I truly think this is the World's number one log ride.

I rode this ride for the first time in 2015. The magic of everything working so well will never leave my mind, especially the amazing eyes on the animatronics. I miss this ride so much.

Glad I was able to come back here last July and ride Splash Mountain for one last time at WDW. Feels like this ride was half of my childhood. I'm sad to see it go and I'll miss it for a long time
I went the last day, I still miss it.
I went to disney and its in magic kindom i love the splash mountain and space mountain and the happily ever after fireworks
I like Walt Disney World's because their seating arrangement is more comfortable and easy. But I like Disneyland's because it is more critter/song-of-the-South themed rather than frontier themed like Disney World.
Tokyo's Splash Mountain is also frontier themed where Tokyo Disneyland Resort's Critter County is just an expansion and sub-set of the park's Frontierland counterpart, the Westernland and it is themed to Texas and the New Mexico.
JKalama In California it is critter bayou orientated with the bayou-ish themes of the Critter Country area and Southern jazz festival style in-ride soundtrack.

I love both, but I gotta say Magic Kingdom. Disneyland was the prototype and this version really had a larger budget and perfected everything. It also tells a more defined story arc. I love Disneyland's but this is the best ride at WDW, hands down. It's also the longest thrill ride.
Technically, it's not the longest thrill ride, as the thrills only last for 3 seconds. It's 60% a dark ride, at least.

I liked the Disney World version because of the bluegrass music. The remaining Splash Mountain which is at Tokyo Disneyland plays the same music thank God!

確かに。最初のカーブも左右が逆だ！（なんか変だと思った…）
日本人は左に曲がることに対する恐怖が強いと言われている。そのため日本ではスプラッシュマウンテンならず、ジャングルクルーズやビックサンダーマウンテンでも左の旋回が多く見られる。(確か)

左回りは逆に安心できるので日本のスプラッシュマウンテンは賑やかな所は右回りで最後の大きい落下の前は右に回っているんですよー

I think, whichever you grew up with might be your favorite. I grew up with the Magic Kingdom. I know the music from that one better. Disneyland has the smaller logs and tighter turns in the ride,.. it's smaller. Magic Kingdom's logs are bigger and more comfortable which necessitates larger bends in the river, and it makes the ride feel more spacious. But, I could totally understand someone preferring the Disneyland version if that's what you first came to know!
+B Hanson I loved DL's version until the first time I rode MK's. I think it's like the way some people love MK's Space Mountain until the first time they ride DL's.
They both get you stuck too because you're waiting so long to get on and off that it backs up.

My autistic son and I love this ride. We say "Bear booty!" every time we see the back end of the big bear.
I like MK better just because i live closer to Disney World. I live in NJ. Also because the logs are more comfortable in WDW.

Love this ride.
I honestly never have been to Disneyland to go on that version of Splash Mountain, just WDWs version. However, I have heard the soundtrack and prefer the ride concept of WDW and DL's version of the soundtrack considering you have one extra song - "Burrows Lament/Sooner Or Later"
Disneyland's version recycled a lot of animatronics from a show called America Sings, so the sequence before was included to reuse several of them. Since Disney World's version required all-new figures, that version cut down the animatronic number to cover only what was needed; the sequence before the lift wasn't considered essential, so it was modified to cut out the animatronics (and in turn, the vocals).
In WDW Burrow's Lament is just the instrumental tense cartoony music and not having lyrics, just choirs.

I have literally always DESPISED this ride. I love the scenery and all but I cry everytime we get to any drops because I'm afraid of them- yet for some reason no one else I go with is scared of it so they force me to go on it anyways =-=

You're able to exit the line at the loading station and go straight to the gift shop. That's what I did.

"Disneyland" used generically typically refers to the original Disneyland park in California. Other resorts branded as "Disneyland" have their respective locations attached to them.

we are going to the same place and we are going on the same ride.
Went to florida for the first time and waited fifty minutes to ride it. never did because it shut down due to "technical difficultie." sad but maybe next time

I had to wait 3 hours for it. In the end the wait was ok because it was hot outside and you get splashed in water

Only thing that I find WDW's version better is that it's not next to the Haunted Mansion

Homer Thompson DL's version has a half-empty, half-dark bayou scene that you fly through with almost no storytelling, cramped and uncomfortable logs, no waterfalls on the lift hills, and audio-animatronics that are always, always, always, always broken.

They just fixed all the animatronics at DL's in a 4 month refurbishment. But MK's is still better.

Disneyland's version is just arranged better in my opinion. I prefer the orchestra over the bluegrass music in WDW.

Yeah. Well it was originally orchestra and they changed it to Bluegrass wen the WDW version opened up. This was due to the placement in Frontierland instead or Critter Country.
