Cheer mate, Great video. Really loved your sons contribution at the end. Glad you left it in. I was for some stupid reason standing on mine to reach a Kayak strap and it broke off. Plan to reattach it today now that I have the clips. Well done on the tutorial and easy to follow instructions. Subbed.
Thanks for the vid, I knocked a flare loose and this is exactly what I needed. Running 33"s with no lift and fully flexed the rear tire came up and bit my rear flare. No one to blame but myself! Thanks again.
This Spring, I am mounting 33's but I am going to put a 2.5 Teraflex suspension lift on it. I am just scraping the money together right now. Thanks for the kind words.
Thank you so much for creating this video. To make a long story short, A few months ago a deer ran into the side of my jeep and broke two of the plastic clips holding my fender together... I replaced the clips but little did I know that the remaining clips were broken as well. Fast forward to a few days ago, I was on the freeway and my rear rent fender flare fell off, along with my liner. I refused to get this taken care of at the dealership since they would charge me an arm and a leg, so I purchased the fender flare, and watching your video definitely taught me what to do and what tools and pieces I will need to completely fix it myself. I will let you know how it turns out after I order another fender liner. Thanks for the video!
Thank you very much!!! I was about to remove all inside my Jeep looking for the metal screws or clips!!! Actually I did´n know how to fix it until now!!!!! So the video was surprisingly helpful !!!
Hey big thanks, I just had my Yellow Jeep Wrangler painted a cool deep deep purple, I took everything off to save money at paint shop, broke 20 clips removing, so now I am ready to re install today, very helpful, yes I ordered the clips on line, am in Canada was only place I could find, jeep wanted 64 bucks for package of 8, speaking rectangle clips, Amazondotca had bag of 25 , well with shipping was 20 bucks
Jeep Australia wanted A$10 each clip: 11 x $10 = A$110. I ordered from your Amazon link above -- saved me $90 incl. postage to Sydney. Thanks for this! Good man.
Hey, what ya take a vacation from videos ? I find myself back looking at JeeP Rubicons, and Shhh Tacomas. lol. Love having the BED space...... But a JEEP just looks way cool........though Tacomas are not to shabby. Well. Keep them videos coming.........Have a safe off road winter.
Thanks so much for the video and the links to get the parts on Amazon. I had to take my fender off (which is easy) but it doesn't want to go back on, especially with the clips that broke when it came off. Amazon Prime, and it'll be back on this weekend. Awesome!
Press the "Christmas Tree" plugs in using a short screwdriver handle as a pushing tool, or use a deep-well socket of the correct size and tap on that with a tack hammer. Usually the last ones stick because of a slight misalignment between the plastic hole and the steel one, so shoving the plastic liner around some will usually help with this, too.
Is there a trick to getting the clips on the flare to fully engage through the body? When I tried, a few (more than half) would not penetrate through the hole in the body to fully engage. Seems the lip on the flare is not stiff enough to force the clip into the hole.
Great video, thank-you. I actually prefer not to fake the video cause it shows the level of difficulty, as opposed to Hollywood. Tell your son to expect that life is usually more difficult than what you see on TV or RUclips....it's a good life lesson. Cheers.
Can you tell me if any adjustments were made to the rivet tool before using with these nylon/plastic rivets you refer to in your video, because I wrote down everything verbatim and the tool right out of the box does not seem to be the fit for this size rivet. Help please.
So the clips for the liner are no good after you've removed them? I dented my fender flare so I removed it and took the liner off to fix the dent. Now to get those clips back in there is next to impopsicle
Wildernessways thank you for replying I really appreciate it. Is your riveter for plastic rivets specifically? I can only seem to find riveters for steel or aluminum around here.
ThePols87 The riveter is for any type of rivet. It is just the size that matters, you need to make sure that the riveter will accommodate the size rivet you will be using, most standard rivet guns are too small.
Now all You need too do is hit something with one of the Fronts and follow up on installing the Front Flair, then Your Tutorial would be complete! Just being a smart ass... Great Video! ;)
Good of you to make a video. I had a hard time getting a real handle on the three different fasteners I needed. After a bit of research I found everything at clipsandfasteners.com. Super easy and I was able to use the extras for misc around the JK.
More than 6 years later and this video is still very useful. Subscribed!
Thanks for the lesson. It’s these seemingly small tasks that not only save you money but build up confidence to do more jobs yourself.
I’m doing exactly what you did, replacing the right side fender flare and liner. You made my job a lot easier. Really appreciate the vid.
Cheer mate,

Same exact set up and cause for me. Lol

The convo between Father and son is priceless! LOL and then he did a cameo and you didn't even realize it until after you saw the video 🤣😂
Awesome! Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks! Love the realism of the last rivet not going in! 👍🏻
Well done! I wiped out our rear flare as an RV tow....Ugh. Cameraman did a GREAT job! And I love the commentary! Thanks!!
well done, and thank you for sharing -- classic father & son fun at the end!
HI
Thank you very much for taking the time to make the video and to put the links up for getting the parts! Much appreciated !!!
Thank you very much!!! I was about to remove all inside my Jeep looking for the metal screws or clips!!! Actually I did´n know how to fix it until now!!!!! So the video was surprisingly helpful !!!
Thanks for the video. Glad you didn't cut the 'problem clip' - that's reality. Informative AND I got a chuckle at the end.

They do they here in Japan with everything, even lug nuts! Insanity. Just makes more people buy Chinese.
Great how-to video. This is exactly what I needed to switch out my rear JK fenders as well. Love the father & son part :-)
Thank you it was very helpful and thank you for not cutting it out
well done video. got the same trail tattoo on a jeep jamboree. thanks for walking me thru the repair.

Yup, took a break before I started my series of Jeep videos, I kind of ran out of ideas. Now I should have a new one up about every 2 or 3 weeks.

nice video... helped us understand how to reattach the fender after my daughter knocked it off.... thanks a bunch!!!
Thanks for this! I was going to take my Jeep to the body shop to get this done but now I'll fix it myself instead!
Yes very helpful. Your son busting balls was hilarious! I am with you on those clips...some are easy, some are a PITA.
Is there a trick to getting the clips on the flare to fully engage through the body? When I tried, a few (more than half) would not penetrate through the hole in the body to fully engage. Seems the lip on the flare is not stiff enough to force the clip into the hole.
This is what I'm fighting with right now. ALL of my new clips will not penetrate
Thanks! Nice video, told me everything I need to know to repair my fender.
Fantastic Job! Saved me money at the body shop. Thanks for sharing!
love the end :) Thanx for the info
You saved me so much time and a trip to the stealership !!!
Hi. Thanks for this video. Where did you get the clip that you're showing at 4:40?
Ha. Good one. Reminds me of how my son and I are. I enjoy your channel, keep em coming.
Great video, thank-you. I actually prefer not to fake the video cause it shows the level of difficulty, as opposed to Hollywood. Tell your son to expect that life is usually more difficult than what you see on TV or RUclips....it's a good life lesson. Cheers.

Best video I’ve seen on the subject.
Looks like the 1st link to the rectangular clips is wrong? I is for the Christmas tree type...
I was unable to push my flare back in. No matter how hard I pushed, they would not seat.
Your son in the back!😂😂😂Great video though. Just tore my fender off. $7.99 for clips and tool kit!!!
Thank you for your video, it helped me re-install my rear fender too. Where did you buy the rear bumper of that Jeep? That's exactly what I've
Thanks man! The links were as helpful as the video.
Great video, made even better by leaving in the 6.36 section.
Your son has a great sense of humour :-)
+ntsms69 Thanks for the kind words.

ThePols87 They may or may not work, but the odds are you should replace them. They are cheap and that way you know they will hold.
Wildernessways thank you for replying I really appreciate it. Is your riveter for plastic rivets specifically? I can only seem to find riveters for steel or aluminum around here.
ThePols87

Wildernessways 10-4. I just wasn't sure if the riveter would have too much force for a plastic rivet. Thanks again!
it that all one piece or can u remove it in sections? i.e. the fender and then the inner skirt
Thanks. Just what I needed.
Awesome video man! I really appreciate the help!
Awesome video. Was very helpful! Thank you!
Was he 17 years old at the time? I have one that age and that is exactly how it would have gone at my house.
He is actually 15, but his sarcasm is advanced for his age ;) He gets that from me.
Can you make anotaré vídeo for the front fender flares?
+Hugo Lopez The front fender flares are installed essentially the same way, but if I manage to tear one off, I will do so.
Très bon vidéo, c'est très bien expliqué....Merci or Thanks ...
my rivet gun is the same as yours but my keeps braking them.
+David Alvarado Perhaps you are not using it correctly, or your rivet tool is defective. I did not have any problems with mine.
+David Alvarado having the same problem. Did you figure it out?
Nice work thanks for this!
Thank you. Happens to me I got it. thank you again.
Now all You need too do is hit something with one of the Fronts and follow up on installing the Front Flair, then Your Tutorial would be complete! Just being a smart ass... Great Video! ;)
just what I was looking for thanks, !!
Very Helpful. Thank you.
Thanks so much. That was so helpful.
Great video thank you 🤠
Thank you so much!!! Great job too!
great video. very helpful thank you
Great video, thanks!
Don’t worry I have a house full of smart arse camera operators, expert advisers and those who know it all!
Do you need to use that gun ???
Not this specific one, but you do need a rivet gun capable of taking 1/4 inch rivets.
Good of you to make a video. I had a hard time getting a real handle on the three different fasteners I needed. After a bit of research I found everything at clipsandfasteners.com. Super easy and I was able to use the extras for misc around the JK.
WOW thanks so much!!!! i love you tube.
very informative. thank so much.
Lmao, you didnt have to order the plastic clips, napa, autozone, and oriellys all have them in stock in the dorman help section.
You never explain or show the "tool" for getting the clips out. I think I see but had to play over and over again.
good video thank you.
good job! teach him that half ass is not the way to be!! helpful vid as well!!
thank you
Cameraman was right.
thanks w. ways . i bet the dealer hates you.
Not really, there are some things that realize that I can't do, for that I go to my dealer. But I am sure that they would love to see me more ;)
Mine gets his from his mother ;)
Who's here in 2024 because their OlllllllO fender fell off? ✌
Thanks for the video - save me $400.
