    Hello, a 22 year old girl looking for advice here. I made a bed of pallets. A much more basic design. Total 8 pallets (1layer 4pallets + second layer) and my issue with my bed is that it makes noises, like creaking. So i tried screwing the top layer to the bottom layer which made it better, but not gone completely. I also put some screws in the top layer pallets to the nail connection parts (hoping it would help? I have no idea if it does?) But I didn’t connect the pallets next to eachother together, should that help with the creacking? Also, when i screwed the pallets together i didnt have a topper matress. Now that i do it made the creaking worse. Is it caused by the extra weight? What should i do? Any advice, please?

    • @merlynpihelgas7773
      @merlynpihelgas7773 4 года назад +1

      I also havent sanded or coated the pallets with anything

    • @BraxenMcConnell
      @BraxenMcConnell  4 года назад +6

      You will probably get a little creaking either way, mine does a bit as well. But your best bet (IMO) to try and eliminate it is going to be screwing the pallets together, and maybe add some extra screws into top. It’s likely that the creaking is coming from the pressure points there the top wood connects with the middle supports, or where the middle supports connect to the base.

    • @BraxenMcConnell
      @BraxenMcConnell  3 года назад +1

      The pneumatic pistons keep the bed up while accessing the storage area, so I’ve never had to remove the mattress. That said, that’s just one idea I came up with. Doesn’t mean it’s the best or only option. A slide out sounds cool, but it might be a lot more work with putting the tracks on and everything. 👍🏼
