- Easy DIY Wooden Bed Frame Platform made from framing lumber.
In this 5 minute video im showing you how i made my DIY bed frame, all from framing lumber and pocket screws. You can follow my full step by step tutorial on my instructable, i have included several plans from my sketch up build.
www.instructab...
I bought all my material at my local hardware store, you can find the list on my instructable.
This king size bed platform is very solid, and the reason i used pocket screw is i can dissasemble it if i move.

▶️ Hey Guys! 👋 I have received several questions about where to find those angle corner clamps. You can find them here : amzn.to/3Ek14s5 ( Affiliate link )
Hi. What would you do if you wanted to make the bed higher off of the floor
Love it up
Combien ça coûterait les matériaux à peu près
why not juse use 4x skids for free and ad some fancy on the outside and save 90% of cost
This is incredibly sturdy compared to what is minimally required. Looks amazing
Why the hell would anyone dislike this video? It was great and gives another cool option to build a base for a bed. Nice job man.
It's the internet lol, if there was a video where the world would end when someone clicks the dislike button I assure you someone will press it 😂
Probably because it says 5 min DIY lol
There’s a lot of dumb ppl out there.
Those who can, do! Those who can’t, criticize!
@@FoxesAbove yes I disliked it because it says 5 mins, its kinda clickbait.
Cause they lazy and don’t know how to be creative so they hate
I need a new bed and the prices in the furniture stores are frightening plus the quality isn’t amazing. So, I’ll make my own. Thank you for your video and ideas.
Thank you for the video. I was going to buy something like this but now I think I'm going to build it. I work as a mechanic so I have basic hand skills and I own almost all of the tools you have so thanks for that man, I really appreciate it 😊
Awesome! 😁 Go for it! 👍
idk why im watching this, i can barely build ikea furniture, i think the quarantine has got to me 😪
lol
Me and u both😂😂😂😂
If you are inspired by this recording you have the skill to build it!! This is not an especially difficult design, and is an absolutely beautiful finish. You will love this so much more than asembling flat pack furniture (which happens to be something I do as a side business)
Lmfao
I bought an ikea king malm. About to put it together and was like make I can build one. After seeing this I'm back to I can barely put the ikea together
I didnt think I could build a shed but I did and it is awesome. I have never made furniture and this is going to be my first project!
Great work; you build with "overkill." That will become a family heirloom!
Looks great. You were in kreg jig heaven. I don’t know if I have the patience to make that many pocket holes 😂
Oh yea that's alot , took me about 2 hours to drill all these holes 😅
I would have had the slats sitting 2 inches lower into the frame so the mattress doesn't slide about, but very well made bed overall
Same! But still a great build overall!
I agree..great tip.
I’m doing this frame with a few modifications as this and the head board with 3 boards
Just built mine sat the 2/4 ledger 2inches below the top of the frame, bed sits in prefect.
I’m redoing my bed frame to something like this. Currently the mattress sits on a flat surface and I’ve never had a problem with the mattress sliding out. You must be more rambunctious in your bed! 😂
Why does it seem like everyone else home improvement store has GREAT lumber and MINE always has shitty lumber? LMAO
sailing in the same boat here
ikr the mcoys in the town next to me has over priced and badly handled lumber/ plyboard but if i drive a hour or two home depot sells better quality wood for cheaper the hell is this bs ??!
@@therubbermeep7456 So True!!!
I could make a bow out of all the lengths at my local store.
Yea...lol same
Dude! You have golden hands! Respect from Russia!
Thank you so much! 😃
7 years ago I built a kitchen table 3 ft wide 6 ft long out of 2x6 construction lumber. It turned out great and is just as sturdy today as it was the day I built it.
I did it with Woodglut.
Yes? No? Wut?
@@SEBTECHDIY I would recommend Woodglut to any beginner or professional like you 🤙🤙

Awesome bed frame. So far the best looking one here! And so simpler
U made me watch this saying 5 min ....but yeahh m glad I watched it... Nice work... Ur idea got me clicking another idea ...
Thanks..
Beautifully done! Your work speaks for itself!! You should sell them!! I'd buy one!!
They are sold, but the price is approximately 6,000-10000!
Nicely done. Wish i had the tools like you especially that vacumm attachment.
Simple and very nice 👍, this about as easy as it gets for a beginner or even skilled craftsman not looking to over complicate things or break the bank. Nice job.
Thanks 👍
Lol with the price of wood right now, I'm guessing it'll break the bank.
it's got to be over 200 lbs i don't think so
This was a super super video man so detailed if you would add a floating feature to the based this would be a flawless bed build.. But rarely people take the time to do such an amazing job for a bed where you sped 40% of your life in
Well done!, Sir.
You've tangiblelized what has been floating in my brain.
I appreciate you sharing with the world, and another compliment is on how precise and to the point your video is.
I'd keep checking more vids. As u post them
I just built one almost exactly like this. 2x8’s 2x6’s and sunk the mattress 2” into the frame with 2x4 slats. Stained black and looks amazing. Could park my truck on this thing.
Any idea how I would convert these exact plans into a queen bed, didn't realize this was for a king until I bought all the supplies
Hunter Novak look up the measurement for a queen and then a king mattress and the numbers will tell between that and his specs on the king frame
Easy, Simple, Affordable and Perfect
Super simple design super look! This is EXACTLY what I was after. Thx for the inspiration!!
Thank you, you are welcome!
Love the rustic look.
Thanks! We love it! 😍
Love this!! I think I'm going to build this! Cheaper than buying! Yes, I do have these tools
Awesome job! Just what I needed, simple and good looking, I will try this one!
Une bonne vidéo dun bon québécois continue comme ça !
Merci c'est bien apprécié 😊👍
It makes me feel like I can do it too. Great video!
Looks wonderful- Gorgeous job & thanks so much for sharing!
Much easier than another video I watched and attempting to build, looks like material would also cost alot less than the 4x4s in the other video
damn honestly inspired me to bulid this !!!
I love this wood working book *TopFineWoodworking. Com* . A few of the topics talked about in the book include wood working strategies, explanation on the development cycles of trees, and various lumber characteristics that craftsmen favor. I also provided my father another copy.
Your video is what exactly I am looking for.thanks a lot.
Absolutely gorgeous!🎉
Amazon bed. Looks so solid. I wonder if you would be better using bed brackets for the frame as they easily allow disassembly. As it stands your bed need to be unscrewed and re- screwed which will weaken the structure.
Trying this for our kids frame. A little smaller but very excited to try!
Nicely done, thanks for sharing!
Beautifully made
i like the exterior woodstain!
Gorgeous!!! It looks amazing
I will like to build one for my guest room. Thanks for the video
Any time! 😊
Awesome work!
Good luck with moving that out of that bedroom when you move. 😂
Not really, in fact there is no glue in this build, only pocket screws. Sure you will need to remove the lattice that i nailed on the top, but other than that its 5 big pieces, the 4 sides and the headboard. I think i would take me half an hour to dissasemble it. Remember that its regular wood screw that connect each side to each other, so if you move every years maybe the screws will become loose but it my case i dont plan to move alot. In case screws would become loose, you could add metal corner inside the frame. 👍😄
I was thinking the same thing, also the whole thing is probable really heavy
Awesome! BTW, like your dust/saw dust collection system. Well done on both!
Thank you! 😄 My dust collector is my favorite project yet, and the bed frame is my second! 👍
Fantastic job !
Sr.
Very well explanation !!
Thank you.
So nice of you, thanks! 👍
J’adore!!!! Je vais essayer de faire ça durant la quarantaine!
Love the design, thanks for sharing
Beau travail mon homme. Lâche pas!
Merci !! 🙂
Wow, that was amazing I love this seriously... thanks for sharing with us...
Nice job, just have your drill when it comes time to move it.
Try designing with way less lumber! You could get same look with many modifications to amount of lumber, this thing is really heavy to move as well. Try a slight angle backwards on the headboard so it is comfortable to read or sit up.
I'm doing just that re back tilt. Going to angle the 2x4 supports / stiffeners (set on 'edge' rather than flat against the headboard) on the back of the headboard. Would 5* slope be about right? Any other ideas?
Can you build me a bed frame? Wow! Great work!
Nicely done. Easy to follow and nice design too.
Thank you very much! 🙂
Cool. Best simple bed. I like it
Can i buy that, just build another one 😂 lol you did an awesome job man
Thank you Lee, but if i sell it to you i won't have a bed to sleep on tonight! hehe , thanks you! :)
Awesome bed, I think that I will try it
Awesome, go for it! It is a nice and sturdy bed! We really love it! 🙂
Wonderful My friend... greetings from Ecuador 🇪🇨
Dude, it’s a beauty.👍
Thank you ! 😊
Its very nice! I would have like to have seen the slats recessed though the bed would sit inside of the frame maybe an 1". That way you wouldnt see the slats.
One word, my friend. Wow!
Awesome look! I'll try it as I need a new bed frame but spending about $800+ when buy from store is not my way of doing things....Thanks for the plans as well :) cheers!
Bien fait.
Merci d'avoir partagé.
If you build another bed you should show it all made up great job though very impressive
Thank you and yes for sure, I think it's because we hadn't bought the bed sheets yet but can't remember.
Looks great! It really is a good feeling to sleep on something you made!
Thank you! 😊 It really is! My biggest project yet and the one I'm the most proud of! 😁
Looks great and very simple build👌
Thanks 👍
Bon travail!!! Vraiment bien expliquer. 450 represent!!
I really like the design of this and the plans are easy to follow, although I was wondering how I could modify this for a full/queen size bed?
Very nice you made it look easy
Thanks for the video. Turned out great
I am wondering that by keeping the top all level does the mattress slip around as opposed to letting the mattress sit down in the frame a bit?
Awesome. Just wish I had some of your skills.
I going to plan this for our bed
What does putting the screws in at an angle do, like why do that versus just putting them in straight? Awesome video, thank you!!
Loving this bed 🛌
You should just add "video" at the end of the title so people don't get confused and think that you mean they can build it in 5 min. Great video by the way taking this project on thanks and it would be cool if you put the price it cost to buy all materials
Hi! 🙂 Yes i agree, my english is not perfect so when i made this video, i was thinking ''timelapse'', not that you can make it in 5 minutes but you can watch how i made it in a 5 minutes video. I was going to change the title but youtubers told me not to do it because it would break the RUclips algorithm when you modify your tile or description, and in fact it's the first time one of me videos got so many love, so i tought it would be better to keep this title but not repeat the same error again with my next videos. 😉 And what about the price, i will add this in details this week in a pinned comment, this question has been asked alot, but i depend on the price you pay for your lumber. It's can vary alot depending of the region you live. It costed me about 250$ CAD but i will go in more details in my description. 👍
@@SEBTECHDIY understandable and thank you I really enjoyed the content and the detailed description of the whole project keep it up 👍
Very good build👍. You’ll be hitting your shins on the edges for a long time to come 😂
Any advice for setting the bed lower within the frame? I love the way this looks combined with the simplicity of the project but don’t want my mattress sliding all over the place
Very nice, thanks for the info and instruction!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks Robert! 👍
Wow nice bed,
Thank you sir
You given a good idea
Take care sir.
Thank you ! 🙂
Very nice! 💖it!👌from New York
Great Job, looks good
That is Beautiful!!!
That’s a nice piece
Great video
Real nice man love it
This is an awesome video!!
Excellent job!
Nice job man!
LOVE this bed frame! What adjustments would you recommend to make it easier to disassemble for a move?
Bro you made this look so easy😂😍
Haha ! Always easier in the video than in the real life, it was a big project but a fun one! 😅
A nice to have option would be simple way to adjust the height of the bed.
nice man! nice video and good bed idea! thenx keep on going
For something like the headboard, or perhaps a desk of similar build to the headboard, do you ever feel you need a jointer and planer? Or is that just going overboard?
Very good thanks for sharing. It’s awesome 👏
Thanks for watching! 🙂
EXCELLENT job. If you move do you have to disassemble it completely?
Great job!
Awesome video :) Thank You very much
Great work
