A couple of cool things about this song.. Eminem wrote this song to challenge himself, he kept the same rhyme scheme throughout the whole song as rhymes the vowel sounds of “eye”, “aw”, and “in”. Also if you notice in the first 2 verses his voice is a little bit muffled but by the 3rd verse you can hear him clearly, this is to give the effect like he was outspoken by everyone and afraid to say anything until he gained his confidence. Also he is trying to help the listener understand that in those first two verses he is talking about the past and in the third verse, his voice can be heard clearly, indicating that he is talking about the present.🙇🏽♂🐐🔥✨💯(Btw the singer’s name on the Hook is “Polina Goudieva” she’s a Russian singer has a unique beautiful voice folks always seem to shit on Eminem’s Hooks but in reality this Hook is fucking incredible! Like most of his hooks especially off this album)

Eminem has helped me through so much. I was bullied throughout childhood and grew up without a father who let me know he wanted nothing to do with me. Eminem has that aggressive sound and is able to articulate the feelings of despair so well. He will always be one of my favorites. Thank you for the great reaction larryshair.
"music is therapy" is a saying that's been around for a long time. Music is more than just therapy for us, it's therapy for the artist too. Great reaction as always. If you want a great Eminem song to follow this up with Guys over fear fits that bill I feel like.
This song is off the Marshall Mathers LP 2 from 2013, the same album Rap God is in. Such an underrated powerful song in his already full catalogue arsenal. You can just feel his confidence building in each verse until he reminds us he is the genius no one thought he could be. Always go back to this song when I'm feeling down, not good enough, or just think I'm weird. I relate to what he says about random thoughts all over the place and obsessing. A Tribe Called Quest is a 90's hip-hop group and are considered very influential. He was giving his roses to Phife Dawg, who passed away some years ago.
Ever Inspiring Grand Master Marshall, this song made me look back in life how i've grown up, and be proud of the good decisions i've made but what mattered more is that i learn for the million more bad decisions i've made. I can't call him my role model because I can never see myself even at his feet, but he casts the light in a cave network that makes the scary confusing winding path making me more confident to push forward as i gain more clarity of self and surroundings. On my bucket list i have #3 Shake hands with Eminem and thank him face to face for helping me through life, in good times and especially bad times.
This is one of my absolute all time favorite songs!! The writing. The storytelling. The rhyme scheme. The transformation from the first verse to the third. The literal shy kid with basic rhymes trying to find himself and then in the 3rd all the doubles, alliteration, similies, schemes. And the 🔥 he brought with that delivery. It's just a masterpieces by a creative genius. Love the reaction ❤
Em's music has been with me literally my whole life. I don't know what I would have done without him honestly. Helped my confidence so much when I was just a kid lost at school.
Eminem says all the nasty fighting words I'm thinking about sometimes. So I picture myself as him and just enjoy it. He is also funny as hell, gotta have a sense of humor! ✌& ❤
Making it through the worst & most pain makes the strongest people. No one changes or evolves without pain in their lives: look at the best way to discipline children, not always physical but whatever causes the individual child the most discomfort to make sure they don’t do whatever it was again (one of my brothers thought standing in the corner was his own personal hell and his toys being taken away when he was a little older). Everyone wants their children to have easier, better lives but it’s a catch-22: without the struggle and pain they won’t be ABLE to appreciate it being better and will, in general, be more shallow through no fault of their own. The key is SURVIVING the struggles and pain in your path long enough to evolve and the pain threshold becomes so high it’s nearly impossible to be hurt unless you allow it at that point.
Probably one of my favorite songs from Eminem. I've struggled so much in my childhood from being and feeling different that this song resonated so deeply with me I listened to it every morning going to high school for 4 years. Every single morning... you could say around 1200 days I listened to it every morning. Just incredible and relatable.
Loved your reaction. I relate to this song a lot. Used to be bullied just for being shy. Just saw my dad like every 4 months so I had to grow up learning about life by myself. Every time I hear this song I really think that the vocals on the first verse are buried in the beat with a sound effect to make em barely hearable, then the vocals on the second verse is a bit more clear and his voice is a bit angrier and steady and then in the final verse vocals are loud and clear and he is full of confidence in his voice, angry and hungry to conquer the world. I really think he made that with the vocals to symbolise how from shy he goes to yelling confidently and stating his self in the world
What a great reaction! You’re helping me catch on to things I never noticed!! I love ‘Em so much, he has helped me through some tough times, without a doubt. His raw emotion is unmatched. Sometimes I take a long breaks from his music but when I need it, he’s always there. Right now, I am lost so I came back to him (like usual) that’s how I have come across these reaction videos. I’m not religious but I really like your take on things. It almost elevates his music even more for me. This song is sooo relatable, just knowing that he was/is that quiet guy that not a lot of people understand, is just comforting. I love how you said, he’s “ministering.” That’s a genius way to describe what this man does. My 1.5 year old daughter was diagnosed with a rare chronic illness and a brain tumor, I was on my way to a new career but I’m having a hard time concentrating and moving forward. Sometimes I feel like a loser, like I’m too different, I don’t have a traditional family, I started this career too late, I’m not good enough etc. Then I listen to a song like this and it gives me the strength to pull up my boot straps and continue on. ✌️❤️
When I was a youngster my dad passed away and I had a Eminem cd. Played it till it stopped working. I think in some way Eminem helped me be who I am today always thankful to him

I remember listening to this song back in High school when I was 15 years old. After school I would listening to hiphop songs including this one and I would just relate to this song so much. This song definitely gave me that little bit of confidence I needed while walking through the schoolyard with my earphones in.
Eminems life is what I relate to and unfortunately I feel that's everyone's life and lk Eminems life and my life is the same in soo many ways I had to be in therapy at 3 yrs old but I chose to do everything opposite then it worked. EM is one of the greatest, and my personal favourite, rags to riches stories in my lifetime. He has been challenged since the day he was brought into this world. Not only did he manage to escape his statistical destiny, he worked his way to become the best MC and proved to the world (but more-so himself) that he was more than a number and he was capable of anything. He certainly ran into many roadblocks along the way but always managed to side-step or crush whatever was in his path. I have nothing but the utmost respect for this man and his accomplishments. I also love the fact that he broke "the cycle" in his family. It's crazy to think of EM as a role model but his example is one that should be referenced when talking about what a person can be capable of if they are determined enough. Yes, I get it, EM is extremely gifted with his talents and not everyone is going to have a gift to that calibur... but even with his gift he has suffered some extreme trials and tribulations and beat those as well. Never stop trying and never give up!
Great reaction, loved it, one of my favorite songs, trust me when I say this, after you listen to like hundreds of his songs, this song is going to hit so much differently when you listen to it again.
I am just terribly nervous about an hour-long training I have to hold to around 40 strangers on Friday (not in my job description!) - it's not much, but all day yesterday when I thought of it, I felt like there was not enough oxygen in the air. But then I distracted myself with Eminem and was fine while I was focusing on the music :) ...uh-oh, now I really need to go back to not thinking about it again.
I was sexually molested from the time I was 5 years until I was 11 years. My big brother used to listen to Eminem and I grew up listening to him too as a result. Eminem gave me the courage to say, “The hell with this!” And I finally, after 7 years stood up to my abuser. Chester Bennington was my other major influence as well. Both he and Eminem saved me. If it weren’t for the songs and lyrics by these two men filling my heart and soul and lifting me up when I was sinking into a very dark place I don’t think I would have made it to see today. Actually, the best part, is that now I’m a therapist and help teens and youth that have endured or are enduring trauma and I help them to heal and get through it. None of this would have been possible if it weren’t for Eminem and Chester Bennington’s creativity and story telling to help boost me up and help me to keep fighting and holding on.
I haven’t listened to this song for a while, thank you for reacting to it. You help me to re-appreciate his lyrical genius from the first time I listen to his songs. Thank you 🙏👍👍👍
Great reaction this. Also, the effect many people miss is the verses starting very dull and blunt, the seconde verse he's a little clearer and finally in the last verse he is crystal clear. Shows his mental image of himself evolving!
God.. ugh. I write this in tears, felloe Chris. Check out NF - Hate Myself... Ive been wanting to reach out but that song pretty much explains why I haven't. I'm so.... I dont even know. Lost? Ugh. Thx for your time and channel as always. I can't even watch this right now bc I can't see that smile of yours. Heh
Eminem has helped me heal myself, by giving me a great way to pass the time and reflect on the problems I had, not dismiss them or run away from them but facing them head on. I am not from the US, but I get so irritated at all the people that didn't hear one song from this man trying to throw dirt in his legacy (pun intended lol) Thanks for the video Larry, as always your reactions are great because they are genuine and you really LISTEN, which is not as common as one would assume. Edit: you should hear this song by Eminem, Rhyme or reason, it's based on a much older song called "Time of the season" by the group the Zombies, which is all about love, this is a "parody" a song about hate for his father and a critique while making impecable rhymes, is amazing to see how can he flow and kill every type of beat, the link is:ruclips.net/video/TGlstKjXC_o/видео.html
I was going to leave a long story but i decided against it because its easier to just simply say that Eminem got me through my school days, his music helped me survive a place i despised being, if eminem never came along i could possibly be a very depressed, traumitised person right now because of kids at school just being horrible for no reason other than me being an easy target, but he came along and his defiant music inspired the heck out of me, next thing i no i am laughing in the faces of these kids and they got bored cuz i was showing no fear anymore, i would rap his lyrics around the streets and kids would stop me and ask me if i heard certain songs and we would talk about them, it was a great time, being a fan of eminem made you a cool kid, it was a nice side effect 😄 So yeah, eminem changed my life for the better and to this very day i use all of his life lessons, Shoutout to everybody who eminem has inspired through life 👍 Oh and while im here, if you would like to hear eminem SING, properly SING 95% of a song then listen to this track Eminem - Stronger than i was I think he might amaze you 🙂
The kid he talks about in the song who shoved him in the locker is named D’Angelo Bailey and the situation was much worse than shoving him in the locker. Eminem talks more about it in his song “brain damage” which D’Angelo tried suing him over

@@bobbyshores He did and always has that look of anger - just a statement of looks but when he had his first child - daughter in 2012, holding her and watching her - he was all smiles and so endearing - I guess it was just an observation of his constant disdained look and some of the lyrics. I was just commenting on don’t judge a book by it’s cover - really nothing to over-analyze. That silly Eminem with his baby was just an old mental image before this song came out.
Great reaction Larry!!! by far....you are one of the youtubers who pays more attention to the songs you listen to...you really do very well.....and it was beautiful see you in this journey and discovery of Eminem music....Personally, Eminem's music has helped me to be stronger and to think that everything is possible if you are constant...despite everything...I don't consider him an example but a person who deserves my respect. ....besides being a great artist.....
Eminem songs - in a nutshell - often seems to be the equivalent for famous proverb - "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". But this particular one has much more than that, because shows us also in other words - "never burn your bridges" - as well. Of course, regarding to the opposers or even villains from his past. Thus, perhaps it is true, that every single person we meet in life is due to some reason. Only we need to do, to not ruined that.
About the reference you were wondering about: Phife Dawg is a member of a legendary hip hop group called A Tribe Called Quest. Eminem frequently references rap icons that inspired him to be where he is today and this was just another example of him paying homage to the ones that came before him in rap.
I know you don't particularly like country (neither do I in many cases), but have you heard Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails? Cash transcends genre in singing this song. The Nine Inch Nails songwriter said that Cash now owns the song. Reactors often breakdown hearing Cash's video. At the end of the video Cash closes the cover of the piano (probably the piano his mother taught him music and refused to sell)). It was Cash's last video.
The guy who shoved him in the locker sued him for using his name in a song lol, true story. deangelo bailey

Thanks so much for your comment. Give your kiddo a hug from me. So glad to know she has a good momma. Blessing my friend.
When I was a youngster my dad passed away and I had a Eminem cd. Played it till it stopped working. I think in some way Eminem helped me be who I am today always thankful to him
I love this song!
Dude heard this million times still get goosebumps
Pfffffttttttt....there's not enough room allotment for that kind of story here from my life. I hope many others will take you up on your offer though. You're doing a great job!!!
This song is just literally so good. It is about him being Asperger.
My lifes been pretty good tbh, but Em taught me empathy by sharing his experiences. You never know what others are going through, so try and help em smile
YES finally! Also my first shout-out, awesome :)
Great vid as usual! Would love to see you react to Joyner Lucas, "Ross Capicchioni"
Great song, Great video, true story!
Love from Norway
Yeah, a bit younger, 9 years since album release. From Marshall Mathers LP 2 (were he went back to bleach blond), same album as Rap God, Bad Guy, The Monster (ft. Rihanna) and Headlights

Man I kind of forgot about this song...
Thank u for the reminder!
Em continues to give me little (and big) pushes thought my life and this song just did it again
I remember listening to this song back in High school when I was 15 years old. After school I would listening to hiphop songs including this one and I would just relate to this song so much. This song definitely gave me that little bit of confidence I needed while walking through the schoolyard with my earphones in.
I've been waiting for this one. Happy birthday to me. (Literally it's my birthday) Thanks Chris!
Em helped me a lot thanks to my cousin that showed me the goat ❤️
Eminems life is what I relate to and unfortunately I feel that's everyone's life and lk Eminems life and my life is the same in soo many ways I had to be in therapy at 3 yrs old but I chose to do everything opposite then it worked. I lived the foster kid with mother drug addiction then all of us be addicted and one of us is dead at 20 yrs old..but I don't think it was the worst cuz i see it as God is showing me what NOT TO BE ...BUT IT WAS NOT EASY but ive come our on the other side.and Ems music was a savor to my lil sis b4 she died.and my savor also he has helped me and I'm sure tons others..thx Em for being honest..
.

Legacy is an underrated masterpiece. I get goosebumps on the third verse especially
Yes Marshall Mathers is not only great but he is a true lyrical genius Rap God goat 50-year-old still killing it and is now inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame I believe it's November 17th not sure but it's around then apparently he will be performing Can't wait to see that thank God he got his flowers while we still have him congratulations goats Marshall Mathers Eminem Slim Shady B rabbit
LOVE YOUR WHOLE CHANNEL. ME AND MY SON LOVE EMINEM ❤️ REACTIONS..
Thanks Angie! Say Hi to your son!
Hope you see this, please do Dax-Dear Alcohol for me. Also Mini Thin-Breaking Down. They won’t disappoint you and many can relate to these songs.
Yes Chris! I absolutely love this track. It’s so inspirational! That 3rd verse is just epic! Love it!
Keep em coming ❤️❤️
You gotta react to 25 to life by Eminem
Great reaction as usual!
I really wish Em would be able to see your comment. I'm so sorry for what you had to go through when you were younger. Blessings to you my friend.
I haven’t listened to this song for a while, thank you for reacting to it. You help me to re-appreciate his lyrical genius from the first time I listen to his songs. Thank you 🙏👍👍👍
Looking very dashing tonight. Love your attitude and ☺ smile. Lol
lol, thanks Patti!

Run DMC - Christmas in Hollis!!
One of the best and most classic Christmas rap songs 🎄⛄🎄⛄🎄
RUclips asked me to rate you for further recommendations. I gave 5 stars and said “very informative”. Keep up the good work.
Thanks so much Ryan!
I am not from the US, but I get so irritated at all the people that didn't hear one song from this man trying to throw dirt in his legacy (pun intended lol)
Thanks for the video Larry, as always your reactions are great because they are genuine and you really LISTEN, which is not as common as one would assume.
The female singer is russian born American singer Polina Gudieva. Beautiful voice indeed
I was going to leave a long story but i decided against it because its easier to just simply say that Eminem got me through my school days, his music helped me survive a place i despised being, if eminem never came along i could possibly be a very depressed, traumitised person right now because of kids at school just being horrible for no reason other than me being an easy target, but he came along and his defiant music inspired the heck out of me, next thing i no i am laughing in the faces of these kids and they got bored cuz i was showing no fear anymore, i would rap his lyrics around the streets and kids would stop me and ask me if i heard certain songs and we would talk about them, it was a great time, being a fan of eminem made you a cool kid, it was a nice side effect 😄
So yeah, eminem changed my life for the better and to this very day i use all of his life lessons,
Shoutout to everybody who eminem has inspired through life 👍
Oh and while im here, if you would like to hear eminem SING, properly SING 95% of a song then listen to this track
Eminem - Stronger than i was
I think he might amaze you 🙂
Excellent reaction! Love and blessings!
The kid he talks about in the song who shoved him in the locker is named D’Angelo Bailey and the situation was much worse than shoving him in the locker. Eminem talks more about it in his song “brain damage” which D’Angelo tried suing him over
I believe the chorus is Skyler Grey. She's amazing
I'm so happy u DONT HAVE covid this yr at the holidays god bless u Larry 💓💖💗 sending luv to ur son who got u to listen to Em and now u see how AMAZING he is and let's thanks ur son cuz if he had not asked u to review Eminem I'd never found u and u made me fall in love with him again cuz watching u as brought me soo much joy ..I and all I care about ive shared ur reviews to them and how ur reviews have CHANGED MY LIFE
Wow, thanks so very much. I really love seeing you pop in here as well!
Fantastic as always. Please keep them coming. It’s needed right now. This is the best legacy reaction I’ve seen. You really made me re feel the emotions again. Thank you
Thanks!
A master piece of a song.
One request is to finish the Kim saga: Love You More.
Whats more interesting about this song it he does the same exact rhyme scheme for the entire song
Idk if it’s Christmasy but Eminem does diss Mariah Carey on the warning 😂
Lol, everytime someone mentions onions with layers, I think of Shrek
LOVE THIS SONG MAN
been waitin for this one for months!!!
if you want a personal song from eminem again, react to eminem - fine line please.
Also, did you watch his induction into the R&R hall of fame!? So good!
Amazing legacy
! of my favourite Em songs. Glad you finally got to it. Keep up the good work. I love your content. ❤
really enjoy your channel, keep it up!
I remember him back when his daughter was young - so loving and caring - we are used to him being so angered and tough.
this song is from 2013. maybe I'm misinterpreting what you're saying
What?
@@NexGenHiphop20 lol. some people are just weird & talk out they azz.
Thank you sooooo much!!!!!
He keeps that up the entire song, its impressive rhyming
He makes the Martian reference in a few songs
You would love Fine Line, it's how he sees fame as a prison.
About the reference you were wondering about: Phife Dawg is a member of a legendary hip hop group called A Tribe Called Quest. Eminem frequently references rap icons that inspired him to be where he is today and this was just another example of him paying homage to the ones that came before him in rap.
💜💜💜
I love this channels energy keep it up!👍🏻😁🤩
I know you don't particularly like country (neither do I in many cases), but have you heard Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails? Cash transcends genre in singing this song. The Nine Inch Nails songwriter said that Cash now owns the song. Reactors often breakdown hearing Cash's video. At the end of the video Cash closes the cover of the piano (probably the piano his mother taught him music and refused to sell)). It was Cash's last video.
