But see you fail to answer my question whis is What song does JSU sound better than FAMU on? FAMU plays loud son, but they also play with Control,Dynamics with that said I would take that Concert Band over JSU any damn day.
@toocooltd But there have been years where JSU didn't mave much more bass than Valley got now. Bout 8 B-tones, 8 F-orns and around 20 bones. The only real difference between Valley's size now is more trumpets and tubas. I counted Valley having 13 Trombones, 10 B-tones, 8 F-Horns, and 18 Trumpets. I forget how many trumpets the BOOM had those years. Ofcourse not as Power as the BOOM is now, but with a BOOM the size of what Valley has now as a small band with a big sound and was very clean.

JSU has been as small as 160 or 140 in the past and and mad more power than Valley has at that size plus was so many times cleaner sounding than Valley, so it all sounds like excuses to me. And JSU does not have 250 winds. When you see people counting JSU size they counting everyone that travels with the band. There are probably less than 180 winds
In Valley's defense you can't really gauge a band's power from behind or a side profile like this. Doesn't work for JSU or SU either. JSU bringin it though. Hey. Ummmm. Isn't JSU arrangement like a knock of SU's 96 arrangement. Just watched that Bayou Classic VHS a little while ago. LOL. Maybe I just need to catch a closer clip to hear the differences.

But yal band director did say he was about quality instead of volume, but hey, this is college we're talkin bout, and if you can't have quality AND volume, then that's a downfall. Yal surprised me on a couple of songs though.
