Its impact is unquestionable and no modern game has had me hooked like that game did. On the Surface Level, my favorite unsung thing bout this map is the toy car and motorcycle on the desk in the cabin to the right after the fenced in cabins. Shoot either one, they fall to the floor with an unbelievable explosion to follow. Whomever programmed them was having to much fun.

You could drastically change the behaviors of the bots, weapons and positions, number of teams, etc. The levels and objectives during the campaign were far more linear in the Time Splitters games, particularly 3, though it is my favorite of the trilogy. "It's time to split!"
The surface was my favorite level, I loved snipping dudes from what seems like a mile off. The worst level in my opinion is the jungle. the fogging is so bad and I could never see the damn turrets. I did like blasting xena off the bridge though.
Dam fine list. I Frigate how many great levels are in this game. On the Surface they are fairly simple by today’s standard, but they Bunker down in the Archives of our childhood.
I think control is the hardest. Sometimes u get brutal RNG and they kill Natalia. I can usually get up to that part with no damage but sometimes they get her. With aztec the first room right at the start is a pain I sometimes have to restart that part over and over and sometimes I get it quickly the rest isn’t too bad sometimes jaws is annoying sometimes not too bad u can lead him back to the hallway that has the cutout concrete slabs if u mess up and he chases u. Then ur super close to the room with the DAT and reprogram guidance data cause everybody respawns after jaws so if it helps u lure him to there and then get that objective quick and dip

Facility is far and away my favorite level. I'm partial to the earlier missions, though a big part of my criteria is how fun they are to just goof around on with cheats. Runway, Silo, Frigate, Bunker 2 and some of my other favorites.
I loved killing the scientists. Setting up remote mines behind the scientist by himself in the smallest room when you first enter the science lab. Room would explode and he’d fly through the window. Ahhh good times.
My go tp character was Siberian Special Forces one of the later skins you unlocked. I loved the snow suit and mask. Had a vague Hoth Trooper vibe about him.
Caverns is now my favorite level. It used to be my least favorite but the aesthetic of it and how it builds up to the climax is epic as hell and the soundtrack for that level creates this looming feeling of building tension.

yeah, Surface 1 was fantastic, also using the sniper rifle to look around the more open areas would set the table for other future FPS's. Very underrated in this video.

“Watching Bond at Christmas” - it’s funny you mention that. For years during my Christmas break from school they would do a days-long Bond movie marathon, and that’s where I first saw all of the classics. And I’m in the US. Between that, and getting this game for Christmas, I have always somewhat associated Bond with Christmas.
1.Archives is literally my favorite level and you placed it dead last 😄 It is by far my favorite to speed run. That's what made me love it. 2. Bunker 2 on 00 Agent was insanely difficult but once I mastered it, the feeling of satisfaction was incredible. 20.Jungle is unquestionably the worst, IMO.
Bunker 2 in my opinion is the level that changes the most in difficulty, once you figure out how to exploit the many doors for cover, and do the one-burst KF7 fire method to not cause any guards to clone. After that point it goes from Train or Caverns-level frustrating, to not much harder than Silo
Bunker 2 is all about the throwing knives u gotta master that. U stand at the bottom of the stairs and as the guards do their rounds u let one see u and then run around to the corner right in front of the door that leads to the cell and aim ur knife low they come to the same spot everytime so u master that do it over and over till u clear all the hallway guards then the safe room and u get the safe keys eventually and get the silenced pp7s and it’s easy after that. I only do the one shot kf7 Soviet for the room that has the one guard and camera where u use the data thief in bunker 1. Headshot the guard with 1 and hit the camera with 1. And the guy with the red clipboard. I don’t go in that room. I go around to the right side open the door don’t shoot just let him see u and close the door he comes and maybe 1 other guy will see u. U get the red clipboard easy without having to deal with the many guys from that room that bum rush u if u go in from the left side. Once everything is done and all cameras are done then u go to the room that has the exit and now u can use the Soviet without worrying about the endless spawning super easy as long as u make the knife throws. All about leading the guys one by one hide around the corner and hit ur throws. Mark the right spot and repeat. Opening doors from the right angle where only one guy sees u and close without shooting and dip they follow throw the knife.
I always love your videos so I can't really diss your list. Especially because your motivation for the ranking, despite deeply different from mine, is so well explained I simply can't fault it. Top notch! Congratz and can't wait to see your next video!
My favourites: 1. Silo- Really fast paced and actiony. The timer keeps you on your toes. 2. Frigate- I love the man my different pathways and strategies you can take. 3. Runway- Love running over people with the tank. Also it’s short and sweet.
For my top three, I'm going to start with the two levels I played the most as a kid - Silo and Frigate. Both felt incredibly atmospheric and I loved the tight time-limit of silo and the claustrophobic tight quarters of Frigate. In first place, though; I'm going with Aztec. Just an absolute joy to play.
1. Facility 2. Frigate 3. Train I remember getting laughs with my friends when using slow motion/turbo mode cheats and watching the end cutscene of Depot (when you get onto the train). Facility will always be my favorite though. That and Complex were probably our 2 most played multiplayer levels too. I'll always remember throwing remote mines in the room outside the bathroom and camping in there like an asshole while my buddies tried to get at me without getting blown up. Also, love these new ranking videos. I could definitely see you doing an Ocarina of Time dungeon/temple ranking in the future, and I look forward to it if that's the case :)
You've been nailing these ranked videos Glenn, great work as always! I love Egyptian as the developers did an amazing job of creating a level that feels as if the player is exploring an actual Pyramid. The eerie music playing with the dark atmosphere and Baron Samedi's laugh echoing around the Pyramid still gives me chills! I used to be able to get the golden gun in one try as you had to step on the correct tiles for the glass to come off. I wrote what I thought was the right sequence down but I seem to keep tripping the trap...I could look up the answer and not deal with the aggro but I think it will be more rewarding if I figure it out through trial and error.
Love your channel glen . I was lucky enough to be 11 when the N64 came out . I fully understand your passion and nostalgia attached to the N64 . It was the best time of our life’s growing up with the N64 .
My favourite level is probably Frigate, love the non-linearity of the level, as a kid I would always replay the level and do the objectives a different order each time Silo is incredibly fun, the sense of urgency and tight corridors mean you have to stay on your toes at all times. Wasn't too fond of Caverns as a kid because it's very long and the scientists would troll me but I've learned to appreciate it more over the years
facility has one of the best and most memorable soundtracks, dude! But yeah what an amazing game to remember and it’s still a great challenge on 00 agent!

Gotta be Egyptian and Aztec. Simple because there was no internet. It took me forever as a kid to master the game and unlock them. When I did I had no idea they existed. It blew my mind. Plus after maybe years of playing the game getting new content was unbelievable
Top 5 for me would be 1: Facility 2:Archives 3: Train 4: Frigate 5: Surface 1 Honorable mention would be Caverns with it's sweet sweet music. Worst level for me would be Statue, was way too confusing for me back in the day.
Facility. #1 for single player and multiplayer. We used to even do a goofy role playing rule set in Facility. If we had 4 players in house we would do bathroom reigning terror. The objective is to single handedly hold the bathroom from the other 3. While the other 3 team up to take out the bathroom dominator. Basically a bad day at the office and you need to use the bathroom and someone's blocking it. Power weapons and assortments of land mines were the best. The balcony and tight entrance made it a great spot for 1 person to dominate. But a wild card spawn into the air vent was always good.
Surface 1 was my fav level and my go to when showing off my N64. The graphics were incredible for the time and I remember zooming with my sniper rifle a lot and at the satelite dish just to marvel at the realism of it all.
Another great video! I agree that the Facility is probably the best and felt so epic to play as a kid. I really love the Severnya level (first snow level) as well, just loved the open landscape and sniping and the feeling of cold...
I believe Silo was the first level Rare worked on, when the game was being developed as an on-rails shooter like its inspiration Virtua Cop. Probably why it's a fan favorite. Just pure frenetic shooting from start to finish.
Facility was the best 4 vs 4 level in the game. I remember playing it one night and taking a break outside when my friends mom came outside and told us that princess diana was just killed.
Never played much multiplayer, but my favorite levels as a kid were always facility, depot and train and bunker 1. I always blew up the gas tanks but had invincible cheats and would just run around.
I remember really liking the tank level as a kid. I can still hear the crunchy sound effects lol. Still have my copy and a CRT set up. I think I know what I'm doing today 😉

Before watching the vid, here are my rankings for top levels I love to play. 1. Facility in 007 mode with Max to all special options but put enemy health to zero. Also, fast animation "cheat". Makes the enemies super quick and stupid accurate. One hit death to you and them. So many hours and hours with this mission in high school 2 decades ago. Also, Facility is just classic from the movie. I love the whole mission. 2. Train - Comfort food mission. Linear, but I like it. Awesome 007 Max setting challenge as well. 3. Caverns - Another 007 max options challenge I enjoy. Picking off people slowly. Bonus Dam - After a long time away, throwing in Goldeneye and booting up Dam always reminds me I am home. Silo - I love silo but having to go into my inventory to bring out the camera and plastic explosives and stuff all the time gets annoying.

Great vid! Silo, frigate and DAM are my top three lvls. Silo and frigate flow smoothly and have fun gameplay also great music on Silo that matches the on screen action perfectly. DAM is iconic it screams N64 i mean its glued to the N64 experience we all had as kids its the lvl you show to your friend just after school to show how cool the game is..to feel the hype! plus it has the awe-factor of the jump which bk then would make us admire the 3d capabilities of the N64. Hard to comprehend how much time has passed since i got my hands on this game..and to think that at first i wanted to get bk to the shop and exchange it for another title, glad i didnt! PS: Facility also has a special place in my heart but i keep it out of my short list because it rly gave me a hard time bk then! xD
🦇🦇🦇My three favorite GoldenEye levels are...🦇🦇🦇 1. Surface 2 2. Statue Park 3. Egyptian Crypt Why, you may ask? Because these levels are set out in the dark, they have a frightening feel to them but they are also the perfect choice for a Darkstalker... like me, for instance!🦇
I've finished goldeneye via emulator on all difficulties twice in the past 3 months. The XBLA remaster is sensational too...EDIT: Facility is the best level. The music in that level is iconic aswell..
My favorite level is The Archives just too epic getting you're weapon and clip off the table killing the bad guys rescuing Natalya and getting the flight recorder from Mishkin lol

Yes, it's totally linear, but that just made it better, somehow. Weirdly, I've completely forgotten the cavern level. I can't even remember where it came in the story.

Levels I love and can always replay are Facility, Surface, Frigate, Bunker2, Archives, Train, Jungle, Aztec, and Egyptian. I used Xenia. Top 4 I’d say are Facility, Frigate, Archives, and Aztec.
When I saw the video in my feed, Frigate came to mind first. It’s been my favorite for very similar reasons to you, my grandfather was a man of the sea, used to take us out on a little cabin cruiser when we were kids.
I actually liked, probably the hardest level Aztec the most. Yellow Moonraker suits, Laser guns, Jaws, Space shuttle, etc, etc. I noticed the footage you used was emulated TAS of Aztec.

I was a PS One player at the time, but I bought an N64 console / Goldeneye bundle plus a £10 second hand cartridge of Super Mario 64, and it was just astounding. I really enjoy the old Goldeneye vibe from the TimeSplitters series.

Facility - The head shot memorial...and the best multiplayer level in my opinion of course. Dam - I just have such a vivid memories of the utter awe I was in over the N64's graphics. Frigate - I just loved everything about the level, the theme, the layout and the replay value. I really enjoyed hearing the reasons behind your choices. You should do a video on the best graphical games, the titles that really pushed the consoles hardware.
Hard to say my ranking, but I always had ARCHIVE high up. Mainly because, when I unlocked 007 mode and could fart around with settings, I turned that level into a John Woo-esque extravaganza with duel pistols and exploding boxes everywhere. Was a good stress reliever after a sh't day at school. For the best though? Facility, Silo, Frigate Train, and Jungle

I used to set bombs all across the bridge and lure her into it and blow her ass up
Jungle was really hard. It was severely impacted by the technology at the time. Only if they had the expansion pak back then..

And the guy with the red clipboard. I don’t go in that room. I go around to the right side open the door don’t shoot just let him see u and close the door he comes and maybe 1 other guy will see u. U get the red clipboard easy without having to deal with the many guys from that room that bum rush u if u go in from the left side. Once everything is done and all cameras are done then u go to the room that has the exit and now u can use the Soviet without worrying about the endless spawning super easy as long as u make the knife throws. All about leading the guys one by one hide around the corner and hit ur throws. Mark the right spot and repeat. Opening doors from the right angle where only one guy sees u and close without shooting and dip they follow throw the knife.
Facility was my favorite!! The combination of the music and sneaking around with your silenced pp7 making you feel like a real spy.
Surface 1 is my favorite level, the music is a big part of that.

My favourites:
1. Silo- Really fast paced and actiony. The timer keeps you on your toes.
2. Frigate- I love the man my different pathways and strategies you can take.
3. Runway- Love running over people with the tank. Also it’s short and sweet.
For my top three, I'm going to start with the two levels I played the most as a kid - Silo and Frigate. Both felt incredibly atmospheric and I loved the tight time-limit of silo and the claustrophobic tight quarters of Frigate.
In first place, though; I'm going with Aztec. Just an absolute joy to play.

I remember getting laughs with my friends when using slow motion/turbo mode cheats and watching the end cutscene of Depot (when you get onto the train). Facility will always be my favorite though. That and Complex were probably our 2 most played multiplayer levels too. I'll always remember throwing remote mines in the room outside the bathroom and camping in there like an asshole while my buddies tried to get at me without getting blown up.
Also, love these new ranking videos. I could definitely see you doing an Ocarina of Time dungeon/temple ranking in the future, and I look forward to it if that's the case :)

You've been nailing these ranked videos Glenn, great work as always! I love Egyptian as the developers did an amazing job of creating a level that feels as if the player is exploring an actual Pyramid. The eerie music playing with the dark atmosphere and Baron Samedi's laugh echoing around the Pyramid still gives me chills! I used to be able to get the golden gun in one try as you had to step on the correct tiles for the glass to come off. I wrote what I thought was the right sequence down but I seem to keep tripping the trap...I could look up the answer and not deal with the aggro but I think it will be more rewarding if I figure it out through trial and error.
Love your channel glen . I was lucky enough to be 11 when the N64 came out . I fully understand your passion and nostalgia attached to the N64 . It was the best time of our life’s growing up with the N64 .
A moment of silence for all of the bad guys I’ve ran over on the tank level just for the fun of it.
My favourite level is probably Frigate, love the non-linearity of the level, as a kid I would always replay the level and do the objectives a different order each time
Silo is incredibly fun, the sense of urgency and tight corridors mean you have to stay on your toes at all times.
Wasn't too fond of Caverns as a kid because it's very long and the scientists would troll me but I've learned to appreciate it more over the years
Dam and Silo are the absolute GOATs of the game
Siberian Special Forces guy all in grey was my favourite multiplayer character. He blended in really well as so many levels had grey walls 😁
facility has one of the best and most memorable soundtracks, dude! But yeah what an amazing game to remember and it’s still a great challenge on 00 agent!

Now THIS is a video about stuff that I like! Anyone who says Goldeneye doesn't hold up, and even...GASP...sucks, wouldn't know a good game if it tickled their taint. I've been Radical Reviews. I'll be here all week.
Gotta be Egyptian and Aztec. Simple because there was no internet. It took me forever as a kid to master the game and unlock them. When I did I had no idea they existed. It blew my mind. Plus after maybe years of playing the game getting new content was unbelievable
Top 5 for me would be 1: Facility 2:Archives 3: Train 4: Frigate 5: Surface 1
Honorable mention would be Caverns with it's sweet sweet music.
Worst level for me would be Statue, was way too confusing for me back in the day.
Facility. #1 for single player and multiplayer. We used to even do a goofy role playing rule set in Facility.
If we had 4 players in house we would do bathroom reigning terror. The objective is to single handedly hold the bathroom from the other 3. While the other 3 team up to take out the bathroom dominator. Basically a bad day at the office and you need to use the bathroom and someone's blocking it. Power weapons and assortments of land mines were the best. The balcony and tight entrance made it a great spot for 1 person to dominate. But a wild card spawn into the air vent was always good.
Until a few years ago I never knew the last 2 levels existed. I always as a kid figured there was just 2 empty spots at the bottom right randomly

Surface 1 was my fav level and my go to when showing off my N64. The graphics were incredible for the time and I remember zooming with my sniper rifle a lot and at the satelite dish just to marvel at the realism of it all.

Another great video! I agree that the Facility is probably the best and felt so epic to play as a kid. I really love the Severnya level (first snow level) as well, just loved the open landscape and sniping and the feeling of cold...

I believe Silo was the first level Rare worked on, when the game was being developed as an on-rails shooter like its inspiration Virtua Cop. Probably why it's a fan favorite. Just pure frenetic shooting from start to finish.
Facility was the best 4 vs 4 level in the game. I remember playing it one night and taking a break outside when my friends mom came outside and told us that princess diana was just killed.
Never played much multiplayer, but my favorite levels as a kid were always facility, depot and train and bunker 1. I always blew up the gas tanks but had invincible cheats and would just run around.
I remember really liking the tank level as a kid. I can still hear the crunchy sound effects lol. Still have my copy and a CRT set up. I think I know what I'm doing today 😉

Before watching the vid, here are my rankings for top levels I love to play.
1. Facility in 007 mode with Max to all special options but put enemy health to zero. Also, fast animation "cheat". Makes the enemies super quick and stupid accurate. One hit death to you and them. So many hours and hours with this mission in high school 2 decades ago. Also, Facility is just classic from the movie. I love the whole mission.
2. Train - Comfort food mission. Linear, but I like it. Awesome 007 Max setting challenge as well.
3. Caverns - Another 007 max options challenge I enjoy. Picking off people slowly.
Bonus
Dam - After a long time away, throwing in Goldeneye and booting up Dam always reminds me I am home.
Silo - I love silo but having to go into my inventory to bring out the camera and plastic explosives and stuff all the time gets annoying.

Great vid! Silo, frigate and DAM are my top three lvls. Silo and frigate flow smoothly and have fun gameplay also great music on Silo that matches the on screen action perfectly. DAM is iconic it screams N64 i mean its glued to the N64 experience we all had as kids its the lvl you show to your friend just after school to show how cool the game is..to feel the hype! plus it has the awe-factor of the jump which bk then would make us admire the 3d capabilities of the N64. Hard to comprehend how much time has passed since i got my hands on this game..and to think that at first i wanted to get bk to the shop and exchange it for another title, glad i didnt!
PS: Facility also has a special place in my heart but i keep it out of my short list because it rly gave me a hard time bk then! xD

I've finished goldeneye via emulator on all difficulties twice in the past 3 months. The XBLA remaster is sensational too...EDIT: Facility is the best level. The music in that level is iconic aswell..

When I saw the video in my feed, Frigate came to mind first. It’s been my favorite for very similar reasons to you, my grandfather was a man of the sea, used to take us out on a little cabin cruiser when we were kids.
I actually liked, probably the hardest level Aztec the most. Yellow Moonraker suits, Laser guns, Jaws, Space shuttle, etc, etc.
I noticed the footage you used was emulated TAS of Aztec.
MY faves are Facility, Silo, Bunker 1 & 2. Also I really like archives, it's awesome with shootouts and lots of stuff to destroy and blow up.

I was a PS One player at the time, but I bought an N64 console / Goldeneye bundle plus a £10 second hand cartridge of Super Mario 64, and it was just astounding. I really enjoy the old Goldeneye vibe from the TimeSplitters series.

Facility - The head shot memorial...and the best multiplayer level in my opinion of course.
Dam - I just have such a vivid memories of the utter awe I was in over the N64's graphics.
Frigate - I just loved everything about the level, the theme, the layout and the replay value.
I really enjoyed hearing the reasons behind your choices. You should do a video on the best graphical games, the titles that really pushed the consoles hardware.
Hard to say my ranking, but I always had ARCHIVE high up. Mainly because, when I unlocked 007 mode and could fart around with settings, I turned that level into a John Woo-esque extravaganza with duel pistols and exploding boxes everywhere. Was a good stress reliever after a sh't day at school.
For the best though? Facility, Silo, Frigate Train, and Jungle
