The drummer is so rock but also like an eccentric high school biology teacher
ahahahaha omg, im dying.
That’s so on point lmfao.
That's @sarahdrums! www.youtube.com/@SarahDrums
That’s Sarah Thawer, I think!
@PRATERVXEX it is Sarah Thawer. Incredible drummer she is
Let's give a huge thumbs up for that drummer. 👍👍👍
Doing all the work and getting none of the glory.
Is she their mom?
simon nomis 😂 they’re 15 years older than she is
Alanaut sarathedrumguru on IG she’s awesome
That would be Toronto's Sarah Thawar - goes by @SarahTDrumGuru on Twitter. Fully agree she's awesome!
The drummer is Sarah Thawer, and she killed it!! 🤘🏼
I had the honor of her backing me up at a show just a few days before she went on Colbert! So proud :)
I was just gonna say, I wish they had presented the drummer, she seems pretty kewl.
Their pop albums are great but it’s nice to see them get back to their roots. So Jealous and The Con are two of the best albums ever
Yeah, this is my favorite album since the con. I just couldn't get into their pop music. There's only 2-3 songs post the con era that I listen to.
You can still hear the pop sound on the record. It's not super heavy, but it's their and I really appreciate it. I loved the sound they crafted on their pop records.
Agreed.
@IronChefWong I agree! Unfortunately Sainthood is pretty underrated. It tends to get looked over since it's in the gap between "The Con" and "Heartthrob" which are 2 of the most memorable T/S albums for reasons of their own. Personally Sainthood is my favorite album
I was kind of disappointed because, although I love the songs, sonically it still feels like they're doing the hyper polished pop stuff like the last two albums.
my answer to when people ask who my favorite band is
You tell them, "I'll Be Back Someday"? That's a weird response. Haha.
you might wanna change your display picture. i literally just found out about the sing of lostprophets... and it ain't good. google it at your own rick
@@emitremmus1004 thanks morty
@@captionhere19 lol, yup! no, worries. thank god you were here to reply. look, slick... it gave me anxiety, alright. no need to be a dick.
Two guitars, the hat, that drummer. Perfection
That drummer is really into it! She's lovin' every minute of performing!
The drummer's killin' it 🤘🏼
I'm honestly never going to tire of seeing them live ❤
Their live show banter is top notch!
I feel like I’ve heard this song in a movie in the early 2000s
90's vibes all over the place. I found Tegan + Sara at a Gap Store. Thank you Gap.
Wow. Love the grunge vibes, and the simplicity of it, brought me back to their good stuff like 2008 and before. Their drummer killed it too!
I'd say it's more pop punk vibes than grunge.
That was fantastic and the drummer was rocking out, too, I definitely need to toss that album on my iPod.
Wish Stephen had shaken the drummer's hand.. she sooooo deserved some love....
It's fun seeing them play electric guitar again
This is very "The Con" - love it.
This would fit in on the Empire Records soundtrack, great flashback
These sisters are talented and smart artists. Have always loved them and surprised to learn twins don't automatically like each other 🎶🎤🎶💖💜💗
Sakinah Abdussamad listen to/read their book its soooo good
I know nothing about twins so I was actually kinda surprised that Tegan and Sara each had distinctive singing voices. Sara's voice is higher and more melodious while Tegan's voice sounds very grounded and think I can really hear a Canadian accent.
I like them. They're cool.
Tegan has always had a more affected singing pronunciation. In their very earliest days it had shades of Ani DiFranco and at times has a Billy Joe Armstrong edge. But by their third album she found her own unique one which you're hearing here. She kinda pushes her vowels to the back of her throat, making them wider and more open. Very distinctive. Has nothing to do with her speaking accent though.

interesting
I'm not really that familiar with her influences so I can't exactly attest to any similarities but I do stand by the fact that it's interesting that they both have such different singing voices.
Wow... this is a power trio
They're unbelievable dude. I wish I could see them live. Based off of the performances I've seen their shows are lit af. Also Sara
Wayhaught, I see. 👀
Drummer is getting a lot of love in the comments
Just don’t lose that drummer.
Her “having fun, don’t care”, recklessly imperfect symbol work is what gives you “That sound”.
Super sharp drumming. Wow.
SAAARAAAHHH THAAAAAWERRRRR💥🥁💥
The flashback feels growing up listening to tegan and sarah ahhhh
Lol the drummer is having such a good time :D
I love how the drummer has her drums set flat ~ the correct way.
I'll just say, haters gonna hate. If you don't like them it's okay, go back to your music and be happy :)
I really love them and I enjoy watching them and listening to their music, the old and the new one ❤
Hay las adoro
Such an amazing band.
Incredible performers! Always!
That drummer was GITTIN IIITTT!!!!!!
Love T&S, reading their book
Hell yeah Sarah on the drums!!! Killer performance 🤘🏼🥁
Wooooooooooaaaaaauuuu!!! 😊
Fuck yesss, the new album is amazing
❤️❤️❤️
I recognize the drummer from Drumeo's channel. She's rad!
ERM OMG IT SOUNDS SO GOOD
Oh. My. God.
So good!
I'M SO PROUD OF THESE TWO! ♥
.......and on drums Blossom!
I'm already in love with this song 💕
Tegan and Sarah (and Sarah)
Nice one ladies
Me encannnnntan
Shout out to the props department for turning all the marshal amps on. Small details that are important.
Drummer is really good.
who's playing bass?
The next no doubt
Canada rocks, most Americans love you. Please don’t judge the majority of Americans because of Trumps 🦇💩🤪 demeanor. Thank you so much 😊
I'm so proud of them!!!
My comment is, I watched them because the were on The Late Show, and they were good.... There are many musicians around the world that are more creative, but they have good things to say and so I’m glad I watched... I’m so glad so many people really like these two very nice young ladies, just not my style. 👌🏼😀
girlpower
They need a bass.
OBSESSED
🤘❤️🤘
🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹
🥁What's with the drummer? Is she making funny faces intentionally, or is she John Mayer-ing? 🤔
She like one of the best female drummers out there. Plus it just something drummers do.
@@kfizz Right on!
I mean, sure, it's an excellent song, but how about that hat?
striatic cheap trick nod i am thinkin
striatic I know right! It suits her so much
That's when they creeped out Stephen...
Drummer looks like a comedy act.
Juanita Vernik but sounded awesome
Why ol girl dressed Mario from the super Mario bros movie?
bluhhh
do they sound better in the studio or something?
"Eesh. There are songs I love by these two, but this is not one of them. I guess it's from when they were younger. It's a bit too repetitive.
Well Stephen explained in their interview that those songs were written when they were kids, so yes.
i love them but deep down it sounds really bland. not that my opinion matters.
Look, I'm always going to love them. Fifteen years of having their records imprinted in my soul doesn't disappear quickly but... that wasn't great. I'm all for artists taking risks and doing something different but instead of evolving they've devolving, record by record. It's all become so staged and stylised to the point of being tacky. I can understand not wanting to be the indie darlings forever but is this really the alternative?
Couldn’t reach “meh” with a big ladder
why...
Oy. I love Stephen but I get tired of these videos where the "live performances" are not really live. Watch from 1:10 to 1:45 - there's a keyboard part in the background that was clearly not played live. Watch from 2:00 to 2:20 - first, the one on the left (sorry, don't know which one is Tegan and which one is Sara) stops playing earlier than the one on the right, but we don't hear her guitar drop out. Then after the guitars are out, we magically hear some kind of keyboard part in the background while they are singing. It's kind of fake and manipulative. But hey that's show business.
jesus, add some bass. it sounds fucking empty and hollow....
I love this band but this did not sound good.
Not live. C'mon.
oh my, how did these cat howlers get on stage??/
they Cannot sing a note...terrible
😴😴😴😴😴
Drummer is awesome. Tegan and Sara are delightful in interviews, but their music is kinda blah and their voices are disappointingly ordinary.
I'll never understand bands that don't know how to utilize two guitars.
there's nothing musical about two guitars playing power chords in parallel movement.
Everything sounds so boring after 'Television's 'Marquee Moon'
This is a song from their very earliest days revisited. They definitely know how to utilize two guitars. Listen to any guitar song from The Con (some are piano songs). A lot of that album is based around multiple interlocking leads, it's practically baroque.
I always found kind of rude when people name their bands by their own name and there's more people playing in it, but it's specially ugly in a case like this where the titular sisters stand there transposing a single barre chord around the fretboard in the most amateur display of guitar playing ever recorded while the unsong hero playing the drums do all the heavy lifting in the back. If they where the shit and had some hired musicians backing them up to fill in it's not that bad, but here it almost completely the other way around.
Miguel Martínez dude fuck off!!! They realize they are not the only ones responsible for the sound and appreciate the drummer. Who is badass!!! Thats what crediting is for! Which they do! You obviously don’t know Tegan and Sara very well who are no amateurs to guitar. This song was written when they were in high schools anyways idk why I’m explaining...Bitches don’t deserve an explanation
Over the years they have had lots of different band members who have came and went but It began with just them and will probably end with just them. Their band is them.
They didn’t really get a choice in their band name.
They first started playing under the name “plunk”. But they stopped performing under that name. When they were trying to decide a new name, their mother suggested Sara and Tegan. They thought it was a boring name, but they needed a name for their band to release their demo tape, so Tegan and Sara stuck.
So where is the rest of this band? Like the bass player? Or the keyboarder?
Oh, it's playback? 🙄
None of your Business they have a full touring band, and play all those parts live. This is only a set up for this performance.
Now that's what I call mediocre
Like them but gosh did they just let one of there friends drum or pluck her from the street
Worst band name ever.
Their first band name was “Plunk”. But then they stopped playing as that name. They were trying to come up with a new name, their mother suggested Sara and Tegan, they didn’t like the name, they thought it was too boring, but they needed a band name to go under for their demo tape. So Tegan and Sara stuck.
It’s a duo name, not band. And it’s an awesome two sister’s name.
@@superstarquins that sucks. Even Plunk was better.
@@saraken9718 a duo is a band. The name still sucks.
The drummer was kickin it, 🤘💚💨👍
she was having the best time and it made me so happyyyy!!
I think she's Sarah Thawer.
Sarah Thawer is ammmmmazing! She's also extremely kind and great to work with :)
Yup - Sarah Thawar - goes by @SarahTDrumGuru on Twitter. Fully agree she's awesome!
I'm so glad other folks showed love for their drummer and appreciated her 'cause she's KILLING it. Love Tegan & Sara so much.
So wild to see Sara on guitar again!!!! They're sounding amazing!!!!
Dave Grohl's younger sister on the drums......🤘
Is that true?
@@EshUlmer2112 it's Sarah Thawer - not sure if she's his sister though! www.sarahthawer.com/bio
@@EshUlmer2112 lol no, that's www.youtube.com/@SarahDrums
I love them and have loved them for over 10 years
Me too. :)
Really loving those guitars :) awesome! They all killed it
just came here to see sarah thawer on the drums. she is just so into it all the time. love it!
Where is the bass player? Must be invisible...
Damn, that's a lot of Marshalls; Nigel would be jealous. (;-)
But do they go up to eleven?
I love how many people are all about the drummer. The song is amazing, the performance is great. The drummer though!
so good to see them back in their guitars
Drummer reminds me of Dana Carvey playing Garth Algar
Drummer vibes were killin it
LOVE IT the new album is so good
Love them and this song
Tegan & Sara AND "Degrassi High The Band"
