"I smell weed"!! - probably best dialogue of the whole video Glen😂
🤣🤣
awh your messing hahah
Like Wanaka and Queenstown, Arrowtown has sadly become a magnet for the rich and famous and rich and not so famous, so prices are ridiculous. Same has now happened in Tauranga and Mt Maunganui. Investors galore. Landlords are mainly Aucklanders now, so charge Auckland rents. So many families there now are desperate.
That's not how houses are priced. People don't go. Oh, I'm going to just charge them auckland prices. House prices are set by supply and demand, the only reason property is so expensive there is because people are willing to pay those prices.
Just love Arrowtown. In Autumn it is stunning. 🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂😊
its a funky town indeed! looking for more authentic places though with less tourists!
It is good that you have started panning for gold/sliver for Mado's engagement/Wedding ring.
I agree. Should do a live stream
Such a nice vlog - Arrowtown is really pretty🙂
very kind words, I really appreciate it!
thanks for watching! It is indeed😊
Heads up, the hottest temp record in New Zealand is 43°celsius in Sth Island Rangiora.
42.6, but in Rangiora yes, 1972? Love Canterbury, from Auckland
NZ suffers from industrial levels of tourism. Covid isolation was bliss when we were able to reclaim our countryside and towns. Social media is the death of any special place..
Another awesome video! Thank you Mado and Glen!😊👍🙌
Thanks for watching!🤗
Hey guys! great to have a glimps of an Irish couples NZ adventures, have a great stay!
Only Mado is German😉👍
My apologies to Mado Ha ha. Great vid.@@modfus
haha all good hard to tell these days as shes hanging around with me to much paul, she has an Irish accent nearly @@paulclarke4305
You should sell your videos to tourism NZ. Inspiring me to visit my own country😀
We stayed in Arrowtown last June when it was -4 celsius & the pipes to the laundry were frozen at our motel till md-afternoon. Deliberately stayed in Arrowtown rather than Queenstown which is too busy all year round.
A couple of great personalities .thoroughly enjoying your travels go hard guys
thanks Kim we have to keep going no matter what!
You need to go to the Ophir Post Office that is tiny and so old and you can get a special post mark when it is open - in the mornings only
thanks for the heads up we didn't know!
ohh nice, didn't know about that!!
Fun times ... lovely
I don't know about gold panning at Arrowtown but when I was 10 we panned for gold in the Cadrona River down near Wanaka and found small amounts of gold. Mind you I'm 65 now so that was over half a century ago 😂.
oh good to know, maybe will give it a go😅
love that town. went to a cool little gin bar there and saw two ppl go to the pub on their horses lol never seen that before
And when you come to Wanaka there's a Patagonia Ice Cream shop here too !
If you visit Shantytown historic village (up near Greymouth) then you can pan in their sluices and you're pretty much guaranteed to find some gold - I still have the bottle with two tiny flakes I found as a kid!
Interesting as always. Funny though cheese makes beer go flat???>
Another great tour! Should of gotten the magnet! lol
Arrowtown Bakery - awesome pies!
you also have to pan the light material from the top, then stratify and repeat. if you try digging around in the pan you'll never find anything. when you shake the pan side to side it moves the light material to the top and the heavies sink to the bottom.
They still use those red Collection boxes here in Australia as well.
Hi guys it’s important to pan for gold on the bends and with a mixture of rocks and grit. The gold gets trapped on the bends where it gathers and gets trapped.Luv your content.Im from Whakatāne but living in Melbourne.Keep up the Epic Vlogs ❤
Arrowtown is so beautiful. I'd love to go there.
why don't you make it happen whats stopping you?
It is really nice, definitely worth a visit!
@@GlenAndMado Too old and worn out.
love you guys
ahhh you finally made it to the home of the best pie shop in NZ... argh you looked through the door and walked on.. ah well hopefully you will be there a few days and can try it... its the bakery on the corner at the Chinese end of the shopping area
Guys, you missed the famous miners Cottages, just at the end of the street where you were, across from the Library.
Today's gold claim was those delicious plums 😊
haha true, they were delicious😅
Hopefully you are still in the Arrowtown area in Autumn. It is a beautiful scenery then
Nothing beats nz fresh air.
Beautiful country Newziland Beautiful people's
Haha! you got a gold pan, awesome, moonlight creek an golds borough are good places for gold panning, arrowtowns abit thread bare on gold, as its been done over so much but ya never know, good luck on future panning, its good fun, look for black sand an inner edge's of rivers an dig down as golds heavier than water an stones, so when swishing around whats in ya pan don't be to vigorous, shake the stones out bit by bit, love it, watch a quick video on it, cheers!
Kiaora from New Zealand Auckland, you both have had a great time experiencing such warm weather we lived in twizel for 8yrs .Take a look at Santos Bonnaci Aryan tatarian nations in America is most German largest and Black people English is 3rd in population numbers
better off with a plastic gold pan. I regularly go gold prospecting on the west coast. With a plastic pan you just need to rough it up a bit to remove the shine from the plastic as it's oily. But with metal pan you need to let it rust I think or 'season' it. There was one more very important piece of gold panning equipment you needed and that was a snuffer bottle to suck the gold up out of the pan. Gold is dense so it is with the other heavy objects in the river. You want to look for an inside bend with big rocks and move the big rocks and dig under them. You won't find gold with the sandy silty material.
SO MANY VIDEOOOOS
Plenty of gold in the All the rivers in the south island. Esp in arrowtown :)
maybe I'l hit the jackpot eventually haha
There us po boxes in some malls in NZ people rent them so they have a different legal address so you could have an address if POBox 14 Arrowtown Nz for example
Are you going to Wanaka guys? If yes, I’ll come and see you. 😎😎
I used to go there for Summer holidays in the 1960s before it became a real tourist town. It was much more authentic then and the 2 pubs were great. You could actually pan for gold and get a little if you had the patience in the heat. Now it just isn't the same which is sad.
Not to mention the 2m price tag for a house
PO boxes are still common throughout NZ its for ppl who may be nomadic or dont have a home etc.. also drug dealers use them lol
Good luck with the gold panning.
I am so glad you didn't find a gold nugget as it would have changed your charisma hehe. Great clip - my sister lives in Arrowtown, & loves it.
Irish to I nearly forgot green the map showing German red ,blue Black , purple English
Love your videos. The Chinese community in Arrowtown were treated poorly, infact very poorly. Most of them came here hoping to send wealth back to their families (coming from China hoping to bring money back to their families) and unfortunately alot of them died poor and alone. Same as in Samoa in Ww2 but the difference with Samoa is that they were accepted and created families, businesses and lifestyles that created the diversity that is now Samoa.
lol that tree sign was pretty useless; i wouldn't have known either
Great video. Nice try at panning but you do need allot more of practice. One thing you need to do before panning for gold anywhere else in NZ is look up NZ law regarding gold prospecting as we have allot of restrictions about were you can legally pan for gold. The NZ government owns all mineral rights here.
Missing you ❤❤Glen medo i am from Pakistan ❤❤❤❤
🧡🧡
@@GlenAndMado both for love ❣️❣️
Glen, you already struck your golden fortune the day you met Mado!!
Yes we know the Hot spots
you need to show me then haha
In the water....look for the X
Plastic pan is better Glen, metal one is better used not new.
good to know, he got a plastic one in the end and it's also much lighter to transport haha
I've tried numerous times to post a comment about panning for the yellow stuff, but the comment keeps getting deleted or hidden!😐
The above comment is sticking so I'll add to it. Use the G-thing to search for yellow stuff locations by adding the words 'fossicking nz' to the word for the yellow stuff.
Unusual! I'l see can I see the hidden comment now!
@@GlenAndMado I can't even reply to my own comment, as it also got deleted! I think YT must think my post is about some kind of scam!
The Chinese who came to Arrowtown for gold stayed and made our home more golden.
I know it is difficult to be seen when vlogging and wearing hats but it is very dangerous to go out in NZ sun without wearing a sunhat
💯
Aotearoa New Zealand's greatest treasure comes from people who make us Kiwis. From our indigenous Maori. Europeans, Asian and all that make us Kiwis. Diversity is to be embraced and enjoyed.
Alllll wrong lol
Got to love tourists rent them a gold pan for fifty bucks so they can spend the day finding fifty cents worth of gold😂
it was $5 but yeah
