    Very nice video Tiffany. An advice to everyone. When applying for a job make sure that every single project in your portfolio has been copyrighted. It took me a little bit more than a year to find a job. I discovered later on though, after I reapplied for a job to an employer who rejected me in the past, that they had completely copied one of my projects and I was so pissed off because firstly they told me during my interview back then that my portfolio is OK and that I can get back to them after I have more experience because I have potentials in this field. As soon as I discovered that the copied my work I went to a lawyer but it was already late. So it took me almost 1.5 years to find a job in UX/UI and another year to realise that every project I make has to be copyrighted. So everyone be careful. It is very important to copyright every single project that you make.

      How do you copyright your projects? I thought that copyright was automatically assumed whenever anyone creates something original--or do you actually have to apply for it?

    I've watched so many videos on UX Design as a career move and also which bootcamps to choose from. I would love it if you did a review on General Assembly's part time UX course. This video gave me the serious motivation I needed to take a good look at my current job and consider the same exact course. There are so many bootcamps but GA part time course looks appealing because of the price and flexibility.

But as I think any certificate whatever it is google or like as you said general assembly they can just teach you all the basic and advanced knowledge. Next step its all depends on your portfolio how much it impress employer.

      Getting a job is - You are selling your idea / effort to a company. So Prepare for it by making some of those ideas in to your portfolio,
      Best practice - Create a Dummy Brand, and put all the ideas to that dummy brand and create wireframe, sketch, prototype and everything.
      Check with friends for reviews, Once you fells it's good to go, POst that on your portfolio.

    Hellooo! Loved this video, i have one question, i have mostly experience in research, and design thinking workshops although i’m not very skilled in visual Design, usually i make wireframes, user flows, propose functionalities, structure, information that the user might be missing. That then a visual designer turns into beautiful interface .
    Do i need to become an expert in visual Design to become UX Designer? Or is it ok to divide UX and UI Design?

    • @TiffanyBuiBasics
      @TiffanyBuiBasics  3 года назад +1

      Hi! Thanks for watching. I think it depends which company you’re applying to and what type of designer they’re looking for. Most companies I’ve seen look for a full stack designer that can do both, but there are some bigger companies that separate visual from UX research
