@Jamie Bennett, I hear where you're coming from. I was working as a private duty nurse and suffered a stroke. When I got to the hospital and they did a MRI they found out that I had two previous strokes. Who knew? My right arm was paralyzed for two weeks. Spent one week in ICU and a week in rehab. This burns me SO much! This "mother" is disgusting. I've been battling an autoimmune disease for FORTY YEARS. I worked as much as I could for as long as I could, and I'm now totally disabled starting when I was 58. To look at me, you can see that I "don't feel well" but you cannot see what is going on inside my body, nor tell the level of pain I'm having. I have literally not had a single pain free day since December 31, 1980. I get nasty remarks when I say I'm disabled, my sister accuses me of faking. 99.99999999999% of people on disability would give almost anything to be "normal" again.
I hope you’re doing well today 🥺 I’m sorry that you have experienced dealing with insensitive people. No matter the situation insensitive people automatically turn me off, if you can’t relate then you don’t have a say and even if you can your experience is still different from everyone else’s. I totally believe this gentleman. I pray to good his journey in life is as pain & worry free as can be. As previous mentioned, the mom should bring the son to visit with dad while the memories can still be good for all. I’m not thrilled with the mom’s reaction to his health issue’s. Did she never care or live this man? How can someone be so heartless? Good luck to all. 🙏😢🥰
It’s not about the child support imo . I think it’s clear this was all about how he did her dirty after she helped him get the degree to be able to make a good living . He left her. It’s scummy and sadly happens all the time in relationships. On the other hand he has a debilitating condition now which no one deserves . My aunt died of complications of MS. MS doesn’t get better it’s a progressive disease . He is not going back to work so it is what it is in this case
@@missyrose2154 i agree with you up until saying it was scummy how he left her, we have no idea what the reason behind leaving was, and honestly the way she is acting, makes me think there was something going on behind closed doors that we dont have any knowledge of. The fact that she had the audacity to keep asking the judge if she could force him to go back to work and force him to do stuff, just shows her mindset on the whole situation, even when he has such a major disability. And he was probably getting this kind of attitude from his "mother", that doesn't seem very "motherly" to me.
This lady is nuts 😂. I am a disabled veteran and people look at me like crazy sitting at home try dealing with his situation or PTSD. We cannot work period.
Im not a vet but I also suffer from PTSD that has seriously hindered my working options. Thank you for your sacrifice and I hope you get the help you need
@ Jonathan montoute, I'm with you brother. I'm a disabled vet as well, injured in Afghanistan by 1 mortar round too many. Yeah, some people look at us like we're faking, or lazy bums, etc. Some days, and I'm sure you are the same, I can hardly get out of the bed and move around the house. Going to bed at night terrified me, but being in the dark didn't bother me. One counselor said it was because the Taliban only attacked my FB late at night. Add on top of that a TBI and all it's issues. I recieved a service dog thru the VA and she has helped a great deal!! Hang in there brother, you're not alone in this.........good luck.
I’m sorry you are suffering. I have special place in my heart for people who serve in the military. People think it’s just a job and you deal with it like that. That could be not further from the truth. It affects every aspect of their and their families lives, for the rest of their life. Thank you you for your service. On a different note I thought that if they had a child under 18 the child could receive a check. I had a friend who’s ex’s with got a check for all three of her children. After they spilt up.
Ptsd is some crazy stuff. I dont have any issues with telling my friends or family about what I went through in Iraq. But I dont tell friends or family what I go through now on a daily basis. I only talk to the VA therapist about that shit.

As someone with a disability, this hurts. It's getting to the point where I might not be able to work anymore and I'm dreading it. I love working, even on the bad days, the thought of not having a job scares me. And the thought that I might not be able to apply for disability because of my age or because of my disability scares me even more
Same here. I'm on SSI right now for severe mental health issues and chronic fibromyalga. It scares me at the fact of not working any time soon or in the worst-case scenario never. It's hard having illnesses that no one can see, so people have a hard time thinking we are disabled and don't believe us. It hurts so bad to hear someone say we are lying about our condition. We are really trying our best. I hope you are feeling better at this point, and I hope you can get back to work soon. Take care❤
1) your last remark is incredibly insensitive and ageist. Wait until you start getting older and see how you like being discussed by your age & looks. 2) Vonda is NOT a judge. She is a lawyer playing a judge. Also, everyone on this show is an actor (other than Vonda).
Well the way he was trying hold himself from moving around I'm sure he was nervous I think she verbally abused him during their marriage and made him watch their son during the marriage as well I think she's a terrible parent.
I also have MS and continued to work and it’s definitely extremely hard to get up and work every single day. Between the physical, mental and other symptoms involves a lot of obstacles.
If he sleeps until noon - God bless him. MS sucks your energy at a drop of a hat. You're fine one minute and fatigued the next. The disease can rapidly debilitate a person. My daughter has MS.
Uh anyone else think she was massively abusive to him? He was stuttering never once looked anyone in the eye, apologising for things he cant control, and the stuttering increased when speaking to his ex?
I watched a family member suffer with MS. They had to stop working in the blink of an eye. It happened that quick. Ssi, ssdi barely pays for bills, even then you might still end up homeless if you don't have a support system
One of the few things that SSI and Disability got right was to make government incomes untouchable. I'm glad that she's not able to take his paycheck because it's barely enough for you to live on and sometimes not even that much. Granted they did that because they didn't want THEIR money to be taken by others but it still works out the same. At least disabled people know that a person can't sue them or touch their money. They have it hard enough. The last thing they need to worry about is child support or being sued.
As someone who had to go through Disability... If he is faking and got through the process he should be an award winning actor. It's not something that they just give you... they basically deny anyone the first few times to make you get a lawyer.
I didn't need a lawyer. Lawyer's waste time filing appeals so they can get more $ (because they're not allowed to collect more than 6% of your total). Yes, unless you have cancer or had a massive stroke they do deny you. But I filed an appeal right away online and got approved within another month. (I need a hip replacement and I have degenerative disc disorder.)
Social Security is wages u have earned & ur child will receive a check on the 3rd of each month. SSI is income from the govt for ur disability for wages unearned & the child can get money from the state & SSI is on the 1st of the month. Also, no premiums are deducted from SSI but Social Security has to pay monthly premiums. Very different. Be humble towards those that cant.
1. Disability isn’t handed out freely. 2. Dad is never going to be released to work. I’m sure he wishes he was healthy enough to work, versus the ultimate outcome he is headed for.
You can clearly see he was struggling just to speak. I have a family member with MS and it can be down right debilitating. It’s disgusting that this woman can be so harsh. If it was her suffering with MS it would be a whole different story. Men can have MS also!!! I bet she would have played the sympathy card if she had it! He did not! He seems genuine, she seems to have no heart
Mom could actually receive a check from social security due to receiving disability. Here is clearly in a situation where he can’t do what he needs to do. Compassion is what she should show instead of complaining.
Right, can we make him pay more, how about he pay from his social security, can we garnish some of his disability. So there's zero way I can expoit him for more more more? Wdym he doesn't have to pay he's faking it. I hate people like this
My question is does she work, cause if she doesn't she can a job and push little buttons all day. I feel bad for him cause I bet he would work if he really could.
I had a friend with ms she worked for a few years until it got bad. She has been on disability for 17 years now and the disease fluctuates. It might get some better for a time and then it gets worse than before. This is degenerative and just gets worse as time goes on. It is also the type that on the outside there doesn’t seem like much is wrong but on the inside you’re all messed up. This is what makes a lot of people think ms is not a disability but doctors know the truth.
What upsets me most is she's not even trying to better herself she just wants more from him. He's sick with a disease that will progressively kill him then what is she going to do? Try to make him pay after he's dead?
He stutters with his disability......he said he can't focus at the screen to work, which is also a symptom of MS. He may be in a wheelchair, eventually, and someone may be cleaning and caring for him. I have a student with MS in my classroom at college. She has a notetaker because of her limited hand use and she is in a wheelchair.
So I binged watch a few dozen episodes And God damn this truly broke my heart I'm crying for this man You can hear he just wants to be a good dad and provider MS is so horrible it's often a death sentence For her to be so calice is just tragic I pray for you man that you get better and your son knows he has a good dad
As a person with multiple sclerosis, she sugarcoated saying hes lying about a disability, you can see his hands shaking and his speech is slurred. I agree with the judge and the ex wife should of been understand regardless if your knew information about his diagnosis. Idk im being personal cause she showed she just wanted money and dont care about anyone.
Did she really drag someone with MS to court for child support? The man can barely hold a piece of paper without shaking! She should allow the child spend as much time as possible with his dad, because it's truly downhill with MS.
Damn this was a great scenario. I have PTSD and while I look okay, I do have an employment disability. I do not have to worry about dealing with child support, but the information gathered from this is pure awesomeness. Thank you so much, Judge Vonda B.!!
Oh boy does this bring back memories. My late husband was a double amputee below the knee. She reminds me of my husband's ex-wife. Her comment was, "I don't care if he sits on the corner shaking his leg. Finally he was awarded his disability he paid one lump sum of $5,000. The kids said, "Look what Mom bought us." I said, "You mean Dad right?" "OH, yeah, "Look what Dad bought us. And let me tell you, the kids corrected their Mom really quick. Dad bought our new shoes, clothes, and school supplies.
This a sad situation. I wouldn't have even brought my child's father in that state. It's difficulty to raise a child, yes. But he has a condition thats beyond his control. She should be ashamed of herself.
The fact that it has taken her two years to say something about it shows to me that she is missing the money and wants it for something other than the child.
Hi Judge Vonda B! What an interesting way to show people the inner workings of family court. I think it is important for people to understand the process how the decision making.
My last manager has MS. Awesome manager. Thankfully his condition was a bit better. While working for him, I developed a condition with similar - though far less severe - symptoms. (The doctors did check me for sclerosis. So it is no picnic.) What the guy said about looking at screens is spot on. My condition created a tumor behind my right eye that almost had me blind before they got it under control. But staring at computer screens is still tough. (Obviously I still do so or I wouldn't be writing here. But one eye is squinted shut to do so.) Bad health sucks.

Joyce Wobbrock - Disability benefits to a minor child have nothing to do with income of the custodial parent. It is a benefit of the disability (soc sec) system, based on the number of points the disabled parent has in the system. It is completely separate from child support benefits.

I am 20 years old, I am filing for ptsd, bipolar 2 manic depression, generalized anxiety disorder, back problems, and hip impairment, I’m having my second hip surgery, and I’ve been in therapy and on meds since 15, hospitalized twice. I have a service dog. I had to have accommodations at work for my mental health issues, but with my hip problems it became too much. I’ve been out of work for a year, and I deal with my boyfriend’s family telling me I’m just lazy. They think I’m lying. Even when I tried to show them my medical records, my mri images, etc. they said “we don’t need to see it.” They refuse to believe I’m telling the truth and when I got an attorney who told me I had an extremely good case they said “they’ll just give anything to anyone.” This video warms my heart because it just showed me I’m not alone because his family makes me feel crazy sometimes.
My mom has had ms for nearly thirty years and she is fortunate to not have any severe symptoms and side effects from it but she told me that men tend to have the more severe symptoms which made me feel awful for this dad because he’s correct you can get worse within months of being diagnosed depending on the stage you’re in or what form. This mother is a horrible person talking down to him and telling the judge he’s faking and making excuses, just disgusting.

I personally went back and forth from SSI because they pay you absolutely garbage for not being able to work at all. Some of us just deal with it. Some of us work because we have to and we work through the pain. Shes lucky she's well enough to work
In the state of TX the child is entitled to benefits if one one the parents are on ss and/or disability. Not to mention the parent does not even have to be with you when you go to the ss office.
She knew about his disability for sure, and she made him go to court like" Hey you disabled! Lets make you pay more, cause ur lazy, and sit at home!" - Lady, get you shit together.
In New York, if a parent receives SSI/ disability, the child/children receives a check from Social Security. The amount depends on parent work history.
If it's SSDI than yes than can get $500 from the government. If it's SSI than no they can't receive anything. But the father has to be on the birth certificate.
She mad as hell about that 1000$ a month even though he clearly struggling with MS. She just needs to give it up you gotta support the child it is your child when one falls you gotta pick it up.
My wife has MS, MS is no joke and it can be very serious at times but with proper medication and treatment, it treats MS very well and 90% of people nowadays with MS live a long healthy normal life.
That woman making reference to her former spouse's inability to continue contributing to child support obligations when offered the opportunity to rufute his disability claim can not simply say to the court superior: I THINK HE'S LYING! Whether the claim one alleges against another is FACTUAL without evidence should not be taken as sufficient reason to resume payment restoration.
In my state idk how it's done in other states but in my state if a parent is on disability the state will send a portion of funds to the child or children it may not be much but it helps a little

When I got to the hospital and they did a MRI they found out that I had two previous strokes. Who knew? My right arm was paralyzed for two weeks. Spent one week in ICU and a week in rehab. I still have partial weakness on my right side. When I filed for Disability I was denied three times. I found an excellent Disability Lawyer and she won my case. You may want to find one also. It may take a while though for your case to be heard, but it will be worth it.🙏🙏

I empathize.
I hope you’re doing well today 🥺 I’m sorry that you have experienced dealing with insensitive people. No matter the situation insensitive people automatically turn me off, if you can’t relate then you don’t have a say and even if you can your experience is still different from everyone else’s. The people who have so much to say couldn’t even take 10 steps in the shoes of those they judge.
I've been disabled too, but now I'm ok thank God. People really don't understand how horrible and real it is.
Piss on those HATERS. And I wish you the best Sir
I about cut me arm off and I look good but the pain that I deal with everyday is unreal and I've gotten used to the medication ( Morphin) and you build up a resistance to it after 11 years. Please God 🙏 you will get bye a little better and I hope that you will have a lot of good days 😁
I totally believe this gentleman. I pray to good his journey in life is as pain & worry free as can be.

I'm with you brother.
Sir,first thank you for your service and I hope things get better for you.
Ptsd is some crazy stuff. I dont have any issues with telling my friends or family about what I went through in Iraq. But I dont tell friends or family what I go through now on a daily basis. I only talk to the VA therapist about that shit.

It's not a developmental disability. Neurological MS
@@megancollier1137 MS falls under the class of developmental disabilities
And more education about invisible disabilities, terminal illnesses, and chronic conditions. No one wants to become disabled. It's NOT fun!
Take care❤

Yes exactly! I'm disabled and if not for my family's support i would probably be homeless, malnourished, and unable to afford basic necessities
Being on disability doesn't give you the right to neglect your children
As someone who had to go through Disability...
If he is faking and got through the process he should be an award winning actor.

Hanging in there. U
I saw what MS did to my doctor and to the late Annette Funicello.
What upsets me most is she's not even trying to better herself she just wants more from him. He's sick with a disease that will progressively kill him then what is she going to do? Try to make him pay after he's dead?
My brother is suffering from MS, I know exactly what this guy is going through and how tough is it to deal with this condition
He stutters with his disability......he said he can't focus at the screen to work, which is also a symptom of MS. The fact is that no CHILD support can be given on SSI. listening to mom she was being a jerk.
It can't be required but SSDI will send the kids money and it is considered child support.
Disabled people on SSI are not fit to be parents
Did she really drag someone with MS to court for child support? The man can barely hold a piece of paper without shaking! She should allow the child spend as much time as possible with his dad, because it's truly downhill with MS.
Damn this was a great scenario. I have PTSD and while I look okay, I do have an employment disability. I do not have to worry about dealing with child support, but the information gathered from this is pure awesomeness. Thank you so much, Judge Vonda B.!!
Oh boy does this bring back memories. My late husband was a double amputee below the knee. She reminds me of my husband's ex-wife.
I think the child can receive benefits from social security if the father is disable.
The mother is receiving it for the child; this case was for an increase...
It depends on his type of benefit and how much the family max. If he receives SSI then the child can get nothing
She can all she needs to do is file for it.
If it's SSDI than yes than can get $500 from the government. If it's SSI than no they can't receive anything. But the father has to be on the birth certificate.
This actor is too good. Got me crying
