Armored trains in Polish service during the interwar period featured two flatcars on either end of the train, with the cones closest to the artillery carrying draisines, or armored cars with rail wheels. The other set were completely flat, carrying nothing, making the whole train more difficult to derail and as a probing car for mines. Those, I noticed, were completely absent from this film.

Nice model of a cool train.

[2] There is a flat car in the movie, but Lego bricks have some limitations - it is too long to run smoothly on curves. I found it senseless to build the second one.
Yes - the flats were used for the purposes You described (not always two, but from one to three cars according to the soldiers' memories), and this also mean that the train was operating without them during at least half of the mission, don't You think? :)

The "inter-war period" comprises the entire history of polish armored trains, so it is risky to claim that something was taking place during the whole period.
I found no word or photo concerning draisines or armored cars in the first years (1918-1919), so I'd rather say there were no draisines or armored cars with rail wheels then. They came into service a bit later.
