I have watched every episode of your trip around Aotearoa. I love your different view of the country I call home. All the best for the rest of your journey.
Absolute legend means a lot thank you for your special words and hope your having a wonderful day 🙂
Many of us here have done just that. Every episode 👍 🙌 😊
I think they were travelling around NEW ZEALAND,whats that other place you mentioned
@@steventhomas9461 if you're a Kiwi, Ha Ha
Ok fergs also has a ice cream/gelato place next door which is amazing. Fergs bakery pies are incredible. Also more there patisserie cakes are so so good. Like there little tarts ect. And the lemon meringue pie is amazing!
Your videos always hit the spot, another G & M hour done & dusted. Thank you
Haha good owl Richard the legend 😂 your a gentleman my friend
love it 1:30 your outside the Queenstown mews, literally a timeshare that has been in my Family for 30+ years, My parents brought it off my Grandparents a while back so we are down in QT for a reasonable price to stay there a week or 2 every year or so I feel grateful.. Yes I get it cost are high in QT but thats what you get for premium tourist towns no matter what country in the world.. though if you can get there the scenary, culture and atomosphere is free!
Hey hope your well! Wow that’s amazing actually a great way to get accommodation sorted when you’re down. Saves you a lot of money!
I'm a kiwi and heading to queenstown on 31 March.
Good tips as I havent visited for 40yrs.
What a full day! Awesome views, amazing food, fantastic company......what more could you wish for? 😊 Thank you for sharing the fun Mado and Glen! 👏 👏 👍👍 🙌 💫 💫 😀🙋♀️
Hi Glen and Mado, where will you be next? we arrive in New Zealand next Friday 8th March until 29th March, picking up the hire car in Aukland on Sunday 10th. We have been watching your videos prior to our trip, we just love you guys, so straight forward and entertaining, it would be great to bump into you two, we could get Glen a coffee fix lol x
Thanks for watching, guys! We are currently in Christchurch and heading to Westport and Abel Tasman soon 🤗
Thanks for the stroll thru Queenstown gardens. I had road trip with sister and my wee dog but had to rush thru gardens. Don't have my dog now as passed but good memories coming back thanks to you. Getting addicted to your videos! Love both of your enthusiasm ❤. Keep up good work.
Cecil Peak is the closest mountain and Walter Peak is the pointier one further away.. one of my favourite places…not so much the CBD .. yes it’s great to have lots of money when you go, but I’ve also gone there several times on a tight budget.
As a local growing up here in the 70s and 80s everything was different then, life was so much slower and friendly and cost free. This is a perfect example of corporate exploration of a then a simple farming town! My father ran a grocery store in the so called Queenstown mall when traffic ran through it. I Fucking hate this place!!!!!!!!!!!
It sure has changed, I first went there when I was 6 years old in 1970 with family , it's one of my favourite memories, we stayed in one of the cabins behind the Bottle house , I remember the grocery store you mentioned, Danes adventure tours , the huge trout and eels at the jetty, the original bubble shaped gondolas, the Meteor Hyrdrofoil , The Earnslaw, the U drive jet boats and trail bike rentals ( a fleet of Honda XL 100's) Popeye Lucas at Cecil Peak , this wasn't all in 1970 , we went there many times later on. It was touristy then but on a much smaller scale. I loved it back then , it made a pleasant change from being in Dunedin
Sigh yes yes we locals here hear that all the time. Actually it has a lovely community that looks after each other well. And it isn’t spoiled it’s beautiful. And it’s expensive if you go out eating out all the time or doing tourist things like people do when they visit ofc. But us locals don’t live like that. It isn’t a farming town anymore. Places grow. I’m so sick of people’s bitterness towards queenstown. Unless you live here these days you don’t really see it for what it really is as a community.
Kia ora Glen and Mado, I have been enjoying watching your videos and seeing my countrt through your eyes. The Keppler Track episode was epic. Make sure that you are at an Irish pub on Saint Patrick's day - it is a big thing in New Zealand.
its amazing to go near end of winter/ start of spring as theres still snow on mountains.
The first video I saw of you guys was your trip around in Otautahi Christchurch. Great to see you were enjoying the city I was born and raised in! Been to Queenstown back in 2021 and Arrowtown. I went during the early summer months in December January.
Great to see you's having an awesome time.👍♥️
Hope you’re having a wonderful day Logan! We are definitely are having a good time my friend 🙂
Highly recommend the Boston cream doughnuts from Ferg bakery
Oh wow your video popped up on shorts.
I'm the guy that was giving you pie recommendations outside the Ellerslie bake house,
Have you tried any of them yet?
Thanks guys for showing us around today
Looked like a fun day out, without huge crowds. Great way to enjoy the town.
I hope the expensiveness of Queenstown wasn't too offensive for you, it's almost halfway to Singapore prices. I love the drive through Arthur's point/ Malaghan's road through the north area of Queenstown below Coronet peak.
Hi there Mado and Glen, Qtown is a tourist destination.. fleecing tourists is the norm, sadly.
I’m seriously thinking about heading down there, after watch you two. Everywhere is expensive at the moment.
I’d still give it a go. How do you think it compares to , say, northern hemisphere, safety, price, easiness of living away?
Hey hope your well! It’s definitely an amazing place! Even Wanaka is an option which is a mini version of queenstown and definitely more peaceful and abit more on the cheap side. When it comes to safety it’s actually so safe and there’s no one stealing or anything. Everyone leaves there doors open and cars unlocked a lot of the time too. Prices are quite all the same around the country anyways when it comes to food and stuff.
Same alwasy chech in love what you do jusr came back from 2 mths in the south nisr you guys by only a day in sevral places keep up your videos
"Mado, Mado, down here, there's a Massage Parlour!"
No Glen NO ! :)
How much longer are you in the country for and what country next love your videos been watching since India ❤
The fire siren is to alert the volunteers so they can immediately head for the station
Yup your right we were staying with a guy from a fire station and he told me all about it
Random thoughts to feed algorithms.
Frisbee Golf. Wellington on a plate, burgers are the best. As a Kiwi I could live in Queenstown if away from the busy centre, I have no interest in the tourism hustle and bustle.
Just quietly if I could i would change Palmerston North's city motto it would be "sssh don't tell anyone". We don't get hords of tourists and the city empties out on public holidays! First city in Aotearoa to 100% electric public bus transport. We have botanical gardens, river walks, cycleways, excellent cafés and restaurants. No traffic to speak of. We have a mini train you can ride on! No. We have two mini trains you can ride on. Also grownup trains.
Hahah yeah good titles buddy! Did you make them up yourself?? I mean everyone has there interests and we respect that a lot ❤️ Palmerston north is definitely a hidden gem and very quite. We have been there for 2 nights actually but mado was very sick then so we didn’t make any videos at the time. We will be back anyways to make a video of it!
The coffee, pies and cream doughnut at ferg pastry are amazing. Arguable better than the burgers for me 😂
Get on those Bluff oysters while they’re in season!
Last time I was in Queenstown I brought along my electric skateboard. Getting into and around town was much more fun. By the tail-end of my trip, covid was taking over the world, which made it a lot easier to get Ferg burgers 😅
A lot of NZ fire stations are maned by volunteers so they use the siren to call them for duty. Those burgers got the juices flowing for sure.
Queenstown looks amazing
So many foreign trees could be mistaken for a garden in Europe somewhere.
The burgers are the best in the world iv had the pleasure of trying 3 so far. I don’t know how they do it
Wow that’s impressive there you go! The beef was delicious but the venison wasn’t all the best 😂
@@GlenAndMado venison back strap sliced sort of thin in white bread with real butter and tomato sauce ( salt n pepper is always good)
I think you mean lake front rather than sea front. Otherwise great video. Mado has the cutest way of talking.
35:14 love your vibe bro👍
Beautiful scenic region of the South Island of NZ . Thank you so much !
Your very welcome and hope your having a wonderful week Louisa!
@@GlenAndMado I am sitting at home in Sydney but I am going to do the North Lawson waterfall circuit hike on Sunday at the Blue Mountains. I enjoy your vlogs.
Queenstown is really expensive because it's so touristy, Arrowtown and other places are better value. Loving your channel
We even feel Arrowtown is gone in the same direction unfortunately hope your having a good one Ray! 🙂
Business owners are forced to charge higher prices for their goods because of the high rents they pay , Queenstown would be one of the highest charge for rents per square m than anywhere else in NZ .
The whole area, even Glenorchy and Wanaka are equally expensive and touristy. It is such a nice area but it is too touristy for mine. If I were to visit again id probably go camping and fishing in the back country to escape the hordes.
Great reviews team 👍
Ha seagull for tea 😅
Hope you visit Lake Hawea its Shangrila for sure and gobto Pembroke Patisserie in nearby Albert town- I prefer Lake Hawea to Wanaka less touristy
Shhh!🤫
me too!! I used to go there when living in Dunedin -Eicharts Hotel on the waterfront to play pool. It's been totally munted (just my humble opinion)I feel with greedy developers etc, Hawea right now is how I remember Q'town from back in the 70's.. Beautiful, tranquil and energising. Some accommodation providers are NOT that welcoming to your everyday Kiwi-they want the big spenders.
Great day for the race teamA 🌺🌺
It’s a lake guys ! 😂 too funny glad you had a great time !
Awh sure easily confuse my words sometimes! Knew someone would say something 😂🙌
Happieness is: Tucking into a Burger 🍔. It's a mouth full.
Look so yummy. Oh yeah 😎
On the lake front!
It's a lake man a lake .
I think I said sea then lake no😂
@@GlenAndMado You did and all🥰🥰
Do you get what fur burger means?
We would love to know!
Ohk hold your burger perpendicular and imagine it trimmed with "fur"...C'mon it's a girl thing..
I do love your videos, but I find the camera panning to look at things can be too fast for me and no chance to see things when it's blurry
Maybe sometimes but its kinda a style that you see what we see 👀🙂
@@GlenAndMado Thanks for the reply - it was particularly noticeable for me on the Routeburn walk vid - eg the pan would be deliberate to show the downriver view, but the motion never stopped!
@@TheSquidworm I get you, will try to move the camera abit slower from now on to fix the issue. Nobody ever mentioned it. In fairness we used to be worst doing it when we started making videos about a year and half ago and then adjusted the issue afterwards when we travelled India and stuff 😅
if you plan to head north may i sugggest okains bay om banks peninsular
Yeah we should be passing by!
Is it Guinness o'clock.....😂😂😂❤
Sri Lankan curries are the best, man I miss them.
Andy the food is absolutely amazing buddy! I love the way they bring out about 6 different curry varieties when your in Sri Lanka 😂
It's amazing that such a huge number of shops and other businesses are all seemingly able to make a living out of that rather compact town!
i wish you gus could stay in new Zealand forever 😓
Haha why!? We can’t be that good can we 😂😂😝
@GlenAndMado you just make us feel happy with your enthusiasm! ❤
I need to find patagonian ice cream. Must be a south island thing
Yeah only 4 of them actually all near queenstown 🙂
Got to have a coffee with pastries
Always haha :)
Mado is correct them burgers are overhyped ive had better burger in Wellington
Fergs are the best around
Did you say ‘Seafront’? 🧐
😂😂😂😂😂
17:47 😂😂😂
.... and you walked right past The Ice Bar .... Twice! 🤦
Haha yeah we know we don’t drink at all really! The Guinness was just an Irish thing just to get abit of socialising in haha but we wouldn’t be really into splashing out on the ice bar 😂
Smash burger Managwhai incredible burgers, Ferg burger over rated!!! love your videos!!
Too much hype about Fergs Bergs though the birds moving causes "THEY"RE GONE!" x 3. More like the Fergs were "THEY'RE GONE!" x 3.
Way better than Auckland 😅
Hahah I mean it definitely has more beautiful surroundings!
Hahah I mean it definitely has more beautiful surroundings!
Thanks for my dose my 'positive' and 'wholesome inspiration' at the start of the day 👍🏻
I definitely think it’s overrated but good for the nightlife 😆☺️
We lucky in nz you can see a lot for free
Very true it’s amazing!
Queenstown is a nice place, however a good place to stay away from unless you have more money than you know what to do with.
Yuppie you got that right 😂 it’s more just for the scenery for us
Overrated Queenstown is an expensive place and its getting worse with the cost of living skyrocketing NZ wide and its a racist country
Very true the infrastructure can’t handle all the people either!
