Brother PE900 Embroidery Machine | Setup & 1st Time Using

- Let's set up and use the Brother PE900 embroidery machine for the 1st time. In this video, I'll be going over wireless LAN connection (WiFi), registering & linking the machine to the Artspira app, and downloading the Brother Design Database Transfer software (currently only available for Windows based PCs, no Mac / Apple computers) to wirelessly send embroidery designs to the machine. Then I'll be testing out a couple designs to see how they stitch out.

I will be making more videos with the Brother PE900 this year and comparing it with the PE800. It boasts several enhanced features including more built-in embroidery designs, wireless LAN connection, color sort function, jump stitch trimming, and compatibility with Brother's Artspira App. This app has an assortment of additional free designs and project inspiration, along with the ability to draw your own embroidery designs and transfer them to the embroidery machine wirelessly.

Bummer that my MacBook would not be compatible, so I would not purchase this machine. I think I’m going to inquire to Brother, if they intend to include Mac for the software download, it’s a deal breaker for me. Great demo, you should consider doing classes for pay, your expertise would be worth the cost to help a beginner get started.

It is strange that the Artspira app is available on Apple iPhone/iPad, but the Design Database Transfer software is only for Windows-based PCs...

Hey Jen, thanks for the demo. Just wondering would you say the PE900 would be o.k. for someone who knows absolutely nothing about embroidery machines or would PE800 be best?
If you're an absolute beginner, I would probably get a used PE770 or PE800. At least the depreciation on the machine is already done and it's a lower stakes way to try it out. A lot of people bought sewing machines and embroidery machines during the pandemic, and I'm guessing many didn't stick with it, so there are some secondhand deals to be had.

Thank you for your video. I'm excited to learn more and get started. I don't have a machine yet, but I learned from another video about this machine that it counts down the stitches. I noticed you asking several times "Is that it?" or "Are we done?" Would that stitch count on the screen answer your question? Thanks also for letting us know it's not Mac compatible - bummer. I was getting pretty jazzed about the machine! Thanks, Jen!
Looks like some good improvements over the PE770 I used to have. And seriously, WTF is wrong with people thinking it's OK to ask you for tech support????

Hello, I just get the PE 900 and the first strawberry was more in white color I just made everything like you and it was in white mostly ? any solution, tried that for 5 times and it was the same
So, I gotten a brother 600 and I’m a bit confused. I managed to get it to work, but the bottom thread part. Do I really need to put one there? Because whenever I try not to do it, it kept saying how I needed one. But the color at the top that I’ve been trying to do doesn’t show up. Bottom one keeps showing up if I happen to change the color or what not. I could’ve gotten the one in the video. But that was the only embroidery machine I could afford for now. Any recommendations on what to do?
the bottom thread part ? sounds like the bobbin.. and yes you need both the bobbin and the thread on top to make it work.

Can the wireless work with MacBook?? My daughter just ordered this today. Is it just the Artspira app that doesn’t work with Mac?
The Artspira app works with iPhones/iPads/Android phones, currently the wireless software Design Database Transfer only works for Windows based PCs. You can still use a USB stick to transfer designs to the machine.
Would you be able a design and save to a usb drive and then plug in to the machine directly? I only have Mac products.
Yes, in fact the WiFi isn't even working right today so I ended up transferring via USB.
