I stayed at Gin Gin many years ago. Stranded by flood water my friend and I slept in the car. We arrived after dark and were surprised in the morning to find I had parked behind a butcher shop. Imagine the butchers surprise when he open his shop early in the morning to find 2 teenage girls asleep at his back door! We spent most of the day at a servo and they were really amused when we asked where's the swimming pool, no pool there back in early 1971! Mention Gin Gin and that's what always comes to my mind. Something I have never forgot so I thought I would tell you some useless info!
Great vid. The truck still looked too good to be growing trees. Definitely worth the trip to head away from the coast and see what’s inland. I’ve s always hugged the coast on nearly s all of our trips. Will change all that when we retire. Thanks again for sharing & safe travels 😃👍
Thanks Dennis, the country towns are great, so much to offer. They often have amazing bakeries, lots of history and lovely locals. We are probably going to head down your way early next year and explore those beautiful south coast beaches. 😊
Enjoyed the video. That area is a regular part of our stomping grounds for us. We particularly like the Yarraman - Nanango - Kingaroy - Wondai -Goomeri and Burnett Hwy return loop as an example. You picked a good day to visit the bakery at Goomeri. It is not uncommon to see the queue out the door, particularly near the end of the week and over the weekend. There are quite a lot of places around that area to visit and stay. Maidenwell is a great place to stay at and the people are really friendly. Nearby (relatively) Blackbutt is another town well known for it's bakery but also be prepared for a queue out the door if you do go that way.

Loved all the grass trees getting to the waterhole/billabong. It looked serene too but I’d agree with Kerrie look / picnic/visit but no swimming 🏊♂️

Have you ever stayed at Benaraby free camp near Gladstone? Great stopover we had a concrete slab, dump point and coffee van.
