If its light turbulence I think it feels kind of fun, but if its super bumpy with many extreme ups and downs then I don't like that at all. I think you are very brave to fly on some of the aircraft you have flown on. I won't fly on anything smaller than a 2 seat, aisle, 3 seat plane (economy class, that is). I think I'd soil my pants if that ever happened to the plane I was on.

Quiero las islas Canarias😍🇪🇸Love the Canary islands 😍🇬🇧
Turbs do nothing for me either ... just more discomfort. Had a close one once and never really gotten over it ... love ya stuff. Keep up the good work.
As usual a nice objective trip report. You are my most favourite airline reviewer (together with a certain other reviewer). A little bit strange that a low cost carrier has a business class, which does not seem different from other European business classes. Is there a price difference between Iberia Express and Iberia? Concerning the turbulence, I only get worried when the crew gets worried but overall I find it very annoying. I preffer a turbulence-free flight!
Those bumps in the air the captain always speaks to just before take off...terrifies me. Last flight from Oakland CA to Reno NV was pretty much the worst at 8pm. Too many curse words and Hanging on Dear Life!!!! Those Sierra Nevada mountains are a killer in the air and even if you're driving over...Thx.
OMG, I had to wear my sunglasses for this episode, haven't seen the sun in months in one of your videos.. Greetings from Sydney, where it's sunny almost every day! 😉😎😎😎 P.S. Fear of falling. #Turbulence.
Unlike you Paul I do drink on aircraft as when I fly I am extremely excited and totally in the holiday mode. To this end turbulence does bother me as I often find myself juggling with two glasses or a bottle and the glass. Minor inconvenience when the hospitality is free
Good video, Madrid-Las Palmas cost 30 pounds for canarian resident only; on minute 13:30 you are in Parque de San Telmo Las Palmas City. Best regards from Canary Sir!
I don’t find it impressive at all. It seems like any other budget airlines; i.e. dated old seats and very tight space. You didn’t mention if seats are reclinable and how comfy they are though.

Old channel: Vi carroll
I flew to Faro with jet2 and it was fine but turbulence.
I've realized why I like Paul's trip reports more than others: the total lack of pompous entitlement that I see on other channels. Paul tells and shows it exactly like it is.
Agree. Paul makes a good amount of travelling feel like something anyone can do especially if well organised and creative.
Well filmed, music quite unobtrusive, many have very loud music and you can't hear the guy talking.
Great trip report. Coming back from there, I spent my time watching the aircraft landing and taking off.
Fantastic I always use Iberia Express from CWL to LPA via MAD. It is absolutely great and always on time! Thanks so much for this video.
Turbulence...love it...adds a different aspect to the flight. I'll never forget February 2017 going to Japan, EK317, B77W...Turbulence was so bad that the cabin crew sat down every 10 minutes, and once they didn't set the breaks on the food cart so that rolled up and down..

Not too bothered about turbulence unless there's massive drops, those make everyone feel bad I guess :)
no I love turbulence as it makes a journey especially a long haul flight interesting
Hi Paul. Thank you for another great video. Loving the route format. A little turbulence gives a flight an edge but smooth is good. Enjoy your travels. You have a great time. Fair play to you.
The meal looks great. On my Business Class flight with regular Iberia the Breakfast was a fail for Business...
I've always loved turbulence. It reminds me of work, although these days with the noise of the wind it just rocks me to sleep!
I had about 6 hours of turbulence coming back from the US, time spent watching the waves in the coffee and the light on the wing tip vibrate. The jet stream meant we got to LHR about an hour ahead of schedule, that meant an hour on the tarmac waiting for a stand.
keep on making videos! Love your channel, and keep on making progress! happy trips

He said he'd be going to FUE the next day (idk if it's actually tomorrow lol). I traveled last month from MAD to LPA with that 787, and it was amazing!!
You can see Paul's flights (past and planned) in the BA97 link in the video description. Looks like he did FUE-BHX on a Thomas Cook A321.
Best thing about a Sunday! And now a Thursday😂 keep up the good work Paul. Have you ever thought about doing a hull trains trip report? Or a transpennine express to Edinburgh? Would love to see those!

I don't mind turbulence if I'm tired. I can sleep thru almost anything.
It's when I'm awake and alert that it gets to be annoying.
Thank you, so great, as usual! I was so happy for you, going to a warm and sunny place for the first time....and it turns out to be cold weather, I felt sorry for you😉

Great post as always, I hate being bumped about. If you ever come to Columbus, Ohio we would love to have you as our guest.
Another great report Paul. Being quite a nervous flyer I hate turbulence.
I’m not afraid to fly. In fact, I love it. Turbulence doesn’t bother me. Nice video!!

Hope you do another iberia express business class review in the next few months. Would like to see how it is now. Amanda and i are booked in april to Tenerife on them.

When are you uploading a train report
Really very nice report there, in-between the ads ;)
I don’t mind turbulence! However, I hate when flights are smooth throughout without a single bump bc I can’t tell if we’re moving lol
Another fantastic report mate! As it goes I love a bit of turbulence.... I better had seems I’m going to become a pilot 😂
Just seen the report on Australia to UK non stop 17 hours is it on your list LOL
Great vid as always. Very enjoyable indeed.
I don't mind turbulence all that much, even on a small aircraft. The worst it has been was in a Colgan Air Saab 340 flying around a thunderstorm between Houston and Killeen, TX.
Turbulence........ scares the life out of me, wish it didn’t!
When possible, whiskey before takeoff and hold on for dear life 😳
I tell amanda to do to me what the a-team did to Mr.T to get him on a plane. Turbulence really freaks me out.

Hey Paul, ever thought of trying the italo or frecciarossa high speed train? Think either one of them would make a great trip report.
I’ll get around to them eventually!
You must have a super good job to do all this. Once you have kids. Traveling slows down sadly. Great stuff !!
I'm going to HK next week. Luckily last year there was no turbulence such a smooth flight - hopefully its the same this year!
Yes, turbulence really bothers me. Terriified! I actually haven't flown in 10 years. But watching your videos are helping me greatly! Thank you
A surprisingly big airport for a small island😲I didn't expect that🙂
Gran Canaria is full of British, German, Dutch and Polish people all on holiday! 😌😌
Wow! I had no idea 👍
Excellent video,..gracias
Hello Paul. Is it worth the difference in price from business to executive (in this situation)? ... mainly at distances of about 2 hours ? Thank you.
I don’t mind turbulence, but not prolonged bouts, as on a long flight it can prevent you getting to the lavatory, which was rather painful on my last QR flight.

The seats right up against the partition always have the least leg room. I learned my lesson. Never again!
I hate turbulence, I know it's not dangerous but it gives me an unpleasant feeling.
Robert S same
Me too. Been 10 years since I last flown. Never again!!!
My only concern with turbulence is spilling everything, then hoping you haven't got an embarrassing wet patch (spilled drink) on your pants when you stand up. To be fair turbulence when in the loo is a test too
Love flight turbulence. It's exciting.
That looks a cool video hope you had a nice trip
Some Airlines you could try:
• SundAir
• RheinNeckar Air
• VLM Airlines
• PeoplesVienna Line
• SkyWork Airlines
• AIS Airlines
I think it would bei very interesting :)
Nico Köhler he’s already done VLM. He flew from London city to Antwerp. It was about 4 months ago I think
AJ AJ okay, thank you
Nico Köhler no worries. Would like to see him try the other ones though
Turbulence used to not bother me at all. These days the moment there’s a bit of a shake, I start sweating, can’t help it.
Nice video Paul.
Great video!
we were on a virgin atlantic flight to grenada it seems everytime food and drink was served we would hit turbulence, at the end of the flight my son in law removed his shoes and tipped out a mixture of what he had to drink during the flight so funny.
I've never experienced turbulance on a flight before luckily but i'm curious to what its actually like
I don't mind turbulence!
I don't mind it - what I mind is overreaction to it by crews
Max Barnish Turbulence can injure unsecured passengers, that's the reason for the cabin crew reaction.
i love it
Me too 😂
Never had turbulence for a prolonged period of time. But then I have only travelled by plane during some holidays, not a frequent flyer at all. Awesome report, cannot wait to see your US tour.
It’ll be a great series I hope!
Turbulence is fine with me! ☁🌁✈⛅
It depends on the individual! 😀
I don't mind turbulence, as long as I don't hear too much rattling. It's usually nap time for me.
How do you find out how old a plane is?
Are you planning to fly Iberia A350 when it's running on the LHR-MAD route sometime in the summer?
Yep!
Hi Paul! I loved the video. I don't particularly care for turbulence. If its light turbulence I think it feels kind of fun, but if its super bumpy with many extreme ups and downs then I don't like that at all. FOOD IS NEVER BORING!!...Can't Be TOO FUSSY ABOUT FOOD..
I really want to try the Airbus A321 but in long haul
I can cope with it but find it rather unsteady, I love flying though, never been a fan of plane food you get that's provided is the hot food.
Turbulence does bother me quite a bit. Especially those that give you quite the jolt. :/
Very interesting
Those bumps in the air the captain always speaks to just before take off...terrifies me. Last flight from Oakland CA to Reno NV was pretty much the worst at 8pm. Too many curse words and Hanging on Dear Life!!!! Those Sierra Nevada mountains are a killer in the air and even if you're driving over...Thx.
turbulence is awesome
I taught English there and on Tenerife a long time ago.
@Drom Assault Not EU citizen. No can stay longer.
OMG, I had to wear my sunglasses for this episode, haven't seen the sun in months in one of your videos.. Greetings from Sydney, where it's sunny almost every day! 😉😎😎😎 P.S. Fear of falling. #Turbulence.
Luckily most of my future travels will involve the sun over the summer this year 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Great as per... turbulence it's our friend a bit upy downy lol,
Mild turbulence = getting my money’s worth.
Unlike you Paul I do drink on aircraft as when I fly I am extremely excited and totally in the holiday mode. To this end turbulence does bother me as I often find myself juggling with two glasses or a bottle and the glass. Minor inconvenience when the hospitality is free
Turbulence doesnt bother me what's do ever. Think of it as roller coaster buddy.😎😎😂😂
How do you only spend 10 mins in a shower. I take 30 haha great vid as always paul
I get totally sick. I don't toss my cookies but I get really quezzy!
Good video, Madrid-Las Palmas cost 30 pounds for canarian resident only; on minute 13:30 you are in Parque de San Telmo Las Palmas City. Best regards from Canary Sir!
why does iberia call that a regional flight?
planes spotter and railfanner - it’s because the Canaries are part of Spain!
I'm lucky i've never experienced turbulence but i will sooner or later, not looking forward to it though : )
I don’t mind turbulence, I slightly enjoy it
LOVE TURBULENCES !!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t find it impressive at all. It seems like any other budget airlines; i.e. dated old seats and very tight space. You didn’t mention if seats are reclinable and how comfy they are though.
Hey Paul, why not add a bit more of the airports that you transit through. Could add a few more minutes to an already enjoyable video......
Vos sos emigrante?
