The final war started when LTTE blocked the Mawilaru water for poor farmers for cultivation. Farmers protestered and demanded the government to help them for few consequent years . The war needed to stop LTTE atrocities across island.
The government gave 2 weeks ceasefire for civilians to go out of war zone . The UN workers used the ceasefire and went out of dangerous zone. But LTTE kept civilians by force as human shileds on gun point. When ever Tamil civilians tried to escape, LTTE brutally killed their own supporters. They kept them as human shields. Did LTTE formed to protect Tamils or Tamils were there to protect LTTE Ltd of Pirabakaran & sons ? LTTE is the main reason of this much higher number of Tamils death. There were many SL soldieres helped injured Tamil people taking them to hospital , giving them food and First AIDs . Here Indian TN media shows only negative sides of SL army.
Pirabakaran behaved like a brutal dictator even for Tamils . He killed all other Tamil leaders and intellectuals one by one to make himself as one and only dictator to Tamils. He never participated directly in any war . He hided behind civilans and children . At the last war ,he surrounded with white flag after many innocents and SL soldiers died. Why he couldnt bite cyanide or blast his body like a hero ? He hanged cyanide capsule on LTTE child soldiers' neck. There are about 20,000 - 30,000 Sri Lankan soldiers died at the last war . Many of them lost hands and legs or became blind . Many wild elephants and animals died and injured from LTTE land mines. SL soldiers too came from poor families . They went to fight for country from their side. And 40 % of LTTE soldiers were children under 18 years . LTTE kidnapped school children and forced them to join in LTTE . People afraid to oppose Pirabakaran . How a person can fight for freedom when he himself violated basic human rights from the begining ?
By the way, who is India to ask about it. ? India should stand in the International court for giving fund, army training , weapons and protection to Sri Lankan terrorists when especially they planted ambush on SL army vehicle and hide in India under the Indian government protection after terrorists attack on a country soldiers from 1980s. What India would do if terrorists do such things to Indian army ? Doesnt India face issue in Kashmir or Nagland ? India also should answer for killing innocents, gang rape and for plundering gold and money durining house to house search by IPKF rapist Indian army.
