I heard carrie call in yesterday, when I was driving home. She helped me realize how lucky and fortunate I am. I wish I could help her, but it feels like there is no end to stories like these. I think this show did more to help her than I could ever have with money alone.
John brings tears to my eyes sometimes when he is working through hard things with callers.
JD is soon much better than repeat-baby-steps George.
He's cringey.
We make 400k/year, how should I pay my 26k mortgage? These calls are getting ridiculous
Prank call
I agree- I am sick of rich people bragging too
Right? Anyone with a bunch of money here and there doesn’t need to call them.
At 60 I absolutely give a thumbs up to John’s view on buying back time. We are multi millionaire status and husband still working his career while most of our friends (much less net worth) are retired.
His job is mostly work from home/work while traveling. Will continue until we make the decision that the job isn’t worth the time spent. However it has caused issues with the retired friends who are now counting pennies.
@@kw3113 - fair points...😐
Great reply retirement is not an age. It’s an income.
@@kw3113 Take your humble brag elsewhere. I'm struggling, dont need to hear you talk about how great life is for you.
I disagree. All of the hosts are dynamic! You need to see the Best in them All! Get over it! Dave can't host everyday!
These two are my favorite
These two are my favorite
Who are you talking to?
Dave is unmatched. I wish he was immortal 😊
Not John giving a guy a complex about his father when the guy just wanted to know what to do with his money 😂😂
To Kim in Raleigh 01:46:00 - many attorneys will give a consultation for a small amount of money. In my area it’s about $100 or so for about an hour. Go with all information organized, bring documents, etc. Also, you might be able to find an attorney who will just review a property settlement agreement for a small amount of money. Research and ask around for the best divorce attorneys and see if you can get consultations and document review. If you can, go to about three of the best ones.
I disagree with John saying that man wasn't a good man because he wasn't in his son's life. We don't know the circumstances surrounding why he wasn't, but he still left his son millions of dollars to break generational curses. That's a noble act of care and love.
Agreed. And he was clearly sending cards and it’s possible the guy’s mom kept his dad away, rather than the dad wanting nothing to do with him
@@emalienoel7891 exactly, I'm super supportive and empathetic to single mothers it isn't easy raising kids on their own but all too frequently what you just explained is sometimes the case.
“Im scared to death” and “I can’t breathe” Delony IS BACK!!! 😂😂😂😂
He does that to troll y’all now and I find it amazing 😂😂😂 keep on engaging with the comments. This is called RAGE BAITING and baby he caught y’all
Couldn’t be more happy he’s BACK!!!!!! ❤🎉
It's always those two phrases or summarizing what the caller just said. 🤣
John “we’re just hangin out eatin nachos, that cool?” Deloney
I like it when John is there because money habits is a psychological issue.
Said a prayer for Carrie and her family ❤ 😔 they’re in my thoughts. Lord take care of them, give them strength and peace that’s only found in You 🙏 God bless y’all at Ramsey for always taking care of folks the way you do. Love y’all ❤
1:39 John was right!
Grieving I get but sometimes you don't have money to grieve. The man should not have quit his job. Plenty of times I've had to work through the bad.
Aside from their general credit card advice, the thing that gets me is their pauses when laying out scenarios or asking questions. It’s like they are trying to get validation. Just lay it out and wait for their response at the end.
I remember the first time I heard Jade ask, "How do you feel about that?" I was thinking that Dave never asks callers that. It's take his advice or not, but Dave's not taking a poll on if they agree with his advice.😂
Some of these questions were heavy!! Great job… it really amazes me the connection between finances and mental health. Shocking actually.
John: “You don’t sound like a real estate person.”
Dude she just told you she owns like 5 properties. Lol. Good grief.
So condescending... Well actually I am? WTF
John and his assumptions.... "you don't sound like a real-estate person."
why does he do this to himself? 😂
So cringy
But if Chloe leaves the job unexpectedly, wouldn’t she just have to pay them back? Is there an additional penalty that would be charged? If not, why wouldn’t she accept the payment and just save up that amount in your emergency fund in case she suddenly does leave.
41min 20 seconds in, this is the best excersize I've heard for a fun way to engage with a daughter/son about finance and plenty other facets of life in an entertaining way
Wonderful advice you guys(John & George) gave to the gentleman from San Diego. MY BULLET POINTS FOR OUR NEXT DICUSSION.
George “ the juice isn’t worth the squeeze” Kamel 😂
The funny thing is I'm the one who wants to knock it out and has all the spreadsheets and my husband is the one who wants to go out for dinner by Chinese and spend
I always feel sorry for George when he has to deal with John's ego and his belittling comments, a man with his qualifications needs to do better!!
George should lead and keep JD in the background 😒
George has enough ego himself he’s a big boy.
@@lisaj7011 And they act like they're best buddies.
It's part of their skit. 😂
Mad respect to Delony for the Humpty reference. George had no idea lol
Truth
The caller who just had $500k a year + for the rest of his life just fall in his lap.... Man, i hate those calls. I work my butt off for less than what this caller gets handed to him. For nothing. . Life is so not fair.
Tell that to someone who has to live of less them $5 a day and tell that to a person who has a disability body.. just be grateful and accept whatever postiom you find yourself, its a temporary life.
Dave always says life's not fair. Fair is where the tilt-a-whirl and cotton candy are.
Get over the victim mentality. Good grief.
I hate those calls too. They don’t need to call in this show. They can hire the appropriate professionals but too cheap to do so. These type of people are pure evil.
@@ca9777well the guy was 30 years old, maybe he’s never had to handle that amount of money and doesn’t know what to do?
Chloe if you like that job, I would try and stick it out for the three years for 10,000 toward the student debt. During the three years you could make payments on your own as well. Three years goes fast.
Delony's Fresh Prince of Bel AIr refrence made me die, yk uncle phils mortgage was insane
“ we make $350,000 a year and have 4 houses. What do we do?” Oh no. Such a dumb call to have on the show. Imo
Alright Delony! I hear you with the Digital Underground throwback!!!!👍🏾
John Delony has the personality of a bowl of plain corn flakes
😡 to find out your bio-dad was right up the road and neither dad or mom told him!! Parent privileges revoked - how crappy for you to keep that from your son!!! Now the empty hole from not having a dad, to knowing he was right up the road - now is a deep wound of rejection!! SMH!!
Last caller...nope, I'm paying off the mortgage first !! That student debt can wait.
To the lady in the messy divorce....look into the injured spouse filing with regards to taxes....if your husband wrote a bad check....they will go after him, not you. And she needs a lawyer...she being too laid back. How can a spouse with supposedly "no money" be in a position to initiate a generous settlement? C'mon now!!!!
51:35 great job, Dr. John, making Michael feel like crAp. Kudos to ya, bro!
Love this duo !!! 😂
1:39 they had a 900$ car payment! No jobs. Been broke with tragedy, worked through it. They're self imploding.
Caller with the loan re-payment plan, could likely go on the plan and simply pay back what they owe if they decided to leave? Generally plans like that would have it broken down monthly. Sometimes I feel like these guys get the blinders on and think in absolutes. If she is a good saver, she could make the payments to herself while on the plan, and if she decided to move jobs, she has it sitting there to pay her debt to the employer.
Creed is doing a cruise tour and this is gonna be the best one?!
George!
How the helllllllll is that story about the neighbor secret dad true 😮😮😮😮 damn dude. Best wishes man. Poor guy deserves the best
Yeah just my point. was not necessary
The call around 1:06 needed a sound adjustment.
Nice Ep!!
"Grandpa is out of the building. . ." Never misses a chance to mock Dave's age. Jerk.
Not sure how he condones that bullying...
Lighten up. You must be fun at parties.
lol the first caller. Good luck!
Kim, from NC get a lawyer. You need it!
Why not a third option. Save the money to pay it off and make a lump sum payoff.
Ramsey and the personalities always assume the person won't have the discipline to not spend the saved up money on a "bass boat" vs the actual item to be paid off.
@@bettedavis9261that’s one of my biggest problems with their philosophy. A person can’t pile up cash at a higher interest rate to pay off their mortgage without buying a bass boat, but that same person can save/invest every dime after the mortgage is paid off without spending it…ridiculous.
That was great👏
Can you apply for handicapped benefits?
Is Deloney High? He makes no sense sometimes....your new found father is not a good person..in 2 minutes he knows the father? So cringe to watch him
I know. I think most of the hosts, especially John, Ken and Dave feel like they know every detail that is going on without knowing the person.
The guy came on the show for help and hung up feeling like crap!!!
The guy had 31 years to tell him he’s his father and didn’t. He’s a deadbeat. John is cringe for a lot of other reasons but he was spot on here.
@@johnparker4484 he may have told him the truth. But the caller didn't call for his input on that situation. It was financial advice.i think he overstepped his boundaries on this one.
I didn't like how he compared his life to this caller life. That caller probably lived a fantastic life and he destroyed it in 2 minutes.
@@kimberlymartin459No actually he did call for Dr. John’s advice. They are told when the call screener answers the phone “your hosts are Dr. John and George Kamel” how can we help you? So he knew well ahead of time a trained counselor was going to be on the phone call. Plus it’s validation that he should have had a dad there and he didn’t. The guy wasn’t a good man.
No one asked why she's a stay at home while living with grandma. 1:32
Nice of John to insult that guys dead dad. Wtf.
You know what’s insulting is to call this guy a “dad” when he never even bothered to meet his son. He may of been a sperm donor but he was not a present, loving dad. Not a good man. John telling him “you are worth having a dad around” is not insulting, it’s the truth!
Im sorry but I really hate when Dave is not hosting. I DO NOT want to her John make every call a therapy session🙄. That's why he has his own show. I always stop watching, especially if it's John.
It’s his JOB, you purposely CHOSE to click on the thumbnail knowing Dr. John was on today so this is your fault. Get over it and move on! Some of us LOVE Dr. John! ❤
John and Dave are the best duo in my opinion
Maybe you're the one who needs therapy! 😂
@@G0ster John behaves much differently when Dave is at the desk!
I agree.... he moves the conversation where it doesn't need to go!
JD please stop with the rap lyric references, sooo cringey 😣
Po
Oh No..... steps out of order, they both fired.
😂
Dream team!!!!!! 🎉
Can't believe Delony nonchalantly lied during the intro saying they were live from Nashville, Tennessee whereas they do the show in Franklin, Tennessee.😂
Nashville is literally 10 minutes away. Get your panties out of a twist and seek counseling.
It's basically Nashville, dude. Minutes away. It's kinda like I say I live in Phoenix, because most ppl will know that city versus the suburb I'm in 5 minutes from the city lines.
Per Google maps 23 miles. Not an issue.
@@judykeownit’s way closer than that. We frequent Franklin monthly. Nashville is quite literally a 12 minute drive from Ramsey
Doesn't Dave say the same?
W
The second caller... the real estate agent.
Why do Dave's crew never mention when you're selling your properties and earn a profit... that they will have to pay capital gains?
If this lady sells her rental then uses the proceeds from that sale to pay off her other loans, she's still going to have to pay the capital gains tax.
Now her and her husband can sell their primary and have up to 500k profits with no capital gains owed. That will be their best bet and then move into one of their rentals and be debt free.
Anyways... why sell a money making machine to get on board with the baby steps? Honey!!! You doing the big girl steps right now. Keep those properties and continue doing what you're doing.
Maybe I missed something important when my mind was saying, "Nooooooo!!!!!"
Correct me if I'm wrong. I don't know everything 🦧
I’ll correct you. Dave is always under the impression that the primary home is superior and more comfy and emotional. So he considers all rentals to be liquid faster
Also, the caller is from Alberta, so...different tax laws in Canada.
@@DevHazy That's feelings.... not actual.
You can always turn your rental into your primary.
Most people who plans on liquidating their property they sell their primary cash it out, move in their rental, live in it for 2 years(you have to own it for at least 5 years), sell it after 2 years, move into the next rental for 2 years, sell and keep on doing it then they either stay in the last one or purchase one and stay in that forever and don't have to pay a capital gains tax. But you have to own each one at least 5 years and live in it for at least 2 years out of the five years.
So all this lady is doing is selling to pay off debt and pay capital gains, so she can do the baby steps....🤣
@@darj1m201 you may be correct. Because I don't know what other countries tax laws are.
I did miss the part about her living elsewhere. I just assumed she was in the states. My bad.
My bad guys. I listened for a second time. I was just as bad as these guys in the listening department. I was so into not selling. She was saying she wanted to sell so her and her husband can purchase apartment buildings(I'm with her 100%). I misunderstood and thought she was going to do some baby steps😂😂😂😂
