    Have the same Predator a frame for about 18 months for our Jimny , not cheap , but the best thing we ever bought . Towed from Noosa to Cairns and back never missed a beat . Keep it all well greased , follow the simple service instructions and it will serve you forever 👍🏻👍🏻

    Another hugely helpful video. Will look forward to seeing your videos with the Swift in tow to see how you find travelling with it. We are looking to get a Motorhome in the near future and are thinking of an A frame set up once we are used to the Motorhome. These types of informational videos are really appreciated (and they do help remove some of the worry and anxiety with these things)

    Hi Brian & Kerrie, great to see your little Swift tagging along behind, we have an identical set up, love being able to leave the motorhome ( especially in Melbourne) to see our daughters in our Swift. Two recommendations, keep your air vents closed as they cop some diesel fumes inside, being so close & keep in mind you can't go in reverse, so planning your arrival is so important. Enjoy your

      Agree on the fumes and think seriously about ppf and windscreen protection or you will break your own windscreen and sand blast your car.

    I notice you didn't have a break warning cable as I do and was deemed as critical, having said I don't see any purpose to have the cable attached. It was applied when I used the Brute system. ?. Shit I haven't serviced my tow system.

  • @sodiscreet1
    @sodiscreet1 5 месяцев назад

    I think you may need to contact your installer for clarification but I noticed when crossing his cables he puts them under the frame. Pretty sure the idea is if the car separates from the van It then forms a cradle to support everything above it from digging into the road. I see you crossed those cables above the frame. It’s worth making the phone call to protect your investment and give you peace of mind. Let’s hope you read this.

      Thanks for the message, we have realised that the cables go underneath. We were looking at the video's and trying to remember how to do it all. We now place them underneath. Thanks again, cheers.

    Question. Have you noticed any brake issues when towing? Can brakes be upgraded if that is needed? Assume the suzi is auto. Is manual just in neutral ? I imagine you turn wide when towing abd avoid dips and driveways and turning near a fuel bowser!! And no more tight turns. I drove a 38' in alaska...

    • @headsortailsmotorhometravels77
      @headsortailsmotorhometravels77  4 месяца назад +2

      Hi, the Suzuki is a manual. We put the car into neutral, hand brake off and then key into accessory mode. We tend to go a little wider around corners, but not really all that necessary. The car just follows the motorhome and all seems to work well. We have not noticed any brake issues when towing. Perhaps over time we may need to look at that, not sure as its only early days for us with towing the car.

    Any effect on speed? Do you need to drive slower eg a 110 freeway?

    • @headsortailsmotorhometravels77
      @headsortailsmotorhometravels77  4 месяца назад

      We take it a bit easier on the freeway, tend to stick to 100ks if we can. We just drive to the conditions.

      The way it looks its not working the cable has too much slack to be able to operate the towed vehicles brakes when stopping the Merc How could the dealer or engineer miss this ????

    Hi Brian & Kerrie is the braking system an override system or an electric system, also is that a previously owned Suzuki or did you buy that as well?

    • @headsortailsmotorhometravels77
      @headsortailsmotorhometravels77  9 месяцев назад

      Hi, the brake system is a cable override system. We purchased the Suzuki new with a view to setting up the flat tow system. There was a list of cars that we could tow so we opted for the little swift.

    Hi guys great little video. Just wondering if you had to add the car to your motorhome insurance??? Does the motorhome need to be engineered or is just the car ?? The drop down bit you had to add that was all in the final price you showed at the end ??
    The wife and l are just about to go through this whole process we have the 25-1 2021 fiat conquest. Great videos and some great info keep them coming.
    Cheers

      Hi guys, all good questions, we dont think we need to add the car to the MH insurance but will be checking tomorrow, lol. Only the car needs to be engineered, the MH just needs a tow bar which we had installed in the build. The total price included the drop receiver, so without that, take off about $460. Good luck with your install and have lots of fun on your travels.

      Spot on, no reversing with the tow car. If we get stuck somewhere, we have to unhook it all. Hopefully that wont happen. lol. Thanks for watching.
