Great tips, have been following since day 1 also love the brief overviews of the sites you stay at. We have a Jayco 25-1 on order & hopefully be full time on the road mid 2025 after a few shakedowns and servicing learning from your experiences. Keep it going, helps us a lot, take care Nigel & Sandie 👍
Thanks so much for the message, and we are pleased to be able to provide good tips to our fellow and soon to be fellow travelers. Best of luck with your MH when it arrives, you will love it.
Hi you both are my favourite's on RUclips you both are easy to watch and list to so down to earth, and once again you are so helpful with passing on knowledge and tips. Thankyou
The Command hooks usually fall off once they get hot. Up the middle? Woomera cool old missile test town campground cheap,Coober Pedy for sure, The Rock don’t forget your head fly nets to do the walk around the base, Alice Springs the bird park and transport museum, Daly Waters Pub see Tim! Barkley Road House good feed awesome folks and Mt Isa mine tour. Not sure where you’re heading but they were high lites on our trip.
Thanks so much for the recommendations. We will definitely stop at Coober Pedy and i have looked at a stop at the campground at Woomera, see what happens there. Yep i think the hooks will probably fall off and we will do the more permanent screws for the curtain. Cheers.
Similar planning strategy in the US. Destination locations booked far in advance as possible, then "wing it" for more spontaneous trips. From yours and others videos, it seems there you have much greater availability of smaller campgrounds and roadside parks to take advantage of. Great coincidence with the LP tank sensors - I've got a Mopeka set ready to install on mine. I do have two tanks and the auto switching gas valve, but like to take care of filling tanks when at home vs finding a dealer and wasting time with that during a trip. Another suggestion for your curtain: industrial strength velcro or 3M dual lock tapes. Still may be somewhat vulnerable to heat, but I've had good luck with the stuff securing things in the cab of my semi trucks.
Thanks for the tips, great ideas. We are very lucky here in Australia to have such a wide variety of camp sites, all quite different. We have what we call caravan parks, then fee camping, in lovely spots in country towns, by rivers etc. We have National Park camping, Hipcamp which i mentioned is on people's properties usually, showgrounds and behind pubs where they allow camping.
As above we also use similar curtain to separate the cabin from the rear(can cut down some noise as well) curtain is split in two down the middle we hold it up with a curtain rod and curtain hooks but unfortunately you will have to screw those in,been up for 5yrs ,also good to close them at night can keep a little of the cold out as well 👍🤠👌
What about one of those extension curtain poles? Do you think they would hold up to bumps? You’ll love Flinders and central Australia ❤Def stay a day or so at Coober Pedy-interesting place. Kings Canyon worth a trip too but we found the road in was undulating so not sure how towing the car would go🤔
Thanks so much for that information, we were planning on going up to Kings Canyon for a few days after Uluru. By undulating, do you mean corrugations, and more appropriate for a four-wheel drive?
No corrugations, it’s a proper bitumen road and well sealed but the road dips down and up and down. You won’t need a 4WD car at all.I was just thinking about towing the car. Just probably need to take it slow but I would think it’s probably ok. Perhaps check when you book what they think. The camp site is amazing. The roads everywhere will be well managed with your Swift✔️
Hi,just another tip, with two gas bottles installed we add a automatic change over exchanger good for free camping don't have to get up at night to change bottles, worth a look (need a gas fitter for that though)👌🤠👍
Hi Guys, love your channel and binged watched since I come across your videos. I’m finding it very insightful and thank you!!! One question please, I have noted that in the smaller RV you had something hanging between the driving cabin and the living area. What is the reason for that? Thanks
Hi, glad your enjoying our videos, thanks for the message. The hanging scarf in the smaller RV was in lieu of a curtain. We only just put a proper curtain up in the bigger motorhome. It helps with the air conditioner being more efficient in the cab when driving, as well as when you have the air con on in the RV.
We are getting our first RV end of April…. Watching your videos and taking notes of your experience has been so rewarding!! We can’t wait to experience this ourselves!! Thanks again!
Hi, we dont have a generator or inverter. When off grid we use the gas cooking in the van, we have a four burner gas cooktop and grill. We are able to charge all of our devices by the 12v, apart from the lap top. The TV is 12v, we have a 12v fan, so pretty good for off grid.
Hi Guys, about flat towing…, how are you going to tell when the Suzuki needs a service? For example if your next trip is a 2,000 klm return trip (towing) and suppose you drive the Suzuki another 200 klm for sightseeing etc, you will put 2,200klm on the Suzuki odometer. The Suzuki engine has only run 200klms. Plus say your trip later in the year; Home-Adel-Uluṟu-Mt Isa-home is a 7,000 klm return trip yet you only drive the Suzuki 500 klms. These scenarios has the Suzuki mileage at the end of the year at 9,900 yet the car has only worked for 700klms (Not anywhere near due for service). Only the wheel bearings etc and odometer have been working. Suppose the Suzuki needs a service every 10,000 klm how will you track that? Also, what is your thinking around resale in a few years time. With mileage climbing up to say… 200,000 (but only driven say 50,000) you will lose a lot of value. I am in this scenario too and interested in what your thoughts are? Cheers Denis 🤠.
I should have said that we love your work and we started watching your work as we began our journey into a motorhome just recently. Your experiences and tips are helpful, thank you. If you are ever over Adelaide way you’re welcome to stay (park MH) at our home. Also, it sounds like we might be on the Adel-Darwin-Mt Isa track around the time you are planning, so let us know just in case we can coordinate a meet-up somewhere 😊.
Hi Denis, sorry for the late reply, we are in Narooma and not much service where we are. Great question regarding the service of the Suzuki. I think we will talk to our Suzuki service centre and see what they think. Maybe a service just on the wheels, bearings etc in between the regular service might be the way to go.
Hope your enjoying your motorhome. We are probably only going up as far as Uluru and turning around and coming back down - will be there (Uluru) mid May. We are meeting friends in the Flinders Rangers, then traveling on without them up to Uluru. Let us know if your heading that way around that time.

Very informative. Thanks for the tips. Maybe we’ll cross paths one day on the road 😊
Glad we can offer some useful tips to fellow travelers. Cheers.
Can’t wait to see more of your travels ❤. Pls show pics of food you make along the way
Will do, thank you.

We are loving the addition of our proper curtain, so far so good. It cuts out a lot of light that was coming through from the front windows.

no problem, i will try and add some more info to the description in the video.

good tip, thanks.

What appliances do you use off grid? Are you running a generator at all

Hi guys, enjoying the videos but your introduction is way too long, many don't even have an intro as have to fast forward to get to the video ❤
Thanks for the feedback, Brian is always thinking of ways to improve.
