So basically, the sliding "deck" will let you lie out in the sun. Other uses: Outdoor cooking platform. Wilderness dining table. Fish-fillet station. Mobile arm wrestling venue. Karaoke runway. All-terrain diving board. Levitation illusion device.High-speed clothes dryer. Retractable turn-signal inspection terminal. Vehicle-to-vehicle docking sidewalk. Freeway-yoga meditation podium.

    Wow! Amazing craftsmanship!
And the floor, the look of the wood and the color is a perfect match!
So many van builders I've seen have chosen the very dark brown and "dead" looking wood on their floors. This is really good looking.
Can't wait to see the amazing finish of this home.
And for us who still have to convert our first van, it has become quite clear; the fewer squaremeters/-feets, the more thoughts, longer planning and time to build the interior of the bathroom, kitchen, lounge, bedroom, garage, etc. compare to a house.
With respect, thumps up and love from Denmark (Y)

Wow. It's impressive what you have done. Absolutely love the wood you have chosen to use on the floor and the deck. I am in the process of building my van. I can truly appreciate the work you have done now that I am trying my hand at it. Still in the beginning stages, will be starting the wiring next. Never have done any of this before, but enjoying the learning curve and the challenges along the way. Enjoy watching your build and grabbing any crumbs of information i can. Look forward to your next video.

Love the floor and the slide out is very cool! You could set it up as a bar or serving area too when you entertain outside👍🏼

Wow!! That flooring is gorgeous 😍. Imagine sitting on that deck looking out to a red dirt sunset 🤩😍.
Making me want to get a van sooner.

Max amazing job. The flooring and table look great. Well done you. I’m laughing at you taking your boots off. When Occy is just going to jump all over it with his dirty paws lol.

For someone who says he doesn’t know how to do stuff, you’re doing a ripper job! Keep loving what you’re doing. Yay, van life down under!

That looks great. Very similar to the covered patio coming out the back of our build. One suggestion that we learned the hard way is to have fold down legs from the inside of the deck with adjustable castors at the ends. That way we can just drop them down and adjust the castors to whatever the terrain is and it takes off the stress to the more forward screws of the drawer slides.

Keith, where can I see your patio? I planned a screened in back porch. and I’ve yet to see one in a build! 🧐🤗

Sophie. Wow a full screened in porch would be awesome. We live in Costa Rica. Unfortunately I don’t have any vlogs but basically the patio comes out from the full length of the bottom bed of the garage so we lost about 4 inches of storage from under the bed. Our screens as of now only enclose the main cabin but now you got me thinking. The cover, when we can get it shipped here, will be a moon shade.

Keith, I loooved Costa Rica! I’d also want something like a Moonshade for the side door, but for the back porch the awning will slide from the roof rack and the retractable screens will roll from the sides. Made so many sketches already, I think it might just be doable! 👌🦟🗺😍

Sophie we were thinking about that too. I would recommend Velcro for your corners on the screens. The magnets keep separating at any gust of wind. If you ever make it back to Costa Rica (when the borders open again) you have a place to park and plug in.
