Ian captured the essence of a real live walk round for someone who couldn't make it. Thanks Ian. 'Less is More' is also so true back in the world outside a show.
My son and I went to the show for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Walked till our legs ached and couldn't carry any more purchases. So many friendly people on the stands to talk to about their cars and it was marvellous to finally meet you in person as well.
The De Tomaso stand was my highlight. I remember being 8 yrs old and staring at the Pantera in books and thinking I would never get to drive one….and I never have. Even back then I was a know it all.
Hello, many thanks for the review of our stand 'Modern Classic Executive Cars' around the 3 minute marker. You're right about loving our old tech, that little Sony is just the tip of a very slippery iceberg!. All the best, and thanks again, James.
The sound of silence coming from underneath the hood of an E Type does NOT make the hair on my arms stand up, like the sound of STRAIGHT 6 JAG WOULD. THAT'S A SOUND THAT'S UNFORGETTABLE. Great video. Again.
Thank you Ian for coming & chatting to me about my Manta A. Had a great weekend talking to lots of car enthusiasts about the A & some lovely comments about the car.
I was fortunate to own a metallic blue Berlinetta A back in the early seventies. Lovely car, sorely missed. You are very lucky to be the custodian of that beautiful example!
Hi Ian, thanks for including the Lancia Betas! It was also good to say hello in person and buy a mug. As well as being on our stand I also enjoyed walking round as not so crowded as previous years.
Enjoying your uploads as I couldn’t get there myself, your depth of knowledge astounds me, every time you post something, I learn more. Always interesting and entertaining. Thanks for the hard work you put in, it’s appreciated. Great to see all these wonderful vehicles. I hope you, Steph and Matt have enjoyed yourselves. I hope to be well enough to attend next year and to meet the three of you. You’re all amazing and your channels are absolutely fantastic. Thank you all.
Thankyou for all the trouble you've taken for us, Ian. I'm going to do my best to get there next year. Just loved the ending. Reminds me so much of all the Fire & Security Industry trade shows I used to attend as an exhibitor. You cannot imagine the din created by thousands of different types of sirens and bells all sounding off on the last day at closing time.
36:19 My mum had one of those around 1985. It was a 1979 1,8 Special. I was only seven at the time, but still remember being surrounded by acres of brown velour. Lovely.😁
That red and white Bond Minicar looked very nice. The body and chassis on the Frisky stand looked like a Frisky Sprint. They turned up a few years later in Adelaide as a Lightburn Zeta Sport. Both cars are like hen's teeth.
I visited Sunday and watching your coverage has shown me how much I missed. Still, I did get to see your stand and My partner was kind enough to take My picture next to TWC, good times.
Thanks great vidio walk round ,what a great show .thank you for coming over to the Minikits stand glad you liked it Ian. The minibug and trek are stimsons too . Not a lot of people realised that none of the kits on both stands was all 40 years old +. We also got nominated in the ToP 3 class . Get tuk to Stoneleigh kitcar show next year see if we can pull something more special up.
Enjoyed every second of that Ian and looking forward to buying my tickets for next year. Great content , informative with a little innuendo to boot!🤣. I’ve traveled on business today from Wirral to Hitching and parked outside your friend Chevronic! By total coincidence 😳 Found myself wanting to say hello because I follow you on RUclips; I sparred myself the indignity of coarse! Look forward to the next Hubnut edition 👍🏻
I think it's great we all have our own specific taste in classics. For me it's got to be a Citroen Xantia 3.0L. Anyone else out there like the V6 Xantia?
I'd happily own any Citroën other than the ones which are modern - C3 Picasso excepted - but would be extremely happy to wake up one day and find a V6 Xantia sitting on my drive, wrapped in a pink ribbon and bearing my name and the words "happy birthday " OTOH, an SM would be acceptable as an alternative...👋🙂👍
Saw the 2018 show report - what a buzzing show that was in comparison to 2021. More attendees, more cars, more carpet and more fun. Hope the show gets back to those days in the years to come
What a wonderful show! Many cars I knew, many I had never heard of. I notice you found the nice Bristols. As I recall, motor shows used to have many more nice Bristols, back in the day! The intake trumpets on that Lancia V4 presumably show the different distances to the intake valves on each bank.
@Alfred Wedmore A couple of blokes in a shed at Blackpool didn't have the budget of a major manufacturer. But drape a couple of naked women over TVRs and suddenly all the press are milling around!
That yellow Rover SD1 made me very nostalgic, one of our neighbours had a very similar car in the early 80's. Really wanted my Dad to get an SD1 but he loved his Volvos and Citroens!
You were lucky to have been spared lung diseases and foot rot due to SD1 interior dampness from glazing leaks. In my case, in six months of hell with my dream car a then 4 year old 2600 SD1 I think I was saved by the disinfective effect of interior petrol fumes and copious time spent outside replacing failed head gasket, leaking clutch and brake master cylinders, exhaust pipe and constant attention to its already rampantly rusting if fabulously Ferrariesque exterior. Love Hate at its best, I think you were better served by Volvo.....
Apparently the rubber wings on the Post Office Morris Minor vans was so the Posties could drive through the large swing/curtain doors and not have to get out of their vehicles without (much!) damage. Or so I was told by a relative that worked in a Sorting Office for the Post.
Wow, thanks Ian for yet another entertaining video, loved the variety of beautiful car designs, great to see the rally Maxi, and the horn symphony at the end was brilliant. Looking forward to the next video.
Hi Ian, thanks for doing the walking and photography for those of us who couldn't. Apologies if someone already made this point but here goes: The naked, 4 wheeled Reliant chassis on the club stand is in fact from a Rebel, kitten and fox had a different chassis that was uniquely Reliant and not Triumph Herald / Spitfire based like the Rebel. Rebel estates & vans had two raised loops above the rear chassis legs, saloons didn't as their boot floor didn't have the spare wheel well. I hope this fun fact pleases you. Cheers, Jaye 👋👍
I never understood what Pop Bang Colour was all about when they were briefly appearing in various videos before now, just thought is was those sort of exaggerated cartoon drawings of cars (the massive wheels, no ground clearance, all curvy, etc, not my taste) that were turned into stickers, but taking the time to show and explain what he does in this video has made me realise how impressive his talent is. The whole outline of a car without lifting off the page and painting with RC cars, that's crazily impressive to me. Thanks for speaking with him here briefly to show his stuff.
Great video Ian, have to admit the triton green SD1 was rather lovely as was the avacado P6. What a great finish to the video with all the horns going!
Thank you so much for these videos Ian, I will have to get to that one year, it's a trek for me but will be well worth it seeing all of those fantastic cars.
Fantastic video Ian and an extra thank you for the bonus footage of the Manta A. Never forget the first one I spotted as a kid on a day trip to Perth (the rainy one), gleaming black with vinyl roof & Rostyles, what a beautiful machine, it left such an impression. Hoping to get to the show next year once all the tests, forms & masks palaver has subsided, fingers crossed.
One very well deserved lie down I'd say. Well done Team FuriousClassicHub . Incidentally amid all the exotica for sale in Hall 3 was a rather gorgeous MK2 Vauxhall Astra 1.4LX in white with glorious period wheeltrims
Thankyou for this it was awesome to see the classic old cars I remember so many of these old cars. So good to see these wonderful cars. Not so happy you just walked past one of my absolute fav. Old cars.a stunning 3 wheeled Morgan (2 wheels front 1 wheel rear)... Just sitting there minding its business in British Racing Green. They were a nice car didn't handle too bad. Good looking eye catching Car And at least it wasn't a Robin Reliant. That roll over if you breathe on them too hard.
Another great walk-round video with yet more fascinating facts. You've filled in some gaps for stuff I missed on Sunday (we chatted briefly about your Multipla and trying to get the Sana running) so thanks for that 👍 I too was staggered at the 10 grand asking price for the blue X type, but to be fair it had done under 10k miles.
Just a few bits of info for Humber fans the Supersnipe estate was worked on and trimmed in Carbodies Coventry in was on the same track as the Black Taxis. The Singer Vogue estate was sprayed at Carbodies. They also made the Standard Atlas van. Along with the Triumph 2000 estate. In the 50s early 60s they did the Ford Zephyr convertible. I know as I worked there in the 60s.
The Reliant with gullwing doors in Delorean guise was at the British Motor Show at Farnborough this summer. Didn't see it run which was a shame, although the thought of a Reliant at 88mph is terrifying......
Fantastic videos, watched them all. Your car knowledge is wonderful, makes me feel less nerdy. The horn blasts at the end... Could have had the same effect with one lone Mercedes Grosser!
Indeed: I was out for a walk today and couldn't help noticing that as the traffic passed, there were 23 cars in a row that were black... and the next three were dark grey! And people say the 1930s were drab because all the cars were black!
I,m 67 years old and had a super good time in 60,s love the old cars and trucks and still do, I had a 69 firebird at the time l now have a 64 ford pu and love I always have people ask me if would like to sale it (no) I enjoyed your video.thanks
Fantastic video Ian. Wish I could have gone but unfortunately was otherwise engaged. Spotted my late dads old scimitar, the blue one with vtec. It was v6, maroon and a bit scruffy when he had it!
Some sort of headlamp cleaning system was required by law in Sweden starting in 1972. So any car from that era sold in Sweden had a system developed, even if it wasn't offered more widely. As a Mercedes W108/109 enthusiast, we would always crave the crazy system made for the twin round headlamp version of that car, which is extremely rare.
Hi, brilliant cars and a spectacular showing of our and other countries motoring heritage. Pity we couldn't see the ones that were covered up, however my dissapointment turned to joy at the mention of the "beautiful Bristols " . !!!!!!!!. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more.👙
A pal of mine, John Baker, unfortunately no longer with us, restored a Gordon Keeble. I never saw it in the metal only photos. John was the Service manager of Jensen Motors of West Bromwich .
Watching this reminds me of a European GP I went to at Brands Hatch and they had a 3 Ton lorry powered by a jet fighter engine on afterburner. Apparently the driver had to cut the engine off no later than one second after taking the brakes off so he could slow it enough to stop. Crazy machine, built by crazy people and driven by a crazy driver.
You say that a lot of people will be wishing that you will do a blog on the Reliant Bond Bug. Not I, I love them but when they came ut I went into a Garage where they were on display & found that I could not fit in one. This added to the growing list of cars to small inside for me to fit in. The bug has a problem with the steering column support arm sticking across from the top of the tunnel fouling my left leg. Better a nice blog an the A30 & A35 you recently did. I fit comfortably in them & Austin sprite's, Healey BN1,s, but not MGBs.
I am wearing my TWC shirt (in blue) with pride. Was a pleasure to meet you and share a brief chat about the turquoise wonder. Cheers chief👍👍👍
My lad Joshua was really happy to meet you and really enjoyed the show. I got him tickets for his birthday x
Again.
Wonderful wonderful wonderful, thank you very much and really nice to see the three of you sharing a stand
Walks straight past the Bugatti Veryron @ 15:15, that's why we love this channel. Thanks for the great video as I couldn't make the show.
The only car channel that would walk right past a GT40 without comment. Don't ever change!
Great to meet you at the show on your stand! Thanks too for the feature here on the orange Robin with the banner in shot! All the best.
Hi Ian, thanks for including the Lancia Betas! It was also good to say hello in person and buy a mug. As well as being on our stand I also enjoyed walking round as not so crowded as previous years.

Great video. It was nice to meet you and thanks for letting me sit in TWC.
Thank you for covering the NEC. I adore the true classics as well as the modern classics.
And a perfect ending!
That red and white Bond Minicar looked very nice.
The body and chassis on the Frisky stand looked like a Frisky Sprint. They turned up a few years later in Adelaide as a Lightburn Zeta Sport. Both cars are like hen's teeth.
Wow.Its like a big toy store.Never seen nor heard of most of those cars in U.S..They are beautiful. Thanks for sharing this!
I visited Sunday and watching your coverage has shown me how much I missed. Still, I did get to see your stand and My partner was kind enough to take My picture next to TWC, good times.
Seeing that Lancaster Insurance sign at the end reminded me of the old days!
Marvellous! got my car in Ian thanks the MK1 Scirocco storm Reg No CAB619W :)
That green V8-S brings back memories, my father had one in that Green colour with gold wheels! One hell of a motor!!!
Thanks great vidio walk round ,what a great show .thank you for coming over to the Minikits stand glad you liked it Ian. The minibug and trek are stimsons too . Thanks very much Ian. Really enjoyed those 2 vids. Almost felt as though I was there.
Another great video. Great to meet you at NEC on Sunday.
I think it's great we all have our own specific taste in classics. For me it's got to be a Citroen Xantia 3.0L.
Anyone else out there like the V6 Xantia?
Yes. Though I'd rather have an XM.
Yeah, but I would have an Activa. 😆
We’ve had 3 Citroen’s 2 bx and last was xantia. Great for caravan towing
I'd happily own any Citroën other than the ones which are modern - C3 Picasso excepted - but would be extremely happy to wake up one day and find a V6 Xantia sitting on my drive, wrapped in a pink ribbon and bearing my name and the words "happy birthday "

I don't think the car companies got the memo!
@Alfred Wedmore A couple of blokes in a shed at Blackpool didn't have the budget of a major manufacturer. But drape a couple of naked women over TVRs and suddenly all the press are milling around!
Was nice to meet you Saturday morning, love the new t shirts.
What a great event, that Nissan Bluebird is absolutely delicious.
Your knowledge of cars is remarkable Ian 👌
Thanks for taking us to the show. Great!

Wow, thanks Ian for yet another entertaining video, loved the variety of beautiful car designs, great to see the rally Maxi, and the horn symphony at the end was brilliant. Looking forward to the next video.
Shows are great fun, but such hard work.
It was brilliant, thank you.

I remember those SD1 headlamp wipers in 1980 advertising for the V8S model (in that lovely bright metallic green!).
That was brilliant Ian! And it looked like you enjoyed every moment of it too! :-)
Stunning Green Opel Manta, thank you for showing it!
I have the same model in Monza Blue, it’s a manual 1900 SR, would be happy to let you review it in a future video 😀
Very nice to meet you for the first time and to look at TWC and Gisele in the flesh for the first time.
Great walk around video and amazing knowledge contained in that head!
Love the Rover SD1s. I've owned seven over the years and loved my LHD 3500S
Yeah, those 3 examples ofin different colours looked fantastic.
We had a Bluebird Premium, that was the absolute base model, very nice cars
Thank you so much for these videos Ian, I will have to get to that one year, it's a trek for me but will be well worth it seeing all of those fantastic cars.
Nice walkabout, thanks very much Ian. I did like that mark X convertible.
Fantastic video Ian and an extra thank you for the bonus footage of the Manta A. Thanks for the walk round Ian, couldn't go myself this year, hopefully next.
Good to see you and Twc driving towards Newtown yesterday morning :)
The Rover SD1 is a great looking car. It always reminded me of a Maserati Indy.
Awesome walkaround and all without a script.
Part2 just as brilliant as part 1 . Fantastic walk around . Loved it!
Good looking eye catching Car
And at least it wasn't a Robin Reliant. That roll over if you breathe on them too hard.
Thanks Ian, great informative videos for those of us unable to attend.
Cannot describe the excitement I felt pointing at my TV as you panned past my Peggy and my friend Ieuan's Patch and Tch the trailer! 😍
There you go, Ian. A 👍 after 12second of uploading! That's how confident I am that this won't suck!
Really enjoyed meeting you at the show on Saturday and talking about the sorry state of the ex hubnut rover 800 and my bmw e36 brake line saga
Another great walk-round video with yet more fascinating facts. You've filled in some gaps for stuff I missed on Sunday (we chatted briefly about your Multipla and trying to get the Sana running) so thanks for that 👍
I too was staggered at the 10 grand asking price for the blue X type, but to be fair it had done under 10k miles.
Lancia HPE was shown at Platt Fields car show in the late 70's and there was a TIGER on the roof !
Another great look around the show, I'll have to make a trip there one day, just to see things for myself... :D
Just a few bits of info for Humber fans the Supersnipe estate was worked on and trimmed in Carbodies Coventry in was on the same track as the Black Taxis. Not a term a person of my vintage would normally use ….but….that was AWESOME 🤩
What a sight it would’ve been if all the green cars across the two videos, we’re got together for a photoshoot.
The Reliant with gullwing doors in Delorean guise was at the British Motor Show at Farnborough this summer. Didn't see it run which was a shame, although the thought of a Reliant at 88mph is terrifying......
Great show, lots to see. A Reliant Kitten chassis, I was able to see what mine looks like without a body.
That was a Rebel chassis.😉
Gosh, I wish we still had headlight wipers and colourful interiors with velour.
I have never been to this show, but it looks very similar to the massive annual Techno Classica show in Germany. That one's always a lot of fun.
That's a show I would love to get to one day.
Thank you for your videos of the show. Hopefully I will make it there next year.
Fantastic videos, watched them all. Your car knowledge is wonderful, makes me feel less nerdy.
The horn blasts at the end... Could have had the same effect with one lone Mercedes Grosser!
My second car was a Mk1 Scirocco, loved it to bits .
@14:25 I also love Beautiful Bristols, I only saw some old cars though?
The show that proves how we've become so boring with our choice of car colours. Bring back avocado! Thanks for a great video, Ian.
Indeed: I was out for a walk today and couldn't help noticing that as the traffic passed, there were 23 cars in a row that were black... and the next three were dark grey! And people say the 1930s were drab because all the cars were black!
That Opel Manta Ian, is a car I always desired after owning an Opel Kadett SR S a rally sports……😀 excellent report from the NEC
I,m 67 years old and had a super good time in 60,s love the old cars and trucks and still do, I had a 69 firebird at the time l now have a 64 ford pu and love I always have people ask me if would like to sale it (no) I enjoyed your video.thanks
We really enjoyed the Horn show finish! Was extremely loud over in Hall 8 👌🖖
Great walk around Ian 🚙🚙🌟
Fantastic video Ian. Wish I could have gone but unfortunately was otherwise engaged. Spotted my late dads old scimitar, the blue one with vtec. It was v6, maroon and a bit scruffy when he had it!
The Jaguar stand “I don’t know how friendly they are” 😂 oh so true, usually behind barricades and fluttering banners.
I was gently joshing about how friendly the two clubs are to each other, though I think many Jaguar owners are in both clubs!
@@HubNut quite 😂
I couldn't get there ,but great to see you videos. Well done

PMSL..... "Beautiful Bristols". Why can I only think of Miss HubNut laughing like a drain at this 🤣🤣
Thanks again Ian great video as always very enjoyable
Wow - just wow! I got to go on that event some day!
Darn it - completely missed out on the micro cars. Great vid yet again.
Absolutely brilliant, I thoroughly enjoyed this
That Triton Green Rover is wonderful!
Good chatting to you on Sunday.
I hope Miss Hubnut liked the photo of our grandson with the hubnut hat on . 😊
She loved it. So cute!
Thanks for the video, would love to go to this show in Peterson, next best thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1:06 The little racer with the Number 67........ That's what happens when you leave your car in the wash cycle too long......... *IT SHRINKS!* LOL
27:37 the best line
Jolly good show ian, really liked the video's, so much variety.
