    Not sure if you have done this but I’ve just added bonnet struts to my Sprinter. Bought them on line for not much money, 30 minutes to fit and remove the manual strut and they work a treat. No more lifting the heavy bonnet with one hand and setting the strut with the other.

    We almost bought a Jayco despite some of the bad reports about them but due to a bit of bad/good luck couldn’t go and seal the deal. We are very glad we didn’t because we ended up buying a Merc powered Regal Jewel. There has been minimal issues and being a small company personal service and responding to questions immediately has been excellent.

      Hi, glad to hear you made the right choice for you and that you have had great after sales service, that is so important. Plenty of companies selling loads of caravans and motorhomes and the after-sale service can slip. We have had pretty good experiences overall, a few exceptions but i guess that's across the board. I will have to look up your motorhome, i have not heard of them.

    Hi guys, my husband and I are loving your videos and are hoping to get on the road in the future. My husband does not want to tow a caravan. Have you found many disadvantages with the motor home? Thank you for the entertainment 😊

      Hi, thanks for the message. We love the motorhome, but also can't compare it to towing a caravan as we have never done that. There will be differences in the places you can go, a bit restricted with the motorhome. For example, we went for a drive just today out to the country and wanted to see if we could stay at a beautiful camp site about ten kilometers in on a dirt road. The dirt road was also up over some hills and there is no way we would take the motorhome on it. If you had a 4wd and all terrain caravan, it would be no problem. We decided to tow the car so we can go into some spots that the motorhome wont go. Hope that helps, good luck with your search and thanks for watching our videos. 😊

    Hello you guys. Thanks so much for making your videos. As a motorhomer my self with limited experience I was wondering just how much you used the Swifty. Was it worth the effort to tow it around? We have elec bikes for short hops and a bit of shopping but have honestly only used them a couple of times ever. We have 8 meter mh and find we can usually get around in it ok parking etc. But toying with idea of a tow vehicle. What is your opinion ?

    • @headsortailsmotorhometravels77
      @headsortailsmotorhometravels77 21 день назад

      Hi there, thanks for the message. We absolutely love towing the car. It was a very good investment for us. We used the car every day in our trip down south, we were able to explore all the beaches, national parks with dirt roads that the motorhome would not have gone on. In our trip to Uluru, we drove every day into the national park, 50ks return to the Olgas in the car. It would have been a pain to pack up the motorhome every day and drive in, although you can obviously do that. We tossed up getting E bikes as well but also thought they would not be great for long trips and shopping etc. In our opinion, towing the car is great for us and it was worth the expense. We needed a car anyway when we moved back into our house as we had sold both our other cars when we moved out. So it worked well to buy a car that we could tow. Hope that helps.

We realised pretty soon after going on the road full time that the first little motorhome was not going to be big enough for us to live in full time. The 20-5 was a great motorhome for short trips away, probably good for a few weeks but not for full time living for us. As it worked out, we came home early, but are still pleased we made the decision to get the bigger one.

    This is exactly why I would be very reluctant to rent my house out. If I did I would certainly put in place your suggestions. Thankyou

    Loved your video guys, maybe come up to the New England region, not too far away and highly recommend Uralla township. Great showground for powered sites. Very interesting town full of history and quirky shops. Great cafes. Lots of waterfalls in the Armidale/Wacha regions too.

      Hi there, thanks for the tip, we love the Armidale area so will definitely travel back to that area and look at staying in Uralla. It will be good to go back with the tow car as we had the little motorhome when we stayed at Armidale and tried to drive out to a waterfall. We had to turn back due to 18ks of dirt road, lol.

    Great video, and a nice insight to the area..the free camp on the river looked fabulous. If you could do a video on PubCamps that would be great in your upcoming stories.. Also, Brooms Head Holiday Park is a lovely spot if you're heading up to the GC. Happy home camping! 😊

      Hi, thanks for the comment, we would love to do an episode on pub camps and are already talking about it, thanks for the suggestion. We have actually stayed at Brooms Head holiday park in our first little motorhome. Its in one of our early videos, we loved it. Will definitely go back there. Cheers.

      The tyre extensions are great, we did have one that was leaking a bit, our tyre place put it back on a different angle and seems to be ok now. Fingers crossed. The peppermint spray seems to work well.
