It was a different type of Southern imo....Jackson is hitting new levels and I'm proud of the boom as a Mississippian. I had scholarships to both music programs and to other HBCUs.

@patboy07 in my opinion 2010 was the greatest game in the JSU/SU rivalry. It had it all: a good zero quarter, and classic game, solid halftime shows from both bands, bands playing each other's songs(ex: su blowing fanfare, Jsu do what you wanna) a dramatic ending and of course another classic 5th. Ive marched in the boom from 07-10 and this was the most exciting game in my tenure.
Man that was the best game in LIFE from the Zero Quarter to the actual football game and the 5th the whole game was EPIC! Boom made a ju proud smashin SU like that! Crab of 05!

I remember one year I went to a txsu vs jsu game on a Thursday and I was standing next to txsu band and I asked them who had the best band and a tuba player said su...and I was like damn y'all must enjoy being su's little brother and it shows from some of these comments I've seen even though txsu is irrelevant now

Murray and crew Ight with me. This was my sophomore year and we had a mf band that year. We drug SU. JSU directors now are waaay to boring and conservative and let me not forget horrible song selections in 2015. I miss Mr. Murray, he didn't play that shit. Mr Murray gone use what he has and he knew he had a damn band behind him and he used it. Our song selection that year was on point.
@staflo10 well they have to have some type of control to prevent fatigue and i dont hear any signs of that at all if ya catch my drift and it dont matter how the look its all bout the sound
